Great photo paper, reasonable prices, quirky website, non-caring management, self-righteous attitude

"I love the few products (photo-printer paper) that I've been buying from Red River for the last 6 years.
But, every time I need to order something, I am dreading doing it. Almost every time, there is something awkward.
The worse is that when I call the customer service and tell them about the problem, they always say that it is the way they do their business.

One example that many customers complained about so much that the store has finally posted a notice about that, - the "paper sample kits" a labeled on the front side, making those unusable in the size they come in (you'd have to trim the print to a smaller size making it a headache). For comparison, some other paper retailers label papers in their sample kits on the back side, and often with an inconspicuous color-coded dot.

Most recently, I've wasted close to $50, because of the website: I decided to use the seemingly convenient feature: "Quick reorder". From there, I clicked on the paper I had ordered before, and ordered a pack. What I did not notice is that it took me to a more general page for the product with many different sizes and variations, and the first item it showed me was for a different size of that paper (7"x10" instead of 8.5"x11"/letter )
When I called, they've offered me to return the paper and re-order the right size - but shipping it back would cost well over $15, plus $9 for shipping the new order, - that is a half of the cost of the paper I ordered.

And, don't trust the reviews on their own website: At the time of writing they have "1562 Company Reviews" with the average score of "5". It looks like negative reviews are removed / unpublished. I had submitted mine at the end of 2020, and it is not there.

The only reason I am still using them is that they have a few good papers for which I cannot find reasonable replacement elsewhere. The moment I do, I'd be so relieved.

Dishonest and Rude -

"The paper sent to me was curled/warped. Spoke to Kayla who said she was the Director of Operations. I have never in 25 years been treated with so much disrespect as I have with this woman. She tried to tell me (blame me) that the paper curled the minute I opened the box because I either have too much humidity (snow outside) or lack of humidity ( dry cold weather) I informed her one box was flat, the other two were curled, and did not curl before my eyes. (I am actually rolling my eyes now) Then she said I left it sit in the box too long before opening. Untrue again Kayla. It was delivered to me and I opened within 10 minutes. Then she told me to run my shower and leave the paper sitting in the next room. She also said because I do not have a hydrometer to measure the humidity in my house they are not responsible. OMG! Then trying to get it replaced was a nightmare that lasted half a day. She calls me back and says they paper they have is curling as well. They are going to replace it next day air. However, if there is curling again, then they WILL NOT replace or refund. Excuse me? Then Kayla emails me and says they are out of stock and wants to send me a different paper altogether. I wanted to upgrade and pay the difference but she said they were out of stock. Never will I order form this company. I requested to speak with the owner Drew. But she refused to let me. I hope he realizes how ferrell she is to customers."

BEWARE RED RIVER PAPER COMPANY!

"BEWARE RED RIVER PAPER COMPANY!!!!!

I received a severely damaged 24" roll of inkjet paper from Red River Paper, and reported it to them as soon as I opened and attempted to use it. They have refused to replace the paper because I reported it later than 45 days after delivery. This clearly indicates how Red River Paper treats its customers when problems arise!

CAVEAT EMPTOR - BEWARE RED RIVER PAPER COMPANY!!!

"I've dealt with Red River for years and have come to count on them for high quality, reasonably priced photo papers and inks. Their web site is outstanding, providing the information necessary to use their products effectively. Service is tops and their shipping is extremely dependable. Red River can be highly recommended. "Red River Paper sells pro quality photo printer paper. Their web site is incredibly useful and makes it easy to order paper for your specific printer. They also have freely downloadable profiles for their paper, making it easy to produce very high quality color corrected prints.

I ordered one of their very handy sampler packets. It included 18 different paper samples! I also ordered some large 17x25 sheets for my new wide format printer. I cannot rave enough about the ease of purchase, the fast confirmation, the fast shipping, and the highest quality packaging I've ever seen.

I highly recommend this outfit and will be shopping there again!

"My order was placed on a Tuesday and arrived to my house the following Thursday, two days later. I am pleased with the papers that I received, exactly as ordered, and with six extra bonus papers for printing, to try the new line of papers that Red River developed. I am pleased with the number of papers offered in the sample photo pigment ink pack, 34 papers, plus the bonus papers, all 8.5x11 in size. I will shop there again, highly recommended store."
