Perfect

"I had read reviews on your site which honestly discouraged me from ordering there. However, I could NOT find what I needed anywhere else so I bit the bullet and ordered almost $200 worth of dishes. I was skeptical until they came and I unpacked them.
They were EXACTLY like the ones I had, in brand new condition, and not a single scratch on them. Sorry 'bout the people who had bad experiences, but I am breathing a big sigh of relief. Excellent service and product!!! BTW, prior to ordering I did call and ask questions about the stamp on the bottom, etc.

Buyer beware. Worst customer service ever

"I called customer service prior to placing the order concerned i was getting the corect order. Not once did they say you can take a picture and patch your dinner ware. I had to pay 80 bucks to return the product and then they short changed me their dhipping charges even though i was misrepresented they told me they didnt have the original phone call go figure. This is how they make their money. Stay away from this company total scam

They quote one thing, pay another

"Replacements.com quoted me $55.00 to purchase a Grand Baroque sterling silver knife then, after I had paid to ship it, were going to cut a check for $24.00, less than half what they had quoted. To add insult to injury, they wouldn’t stand behind their quote and I had to pay shipping again to get it back. In my opinion, that’s consumer fraud."

This company is ripping off customers - beware!

"I ordered $1500. worth of pottery from replacements.com as a gift for my husband. It was our wedding pattern. The customer service and shipping were excellent and I was excited to have used this company. However, upon opening the boxes, we quickly realized that much of our purchase was not what it claimed to be. Some of our order did appear to be actual Denby pottery from England. Much of our order was not. Many of the dishes were brand new (and this pattern is over 20 years old now) with no back stamp and with glaze marks on the bottom of every single piece. Some of the mugs, which we paid up to $90. US a piece for!, had an entirely different brand and the stamp "Made in China" on the back. All in all, after paying a minimum of $30 US per piece and with many pieces over $80 US each, we are furious to have been duped by what is clearly knock-off china of which we now have to begin the process of re-packaging and hoping that our money is fully refunded.

Substitutions Made

"I have made a few purchases from Replacements LTD and was very happy with the transactions. I could buy pieces from Ebay or Etsy but I bought from Replacements because they advertise that they take extra care and time to grade and properly classify each piece they sell. Unfortunately, this was not the case with my latest transaction.

On November 10, 2021 I ordered from Replacements LTD, three pieces of Harmony House china in the Rosebud pattern. One item was a 10” divided oval vegetable bowl. The items arrived on November 16 and the divided bowl was not included. Instead they had shipped an undivided 10” bowl. I called the company to inform them of the error. They promptly emailed a return label and I shipped the item back on the same day.

On November 21, the divided bowl arrived but it was not made by Harmony House, the maker’s mark on the bottom indicated it was made by some other company. I once again alerted the company of the issue and the email reply stated, “Harmony House was made in Japan. There is also just Fine China of Japan. We put the 2 together because the pattern is the same.” According to a page on Worthpoint.com, Fine China of Japan replicated the pattern after it was discontinued by Harmony House.

The bowl I purchased was advertised on their site as being made by Harmony House, it was also invoiced listing Harmony House as the manufacturer. There was no information on their site informing me that the bowl was made by another company. They do have a page stating that there may be slight variations in backstamps but this is no slight variation, this is a completely different stamp from a completely different company. I’m trying to complete my set of Harmony House china, having a piece made by another company doesn’t help fulfill that goal.

If I were to buy from Replacements again, I would need them to pull each piece I planned to buy and confirm in writing, with photos that they are as listed since I can’t take that for granted anymore.

