Do not buy.. Scammers

"So I ordered some items off of their website checked out and paid for it. I got an email a week later saying I need to pay more money. Even though I had receipts and I've already checked out with all the items that I ordered that were on my checkout bill. They wanted me to pay another $10 or so because some issue on their end. They were out of the colors I requested therefore by their mouths had to give me these more expensive brass pieces that cost more. That's a scam. I explained to them in the first email very nicely that I placed the order and if your website didn't ring it up correctly after I've already paid for it that's on them. That maybe they need to look at their website which is horrible by the way and fix it. They could be running that website like that on purpose just so they can scam people and get more money out of them. I mentioned it's not my fault you are out of the colors that I requested. I should not have to pay more. I am already getting a product that I didn't order because I wanted red not brass. And so they want me to pay more for a product that I didn't even want. The email me back saying a bunch of BS. Then I did my diligence and looked around at other reviews on the internet and this company has very very low reviews. Like two out of five. And hopefully with mine it'll be even less. Do not buy from this place they are a scam. They will try to charge you more money. And then they'll probably take forever to even get you the product. I asked for a refund and got it. After I sent the second email I did not hear anything from them for another week. I had to send a third email just to get them to respond and that's when I canceled my order because they weren't responding with the first email when I said I should not have to pay more because you are out of the color I am asking for. Actually I should get those for free. Since they're not even the color I want. And if you have something on your website that's out of stock I should never have been able to purchase it. Or if I put something in my checkout basket that doesn't have a price and I get ringed up you can't charge me later for that. They should not even be charging for the pieces that you have to buy that hold the other pieces together. When you buy a piece that they have made with all the same pieces it is cheaper than having to pick all them yourself. But you pick all them yourself because you want to customize that item. If they don't have the parts to customize that item you should not have to pay extra. As since these items were brass you have to pay twice as much as the red item that you wanted. Is this ridiculous or what. They would not even respond to these issues. So I just got a refund. Do not buy from this place. Samantha was the one I talked to. Stay away"

Security risk - avoid!

"When I discovered smokingpipesdepot.com does not accept Paypal or any other third-party payment option, I was hesitant to make a purchase. Who knows whether they are taking the proper security precautions with their data? The more places that have your credit card number, the more chances for it to be hacked or leaked, which I why I prefer third-party payment options. However, wanting to support a small business, I made the purchase despite my misgivings.

Since others have mentioned the lack of tracking number communication, I requested (in the "special requests" section of the order form) for them to email me the tracking number once it shipped. They did not. However, it was shipped quickly, and the product arrived ready to use and looks like quality to my untrained eye.

But then I received the account creation confirmation email (two weeks after I made the account and received my item, but whatever). It confirms that I made an account (I did) and lists my username and password...in PLAINTEXT. Yes, they sent me my password in plaintext, which means they must store it in plaintext, something even the most naive freshman comp sci major knows is a very bad idea. Smokingpipesdeopt.com clearly know nothing about data security and have no business having a website that handles any sensitive information. I deeply regret giving them my credit card number, and it was probably a bad idea to even give them my email address. Don't make my mistake.

Terrible customer service

"I ordered myself a birthday present on a Sunday. I received no order confirmation, so after 4 days I emailed to see what was up. I received no response, so I emailed again a week after my purchase (the charge cleared my account by Tuesday) and finally received an excuse that the item was out of stock, did I want a refund or replacement. I requested a refund and waited. I received no communication from them to acknowledge my reply, so I decided to use their message feature. I guess that’s just like sending an email as I did not receive a response through there either. This morning I do see they processed my refund. I am not impressed by the lack of customer care this business has, a little communication would have saved us all a headache and I may have actually chosen another item. I hope they take this review seriously and look into better communication practices going forward."

"i ordered a pipe, paid almost $12 for shiping, it took longer than i thought it should considering the price. the real problem is they sent the wrong pipe. it was hard reaching the merchant but when i finally got a number i called to fix the problem. they wanted me to pay to ship their mistake back, then they would send the right product. i don't pay for other peoples mistake. i would not agree and they hung up. fortunatly for me i paid with a credit card and was able to have my payment retracted. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY."

"Two weeks to recieve my order. Ordered three bats, one dugout. When I got my order, one bat is wrong, no dugout. I e-mail them to let them know, two weeks later, no response, no dugout. Never again with these guys. I'll just buy local."

"I would HIGHLY recommend that people NOT shop through smokingpipesdepot.com!! I ordered a pipe rush delivery for a friend that was only going to be in town for a week and it did not show up before he left. I called the company to see what had happened, and they offered to re-route the pipe to my friend's new address free of charge; they said that the pipe was almost to it's original destination in California (two weeks after it was due to arrive) but that it was no problem re-routing it. A month passes, and the pipe never shows up. I speak with Brad on the phone, who basically gives me a bogus tracking number for USPS (when I enter it nothing shows up as being delivered or mailed) and tells me he can't refund me or help me out in any other way because they "never got the pipe back". That's cool Brad, you need to meet your bottom line. But here's a hint: USPS sucks, and customer service comes first. I even indulged them a bit and called the original apartment building is was supposed to make it to in California: no pipe. By their records nothing ever showed up. I'm not saying that the company intentionally scammed me (though I wouldn't say otherwise). I do think it's quite unprofessional to send the customer on a rat race and then not offer to compensate at all when nothing turns up. Cheap skates."

"For the convenience of being able to order such products online discreetly and at very affordable prices, I rate my experience 3 out of 5.

There is a lack of order processing notifications. I also expected my order to arrive a lot earlier. I noticed that when you call it goes to someone that transfers to the Depot's line. This is a little confusing at first.

Overall, the product was of good quality. One piece was broken when I opened the package. I called, and was instructed to take pictures of the broken product and email it to them. They are going to send out a replacement, hassle free.

I will purchase with this company again.

"Placed my order almost 2 weeks ago. I tried emailing, they didn't respond. Tried calling, they didn't answer. Had to do a little digging around to find another phone number. FINALLY got them on the phone. They explained that each order is custom made, which is why it takes so long to process before shipping. They DO NOT indicate this on their website. Almost two weeks ago I placed my order and I still have not received what I paid for. I got them on the phone today and they claimed they shipped it UPS several days ago, however I never received an email with a tracking number. If my order does not arrive by Monday I will be contacting the Wisconsin State Attorney General and disputing the charge as fraudulent with my bank. I will also use SEO tactics to ruin their reputation on the internet. People this irresponsible have no business accepting money over the internet. Avoid at all costs."
