"Bait & switch tactics. Telling you the are sending you superior upgrades but when they arrive you can see they are no upgrade but everyday products that everyone else sells and you just paid big money for . Most recently their web site is down and so is the phone number. Are they out of business. I want to return my stuff because of fraud."

"DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! IT IS A COMPLETE FRAUD!!! "These guys are a complete fraud - they need to be shut down. Placed an order and received a call two days later that was just rude -wanted me to change the order, increase the price of purchase. Are we going to let these types of wankers run the online universe. I hope not.

DO NOT EVER USE THESE TOSSERS.

"1. I originally ordered the SB-900 flash manufactured by Nikon w/ free shipping on 25OCT10.
2. A technician named Dave called me within 2 hours to clarify my order. I returned the phone call on 26OCT10 but he talked so fast and over the top of my head that I did not understand what he was trying to tell me.
3. I received no email confirmation of either of these parts.
4. When I received the order on 01NOV10 what I received was an ef-530 Sigma flash.
a. Seeing as this was not the flash that I originally ordered I looked up the stats for this flash.
b. This was a subpar flash compared to the one that I ordered and in fact you could find this same flash for $200 less than what I paid for it through SPD.
c. I also noticed that there was also a $23 dollar charge on my invoice for shipping insurance. See #1 above.
5. I called SPD and again talked to Dave on 01NOV10. He started to become argumentative with me about my order and I explained to him all of the above from #3. I simply asked to have a full refund of my purchase and an RMA number. He would not give me RMA # but insisted that I got a great deal. He described that the flash he sold me would have a “PE” on the box for Professional Edition and that this flash was not sold by anyone else under this moniker. I insisted that I talk to a rep that could give me an RMA number. After several minutes of this he finally transferred me.
a. NOTE: I have ordered the same product from Adorama.com with great customer service and it also has the “PE” stamped on the box. This Item was $200 cheaper than the one SPD scammed me with. So Dave lied to me about the “PE” mark.
6. Upon transfer I explained #3 to Kevin and he told me there would be a 15% restock fee. I told him that the paper I had specified a 10% restock fee on it and besides that I did not believe I had to accept any restock fee as I did not order to part in question. He said he could knock $97 dollars off of the price and I did not agree with that and explained to him that I would be disputing the charges with my credit card company.
7. There was also a dispute on my credit card for this total purchase of $422.92 the November 2010.
8. Since this conversation there was a $97 dollar credit to the account which I did not ask for.
9. Capital One had called back on 01DEC10 and said that SPD was resubmitting the charges. I asked what I could do and they said to get back in touch with SPD and see about returning the parts for refund and to end this all.
10. I called back to SPD on 01DEC10 and talked with Kevin again and he immediately became argumentative with me. He said that he would not return the parts as they are “useless” to him. He also tried to refund an additional $25 to my account. I asked only to have to have an RMA with a full refund. He refused this. Upon hanging up he called me back about 2 minutes later and offered me $50 refund off my purchase. I again refused and asked for a full refund with a RMA. He said again that the parts were worthless to him and that he did not care about them. He told me that if I did not take this offer and if I continued to dispute the charges he would reinstate the $97 that he had already attempted to return to me.

After this experience I did some online research of SPD and it looks as this is their scam. A customer puts in an order for a product, they call back to confirm the order but talk the customer into purchasing a subpar product for a overly inflated price, then extort the customer when they call to complain. I have also tried to look up my order history from the SPD website but as you can see from the evidence provided all my order history has been removed. SPD failed to provide me with any confirmation of my original order and have since deleted all my account information from their database. I tried all steps in good faith to resolve this issue but at every attempt SPD has refused to refund my money. I still have the parts in the original packaging that SPD will not accept back.

"First, placed order online. 11/27/2010
Got receipt via email thanking me for order. 11/27
Shortly after got email confirming order#SPD66311. 11/27
11/29 got email telling me to confirm order #HIB-***-***-****.
11/29 tried calling company to confirm order as another email instructed me, after an hour being placed on hold 3 times, hung up.
Called 11/30 Much shorter hold times, after giving order # a few times and a few people I was told their shipment was defective and it would take 6-8 weeks for them to get the item from overseas. I tried to clarify this because they were talking about a foriegn camera, but would have 1yr USA warranty. The camera would be the same one I ordered, but would have to send overseas for warranty repair. I agreed to wait for the order to be filled sometime after Christmas.

I figured I would be getting an email shortly telling me the order was cancelled. Got the email a few hours later saying the order had been cancelled becaude the item was over sold and would take 6-8 weeks to get more. My email address has been added to the notify list and they will contact when item is available.

Most reputable companies have and inventory counter which automatically prevents over ordering from their website.

This company wastes your time and money. Now I need to find a good price with someone else after the deals are over!!!

"This wasthe worst camera-buying experience of my life. I ordered a package deal including a Canon T2i; however, I got a call from Dave who somehow talked me into spending another $1,000 basically to include a 70-300 mm lens with macro. This turned out to be a Sigma lens worth about $200.00. It is a very good lens, however. They are very forceful in selling insurance also. To make a long story short. I ended up spending about an extra $700 which included gizmos that I didn't need. I should have just gone to Costco or B&H, got what I wanted, and paid the sales tax. I would never-never buy anything from this company again."