Excellent

"I ordered from Replacements.com twice - once in 2014 and once in 2021. Both times, I got exactly what I wanted and and in great shape and quickly. The first time, I ordered some pieces to replace items from my hand-me-down set of dishes from my mom and the second time, I ordered some Coca Cola glasses I wanted that are no longer being manufactured. I don't remember the packing from the first order, but my second order was packed really well. The glasses were wrapped in brown paper with slits so that the paper would expand, then they were packed in dissolvable starch-based packing peanuts. Reducing plastic (and all waste, in general) is really important to me, so I was really happy to see that I can just rinse the packing peanuts down the sink. Yay! I think they should make this clear on the website so that people know. I also really like that I can check out as a guest and don't have to create an account. This company has been around a long time and my mother used to order from them years ago before the Internet. "

Crystal glass pattern identification

"I purchased crystal glasses with a very unusual maker's mark. I submitted a picture of my glasses to the Replacements just to satisfy my curiosity. I was so pleasant surprised when I received a call next day asking for more information about my crystal. Later I received an email with the name of the glass maker, pattern and prices! It was done so quickly and free of charge! I'm very happy with the Replacements' service and highly recommend them to all the customers! "

Lesson learned

"I was happy to use professional packing and shipping services to send my dishes to Replacements, since the "Offer to Purchase," by my calculation, was quite fair. (Very little compared to what I paid, but that was expected.) Two weeks later their email reduced that offer by a full third; pieces they would not purchase, pieces they reduced the value of claiming "repair needed" or breakage. Ultimately I netted about $1.25 per piece, and I would not have gone to the trouble had I expected this outcome. In the end I just feel fooled, but maybe a little lucky? Looks like several other people ended up losing money in their dealings with Replacements."

Impressed with their selection and care in packing

"I’ve been trying to replace broken bowls from my Portmeirion Botanic Garden collection using eBay—but the selection was minimal and the bowls expensive...then I finally realized Replacements, LTD was charging about the same amount per bowl—but with free shipping (if over $100)!—and I could get exactly the bowls I wanted. The shipping was a trifle slower than expected (not their fault, shippers are overloaded during the pandemic and delivery time predictions are more difficult to get right), but I was quite impressed by how carefully the bowls were packed: tissue and expanded paper between each bowl and rolled around them, then nestled in plenty of packing peanuts—someone would’ve had to try really hard to break them! They were perfect, and a little orange oil got the stickers off easily. They even had pictures of each bowl on the invoice, so there could be no confusion for the packers. They really have this system down; I’m impressed! I’ll keep them in mind if I need more replacements :-)

SCAM - RUN AWAY!

"On September 17, 2020 we sent 2 perfectly packaged brand new in the original box china platters to this company (my husband works for FedEx for 2 decades, so we know how to send fragile items). They were sent in 2 separate shipments. They were accepted by Replacements, Ltd and then we were notified that both were damaged with major chips and breaks. We asked for them to be returned to us at our cost and they will not return the items. It is now January 2021 and we have given up but I advise anyone else to stay clear away. What a scam - I'm sure they are not returning our items because they have sold them on their site. "

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! EVER!!

"I swear I ordered salad plates but was sent dinner plates. I did not unpack the dishes but used the labels on top of the dishes and took it to UPS (at my own expense -$28) to return. A few days later the dishes were returned (one was broken). UPS told me they refused my package. When I emailed, I was told “Too bad UPS did not tell you we do not use them.” I have never heard of anything like this! It took me over 2 months to get a fraction of my money back. There are other sites out there that sell this merchandise and are far more reputable such as Ebay or Pfaltzgraff. RUN IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING HERE!!!"

Happy, but slightly disappointed

"I have my grandmothers set of Rosenthal China that is well over 50 years old. My mother had broken three or four pieces dozens of years ago and was of course never able to replace them. I always knew about replacements but could never bring myself to truly look since I couldn't afford their prices. Recently I decided it was time to do it since I'm in a much better position for this. I found the pattern and the pieces. Then I decided to upsized my set from service for 12 to service for 18 with the thoughts that one day each of my girls would have a set. In any case, I spent several hundred dollars to do this. The pieces arrived VERY WELL wrapped and in good condition. I expected used pieces so the one cup that seemed a little stained did not bother me that much
However, what doesn't make sense to me is why some of the pieces are not as uniform as the set I have, or even as each other. Granted they are all probably from different production runs, but it seems to me that such a high end company like Rosenthal would be consistent in their products from run to run, production year to production year. So, I find that a little disappointing. What truly bothers me, though, is that less than a week after my order "shipped" I received an email ad showcasing the pieces I bought at a much lower price. That truly annoys me.
