"I have been using SOS for 6 years now, and yes I have used Candle Science and Bramble berry as well, and I have had nothing but GREAT experiences, the prices are unbelievable, the product is great and I only buy ultra or extreme,so for the people crying about customer service, cry me a river, I happen to own an online company, think about this , service every state, have a policy about returns and yet you read this before buying and yet still cry....boo hoo....these are the same people who supposedly are experts right....ever hear of a test batch??? And let's not forget the human element people, awe your package was 14 days late the make a craft??? Boo hoo, you should have started sooner....Candles AND Soap both need to rest for weeks anyhoo, but professional complainers abound!!! Keep up the good work SOS, I suggest you to friends and family DAILY:-)

"UPDATE: It's January 27, and USPS has managed to determine the source of the issue. SOS put the wrong zip code on the package, leading it to bounce back and forth from IL and FL. It was SOS's fault, not the post office, and the package still has not arrived.
After waiting more than 14 days for my package, I'm done with SOS. I can see the tracking - it's not even going to the same state. When I contacted them, they threw up their hands and claimed it's USPS's fault. I doubt this very much - it sounds like they put the wrong address on the package and got it mixed up with someone else's.
But even if it is USPS's fault, Save On Scents has lost me as a customer because of their unwillingness to take responsibility. My order is small potatoes - they could have easily absorbed the cost and refilled my order like I asked, or given me a refund since this was for a holiday craft, and the holiday is nearly over. But I guess they're too busy to do their jobs - which is serve customers. They gave me the unfriendly company line over a series of emails.
See, I'm a business owner, myself. I know that there is no room for, "Well... technically, we're not responsible for..." Nope nope nope. Instead, you EAT the cost of the misplaced order and make people happy. I've done it, as has any responsible person. This doesn't happen that often, and it gets you loyalty. But SOS has lost mine with their "erm, very sorry for the delay, it's not our fault..."
Their products aren't THAT good. Steer clear if you can - you get tossed out on your ear if anything goes wrong. I'm going to dispute the charges with PayPal since they have a no return/refund policy (another red flag right there - are their products so bad that they have to close the door on them once they're out of there? Hmmmm...)"
"I got several bottles one that I was most excited about was Tom Ford's tobacco vanilla and it smells like a woman that just put sunscreen on on the beach. Coconut is not even ingredient in this cologne and it's saturated with coconut. Every cologne I've ever gotten from this company smells nothing like the real thing stay away stay away. If you want a good cologne company to purchase from use www.qfoils.com also known as quality fragrance oils. Only place I will ever purchase from again this cologne company is a joke and a rip off all mixed up into one. Tried to call to talk to someone phone rang and hung up on me."
"I have the real Moroccanoil serum (I am OBSESSED with the smell of it). This "interpretation" smells NOTHING like it. If you are looking to smell like an old lady, buy this scent. If you are looking for a dupe of Moroccanoil oil, save your money. No refunds either. Extremely disappointed."

"I'll start by saying that I have several oils from SOS that I use everyday in my business. That being said, many of their oils are good and worth buying. However, SOS has terrible customer service. I received a 2oz oil in my order that was very clearly not the one I ordered, so I called to simply ask to have the correct one sent to me. Easy, right? Wrong. I was forced to waste two days going back and forth with people at the company over a $5.85 bottle of oil because they refused to admit that a mistake was made. Their perfumer even had the gall to tell me that she was "too busy" to deal with the issue. Astonishing! I'm shocked at how much this company doesn't seem to value its loyal customer base. I placed approximately two orders a month for nearly 6 months before I had this awful experience, and I truly thought that SOS cared about their customer's satisfaction and experience up to this point. My hope is that someone at the company will reach out and apologize for making what should have been a simple issue, so trying. An acknowledgment would go a long way to making me feel better about buying from SOS going forward. "
"I've used Save On Scents for years and have had mostly very good experiences. The oils come in three concentrations, to be purchased depending on your intended usage. They have a sample program where you can buy little samples before purchasing huge quantities, and they are very communicative if you have questions or issues. The quality of the oils is generally excellent. I've only run into a few where the scent was faint or faded quickly. The selection is massive. I will continue to purchase my fragrance oils from Save On Scents and urge others to give the 'sniffie' samples a try before discounting this seller out of hand. I am not in any way affiliated with Save on Scents and I purchase routinely from several on-line fragrance oil companies."