"They got me too, actually it was quite entertaining- and they followed the script to the letter with a few bumps in the road probably because of the selling season. Placed an order on November 24th then went looking for reviews of their "business" oops. Received an email on the 26th to call and confirm the order, I did and was kinda amused they forgot the hard sell ... went looking at the account and it looked like it was proceeding except for a curious "X" near my name, my guess was the hard sell hadn't been applied. Received an email Sunday the 28th with details of the order and a "left message" was in one of the boxes ... looking back over the few emails I had gotten the one with the call to confirm said if you have confirmed disregard. Anyway I figured I'd push it some and called back the confirmation number, after being on hold for quite some time a person answered asked for the order number and my name- now up until then no one had asked for the security code and he didn't ask either, politely asked if I would hold to be transferred. Now I'm starting to understand what happened next. I was on hold for a very very long time and this I'm sure was a "tell" to them any reasonable person would have hung up and called back a bit upset so two stints on a very long hold and I was as calm as could be which must have set off alarms. I walked around, made a sandwich finished a cup of coffee and then a person picked up. "Hello you ordered the gold Canon PowerShot SD780 yes?" I replied yes "ah you ordered the wholesale camera" heh no such thing I think to myself "yes I did" "oh so the battery memory and charger .... you have them" of course, I replied, "enjoy the camera then!" damn if he didn't hit the send on the email before he told me to "enjoy" within three seconds of hanging up my email chime goes off:

"Unfortunately we are currently oversold on the item you have ordered, and it is currently on a backorder for 6-8 weeks. Therefore, your order has been canceled. Please note, your credit card has not been charged."

Well at least they didn't want to play the restocking game, and since no one thought to ask for the security code I doubt if my card has been compromised. BUT if anyone reading this is up to making waves for these modern day scammers drop me an email ****@**** I'll add my email trail to the bunch.

"BAIT & SWITCH!!! They list great price for what you want, then call you saying they don't have that item but they have a much more superior item at a much higher price. They will even give you a discount on that much more expensive item, but they will not give you the item you want!!! The salesman was very rude and would not discuss my original purchase. I cancelled my order!"

"This is the biggest bunch of liars and theives I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I ordered a USA camera (NIKON) and paid extra for the USA model. When I received the camera, it was grey market-european. I called and talked to one of the slimy "customer service" reps. He told me there was a 10% restocking fee if I sent the camera back. I didn't make a mistake-they charges me for a USA model sent a grey market and now want $300. if I send it back to them. DO NOT BUY from these crooks. Their mistake, but I doubt it really was a mistake, and I have a $300 penalty. WHY"

"I placed my order for a Nikon D5000 leader package for $319 which includes an 18-50 mm lens and a 55-200 zoom lens for $319.00 which is about 1/3 of the price at Costco and Best Buy. It took my order and there was nothing about back order. This guy calls me today and tells me that he wants to verify my address which I did and then he says that I need to buy the battery for this camera which is $150. I say I assumed that the battery comes with it but I want to wait till I get my order before making another purchase. he says ok but you can not use it without the battery. Again there was no mention of back order. I just checked my email and saw the same standard email that the previous poster shopper had posted which I have included at the end of this post. Anyways, these guys are in violation of FCC rules for fraud by using the Internet as well as Interstate commerce regulations and predatory pricing to bait and switch. They can be easily put out of business and forced to change their name and operation. I am calling FCC tomorrow. I do not think I can call my credit care company to report unless a charge shows up on my statement. If it does show a charge then that opens another front to confront these charlatans.

"A letter to my Daughter Re: SkyPointDigital.
My dauther just enrolled in College this year to study Photography. I would like share with you that, My daughter was born with Spinabifeta she is in a wheelchair and will be all her life. well we took her Federal loan money. We bought her a Canon d5 not a problem until I told the salesman we

had a very tight budget we could not afford the upscale
Canon Package. with hesitation he placed the order. (It Was
A Hard Buy.) We recived the letter a Day or two later my
Daughter was so upset. Well I think I can do somthing about
this where others may not. The money was a Federal Grant
and I believe this was a deliberate act of fraud. I live In The
Great State Of Arkansas We can still talk directly to our
repesenitives at the Capital by first name.
I have not heard not one thing about my daughter order and I believe it to be a switch and bate scam. I really wanted the company to step up and produce the camera she needs for school.

"Buyer Beware! If it sounds too good to be true, it IS! I ordered a Sony Camcorder with 5-7 day shipping. I was then sent an e-mail to confirm the order. Got put on hold for a while then forwarded a voicemail. Called again the next day and waited on hold for about ten minutes. I was then told my order would take SIX WEEKS for THEM to get it. THEY ARE SELLING STUFF THEY DON't EVEN HAVE!!!. The person on the phone was rude and apathetic as if their false adverticing campaign was my fault. Luckily my credit card wasn't charged yet and I've notified my card's security department to be on the lookout for a fraudulent charge. When you see their too-good-to-be-true prices... MOVE ON!!!! "
