This review is for SmartPartsPRODUCTS.com (not SmartParts.com - quite different companies).

I purchased two SPX8 digital photo frames. The one I gave to my wife has a problem with the motion sensor. Sometimes it works properly, sometimes when nobody is even in the room, the frame turns on, sometimes when we're in the room, and moving around right in front of the frame, it goes to sleep.

I have sent 6 e-mails to SmartPartsProducts.com's technical support. I received 2 answers, one that said, "Are you sure you want us to do something about your problem item?", and one that said, "OK. Here's what you need to do to start the exchange process." (paraphrased). I followed their instructions by sending them the information they wanted via FAX - the receipt and some personal information - to the FAX number they told me to use. My FAX machine receipt indicates a successful transmission. I have heard absolutely nothing back from them.

I sent another e-mail to every e-mail address the company provides on their website (techsupport, info, sales, export sales, and marketing) in hopes that one of the departments would help me get the defective frame exchanged. I heard nothing back from any of the e-mails I sent. Their choice to ignore a customer and ignore their own warranty is, in my opinion, inexcusable.

My advice to you is to seriously consider another manufacturer if you're in the market for a digital photo frame. I do NOT recommend this company to anyone because of the way they lie about warranty issues. They don't deserve your business.
