Great products and service

"I've been ordering from them for five years and am always delighted with their products and service. Great selection of delicious spice blends and decent prices which can be packaged in plastic bags or glass bottles of different sizes. I like that they ship a random sample with each order so you can experience something that you would otherwise not try. Shipping is fast and they have frequent sales. "

"I placed my order of $33 on Friday morning, May 1. Currently, $30 or more means free shipping. They prepared my shipment on Friday afternoon, and they gave it to the Post Office on Monday, May 4. My order was delivered to me on Friday, May 8. My order was packed well, and they included a small sample for free. No complaints. I would order from them again."

"The Savory Spice Shop had on its Web site a listing for "True St. Vincent Organic Arrowroot." This stuff is hard to find (and expensive), so I ordered some. A few days after it arrived, I returned to the Web site, and found that they had removed the "True St. Vincent" part from the description, which now just read: "Organic Arrowroot." That immediately caught my attention. So, I called them and asked the country of origin of their arrowroot. The woman I talked to told me it came from India or some other place, but NOT St. Vincent. (If it's not from St. Vincent, then it's not true arrowroot--it's some other starch like cassava instead.) I told her that I had recently purchased some arrowroot that was labeled (on the package) "True St. Vincent Organic Arrowroot" and wanted my money back, since it was false advertising. She said they would give me a credit as soon as I returned the item. I was shocked. I told her that they would have to pay for the shipping, since it wasn't my mistake. Then she got quite rude and snippy with me. So, I asked to talk to her supervisor, which turned out to be the owner.

The owner was polite and acknowledged that the description on the Web site had been wrong--and even the label on the package as well!!! He said that they would refund my money and that I could keep the arrowroot.

So, I got my money back, and at least the owner (but not his employee) was polite. Still, the deception was awful--if I hadn't kept a close watch on their Web site, I would have never known they had disguised another product as true arrowroot.

Be careful with this company.
