"I ordered a RC helicopter from Red Rocket. It was a helicopter with excellent reviews and was difficult to locate a seller who had one in stock. Red Rocket had what I was looking for, and I placed an order. This was my first experience with Red Rocket. They filled my order for both the helicopter as well as some additional parts precisely as I had ordered. It was received in excellent condition, and the machine flew as advertised. A month later, although I am a beginner, it is still flying like a champ. I have been well pleased with Red Rocket."

"I wish I'd found this website earlier. I ordered a Slo-V from Red Rocket hobbies; the airplane arrived with one non-functional servo. Red Rocket said it wasn't their problem and directed me to contact the manufacturer. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this response, and they canceled my account. I know I won't do business with them again, and I doubt they'll stay in business much longer when they treat their customers like this. Red Rocket has developed a reputation, and it's NOT a good one."

"I placed an order for parts for a model helicopter over the weekend through them. On Monday, the order was shipped, and arrived on Thursday. Due to the size of the items ordered, they were packed in a small, padded envelope. Items were exactly what I ordered and in perfect condition. Their site is easy to browse, to find a particular product. They have a decent inventory of parts for the RC model I own.

"I have ordered from Red Rocket 4 or 5 times. I have never had any problem with the quality of the merchandise or wrong items shipped. the shipping is not lightning fast but they get it out in a couple days. The last order I got from them included two wings for a plane. When I received them they had been severely crushed in shipment. I sent an email to them telling them about it and sent them a picture of the wings. The next thing I heard from them was an email saying they were sorry and that they had shipped two more, no questions asked. Great! I like that, for once a store didn't act like I was trying to get over on them. I plan on ordering from them again in the near future."

"Beware of this seller. Red Rocket Hobby Shop offers its products through its own web site and Amazon Marketplace, but did not deliver on order placed through the Amazon marketplace. The seller is located in Oregon, and unless you are located next door, will likely cancel your order with a claim that either 1) it is too expensive to ship to you with the postal rate increases, or 2) you would be much happier with a retailer located closer to your location where shipping may be quicker and cheaper. If they offer a product with a advertised shipping charge, you should expect them to fulfill the order.

Much of this appears to be a strategy to avoid negative reviews and feedback, especially on a shared marketplace like Amazon where reviews can not be placed for canceled orders. So if you are not patient with their slow service and shipping (7 days after order placed), you will likely find your order simply canceled once you raise any questions regarding status or shipping time.

The customer service was actually prompt in responding to concerns regarding order status, but this was the only positive. But promptly canceling an order due to the risk of negative feedback is a sure warning sign."
