"I submitted a request to Realtor.com for more info on a property. Some young **** who coordinates referrals (I guess) called me to ask if I was a first time home buyer. My inquiry was for a tract of land-not a home. He apparently didn't look at the request. Then he asks if I am working with a broker-I am I say. He asks if I would be willing to work with a different broker because they only deal w/the top selling 15% of brokers. Wow. Pretty crappy to attempt to steal business from other brokers.I JUST wanted the listing agent to tell me how much of the land was cleared and useable for pasture. Finally got **** off and hung up! Never did get the info I wanted...and someone lost a potential sale. "
"I signed up for the free trial and some of the real restate agents listed on their are so rude. I was doing my research and a few homes I liked, I get a text message from one of their restate agents telling me, "Are you going to buy 1234 Street Ave or not?" I replied back with, "Maybe." The person replied back with, "Don't waste my time or I'll cancel your membership." I added him to the spam list. I set up a few appointments with some of them and some didn't show up on time. Those I've met with were really pushy real restate agents trying to push a sale on me without telling me about the home's previous owners nor answering my specific question.
I have to agree with paudajs about the fraudulent home listings! There were some homes I liked and wrote the address down to visit them in person. On the website, it says the home is for sale and the outside pictures were correct. Upon arriving at these homes, I knocked on the door to see if people were still living there, I found out that many of them were in fact living there and their homes were not for sale or they were bought already and had moved in. What a waste of my time and money!!!
There were also listings I bookmarked in my internet browser to go back to but some of them stop working. I googled the address and there were zero results found. If you want to cancel your membership, you have to call them unlike the other websites. They cancel my membership and I haven't been charge yet, so this is the only good thing from them.
Overall, I don't recommend this website because of the above. What I recommend is you to google the address to see if its listed on other websites. If it's not listed then the home list could be made up or is a bait just to get you to sign up for the free trial. That's what happen to me."
"Be aware of fraudulent postings. Realtor.com is NOT proactive about removing or investigating fraudulent postings. I am a Resident Manager for a building and noticed a fake/fraud posting under my building address. I tried multiple ways of reporting the unit to Realtor.com: filled out form, emailed customer svc, etc. It has been a week and the fraudulent posting is still active. I keep getting calls from prospective renters about it this fake posting. Realtor.com needs to have a dedicated team to address the fraudulent postings that the site is perpetuating...stealing thousands of dollars from good people! This is a serious issue that needs responsible website management. "
"A waste of a site, search is unable to search for homes in 2 adjoining cities without re-inputing information, The flash ads intrude on all pages making it unreadable, and unusable. Pop up menus lock the screen forcing a refresh of site. Someone paid big bucks for this crap, there is too much money in real estate it makes good people buy crap."
