"I ordered a Nabaztag:tag (Smart Bunny) from them, two days later they informed me that they were out of stock of it. I figured that would be okay since the company that makes them went bankrupt, but the site still says that they have 995 in stock. I figured something was up and I'm glad I visited here to see all the awful reviews of this place so I could stomp out their authorization on my credit card before it went through."

"By all means STAY AWAY from http://shopping.redorbit.com/home.php. The site looks legitimate and is well maintained but as soon as you purchase something with a credit card, they’ve got you. On March 11, 2008 I purchased a new Sony PS3. The next day I received an email saying that it wasn’t available from the distributor, would I like to cancel? I emailed back confirming I wanted to cancel. This was acknowledged and I was told that my credit card would be credited $537 within the next few days.

When I received my statement on April 9th, the charge was still on with no credit. Over the next two days I emailed and called (only phone message was available, no person) at least 3 time each. Finally, I received an email on April 14th, containing the following text from Joel. “I have sent an urgent request to our finance department to take care of this issue. If you do not see a charge back on your card within the next several days please contact me and I will make another request.” It is now April 23rd and no credit has been issued. I finally called my credit card company to let them handle it.

STAY AWAY FROM RedOrbit.

"I placed an order for an Epson Stylus Pro 4800, showing 3 in stock. The next day I receive an email saying they are on backorder and I can wait three weeks for another one. Payment was taken at point of sale and am awaiting my credit back. After the email, the website still shows 3 in stock. I actually *tried* to check stock before the order, four calls total over 6 hours, a voicemail was left the first call. I never talked to anyone, nor received a call back over those calls made during their business hours. "

"I am very disappointed in the service provided by RedOrbit. I placed an online order with overnight shipping on Wednesday. A service rep called to confirm my order shortly after.

The next day, I did not receive my order, and called RedOrbit to obtain a tracking number. No one answered my call, so I left a voicemail, which was never returned. Another member of my organization was also unable to reach anything but voicemail, despite many attempts throughout the evening.

Two days later, I called and left messages at several different voice mailboxes (never returned). I e-mailed the customer service department, who informed me that my order would not ship until possibly Monday.

I find it completely unacceptable that I was not informed there was a problem with my order until two days after it was supposed to have been shipped. I believe no one would have contacted me at all if I hadn't been persistent.

If you want your product on time or you want to be able to speak with a customer service department, shop elsewhere.

"These guys are so unprofessional if not scammers. I ordered a few items, they told me they were out of stock and cancelled my order. Two days later you could still see the same item (702 available) on their website. Even though they cancelled my order I later realized that my credit card was charged. This is not acceptable at all! "

"If you happen to visit redorbit store, RUN AWAY!
They systematically lie showing they have products in stock. Once I placed the order, they IMMEDIATELY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD, and days later they informed me that the item was not available, forgetting, so far, to credit the money back.
This store should be banned from the web.

"Placed an order on 12/22/2006. Received an automated e-mail a day later that my order was at the "in processing" stage. By their own transaction structure, this should take "3-24 hours" to confirm and then my card would be charged. 5 days later, still "in processing" and despite the site saying I would note be charged, I had been charged on 12/27/06...yes my order went nowhere.

I realize that holidays can back things up, so I gave it until the 12/29/06 until I sent a support ticket. Received no response. Sent another one 1/02/07, finally someone got back to me and said they would find a tracking number for me, and apologized for the "automated e-mail" problem. However, my order didn't even ship, so how could I get a tracking number? They didn't even answer my question, because I wanted to get a status update.

Send a THIRD e-mail 1/08/07, same guy finally said my order hadn't even been processed. But he would put it on rush. And I would receive it in 2-3 business days.

Horrible. My order wasn't even processed after over TWO weeks, and it probably wouldn't have even been shipped had I not kept sending support tickets! Redorbit's tracking system is inefficient, unresponsive, and unreliable. I'm usually the forgiving type as I understand how the business process works, but this was flatout ridiculous.

1/10/07: They sent me an incomplete order AND the wrong item! This is BS.. I can't understand how they can botch up such a simple order. Two of the same item. Now I have to go through the returns process and wait another who knows how long for them to correct it--if they even have the item I wanted in stock!

2/3/07 After going through returns process, I still HAVE NOT received refund. Filed complaint with BBB.

"Their web site isn't all that fancy, and it kept showing "processed" for my order. Fortunately, they actually shipped it the next business day after they got my order, and the next day I got the e-mail saying that it had shipped and gave me the tracking number. When I checked the UPS web site, it was already on the truck for delivery! Their prices are good and I'll definitely order from them again."

"Awful. Avoid! I ordered a TV from them because they came up cheapest on mysimon.com. I should have known something was up because their website is crummy, but then I got a call from someone confirming my order which made me feel good. Then two days later, someone called and said "We can't ship this product to your area because we don't have manufacturer authorization to ship to that state yet."

What a load of bull! This place is a bucketshop and is to be avoided.

"I placed my order on Saturday and have yet to receive any confirming email. On their account site I see where it shows the status of my order as processed but nothing to indicate at what stage. When I've tried to contact them thru their toll free no. all I get is voice mail and it tells me that the sales and customer support mailboxes are both full and then it disconnects. I sent an email yesterday asking for status of my shipment since I paid for 2nd Day Air but with no response thus far. Their prices are good but with this kind of service I will not be back to shop again. If I'm wrong and they do respond within the next 12 to 24 hours I will update this response I'm posting.

As a follow-up I was just contacted by Eric of RedOrbit this evening and he explained how over the past several days they experienced a server meltdown which created problems with the auto emails confirming the orders as well as backing up in their email que all of the recent messages. At this point I believe they deserve another chance with my business based on his explanation of events and his sincere apology. He's offered to credit my 2nd day shipping I paid for and I'm looking forward to working with them again.

"Ordered two INWIN computer cases 9/5/2006, and received order confirmation email immediately. Received the shipping notification email 24 hours later. And got the order 9/12/2006 as expected (UPS Ground), in product's original boxes. Luckily, no damage, not even the boxes, that's rare. Very satisfied with this order and service. But website could need more work. I didn't find the case thru their web site catalog, which is really hard to navigate. I found it thru search engine, and discovered this store. Product is priced a few cents cheaper than Newegg, but they charge much less than Newegg for shipping. Definitely will do business again with them, if search engine point to them again :-) I don't think I can ever find the product I want thru their web catalog..."

"Well, they seemed pretty easy to order from and everything went pretty smoothly until I opened the box they sent me. They sent me the wrong item >:-( I have tried contacting their customer support as well but no luck. AFAIK email is the only way they have listed and I have yet to get a response. For now I would stay away.

Update: Customer service eventually did get ahold of me. They paid for return shipping which was a plus unfortunately they didn't get me the item I orriginally wanted :(