"I bought a couple scents from them that is said to be very strong and long lasting. The smell on each scent was off from the original by a considerable degree. The scent itself was by no means strong. And it lasted about an hour. Absolute trash, not worth the time, effort, or resources. "

"I am trying to start up my own soy-based candle company that doesn't use any major scent house dupes, but I'm starting it as a hobby first.
The selection down to the exact note is incredible. I can't find any other site with such variety that isn't just a bunch of pre-blends. So despite not seeing many reviews outside of their site, I bought about 20 one oz bottles just to play around with. So far my candles have been very, very weakly-scented despite using different containers, waxes and wicks. Any attempt to blend several fragrances based on a variety of blending pyramids I've found have produced muddy scents much of the same variety. I'm using Ultra as their site suggests for soy (and I've tested Extreme) and I haven't had any more luck. I don't necessarily blame SoS as the scents are very powerful and range from very accurate scent oob to not so accurate. But I do wish they had more info on each scent whether it works well in Soy or if it doesn't.
The very first candle I made, I made using Candle Science fragrances and I eye-balled the amounts. I can't say with any certainty if SoS has weak scent oil because really just an amateur. But I can say that the test candle I made with Candle Science fragrances was much more potent and complex than any of the near 20 candles I've made with SoS fragrances since."
"I have ordered from SOS a few dozen times. First of all, their selection of oils is completely unrivaled on the internet. Almost anything your imagination can summon has already been considered and is available from SOS. From "animal cracker" to "zombie", they've got EVERYTHING. The other thing I think is great is that by offering basic, single note oils they encourage you to design your own fragrances. So many other suppliers only offer full-bodied, well-rounded fragrances fit for immediate production. With accord kits, key note fragrances and all your pure basic oils, SOS can really bring out the artist in you. Every oil is listed with a description, which really helps. You can also read reviews (left by buyers) of each individual oil on their site, which is also helpful. Unlike what a previous reviewer here said, they DO NOT remove bad reviews of oils. Just look around their site and you will see this is not the case. While all of this makes for a fantastic source of fragrance oils, I have had some negative experiences – all having to do with the 1oz sample bottles. One shipment was missing the free samples I had ordered, on another occasion one larger bottle of oil was noticeably different in character from the sample I had previewed, and once I was shipped the wrong sample oil (but with a similar name). Other than this, I have no criticisms of this company. And if that's all I need to overlook in order to do business with them, I'm happy to do so."
"I was looking for a particular scent that is hard to find. Found it at a few places, so decided to try save on scents, since it was cheaper, and after reading their reviews on their sight, most have 5 stars. Well, beware! I think they put only the good ratings on their website. I even ordered the stronger scent, not their regular scent, and it was very weak! I proceeded to call them, and the person on the phone didn't even seem like he cared. He told me that everyone says it's potent and it's one of their best sellers, which tells me he didn't trust my honesty. He then told me that they would test it out, and if they find anything wrong with it, they will surely call back. He also mentioned to me it's best to try out their sniffy samples first. Wow, how caring is that. That just tells me well, it's your tough luck, you are stuck with it now. And the price I paid was over $43! My regular fragrance suppliers oils are much stronger, cheaper, and it's their regular strength, much stronger than their ultra scent. I will not be buying from them again, and will warn many of my soaper friends not to. I rate it a no star, for no concern for the customer's satisfaction and weak fragrances, and way too high prices. Very disappointed!!! "
