"Classic bait a switch.

Order a Samsung UN65HU8550 for $1,800. Receive an email 3 days later that I must contact them. Upon calling them, they informed me the unit I purchased was for the "international" version of this TV which does not have a warranty. If I wanted to buy the "USA" version of this TV I would need to pay them additional $500 for a total of $2,200.

The crooks at bigboxsuperstore.com have been reported to the BBB (where they have an F rating) and to the Attorney General in Florida.

"I placed an order (#23759) on Sunday Nov. 30th for a 75" Samsung TV (UN75H6530), for the price of $1,859.00. I received an email promptly notifying me of my order. Then I received an email on Dec. 2 saying I had to call in to verify my order. I called literally 10 times and couldn't get through to anyone. Next day I got another email saying I needed to call to verify. I tried to call in 10 times AGAIN, and still no answer. Wrote them an email back saying no one was answering phones and they needed to call me, but nothing. Received ANOTHER email from them on the 4th saying to call in to verify the order. I called in and finally connected with someone and they said that the TV's were back ordered, and that it would be shipping on Tues Dec. 9th, and that's when my card would be charged. I called in today, Wednesday Dec. 10th, to check in as I hadn't gotten an update, and they told me that apparently I cancelled the order. I told them that I didn't and that they needed to listen to the recorded conversation and they refused to do so. They said, "Why would we cancel your order? You must have done it." Why on earth would I cancel my own order, saving thousands of dollars, and then call back in to see what the status was!?!?! They are a bunch of frauds, liars, and cheats. They said they could put in a new order for a TV but it would cost $400 more than what I had originally ordered it for! This is absolutely absurd. This is one of many reviews I will be posting on many different sites to make sure NO ONE orders from them! STAY AWAY!!!!"

"Beware of DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES of this company. I ordered a Samsung TV, same model number as those featured at Costco, Amazon, and Best Buy. A few days after the order was accepted, they emailed saying "Order Pending. Contact us." In short, they called to let me know I had purchased a "commercial model" that did not have all the smart hub and other features; also said it only had a 3 month warranty when their site says "full US Manufacturer's Warranty". The "residential model", of course, would cost far more money. BIG SCAM. Do not listen to other reviews.

UPDATE - Received a call from Joseph. Explained difference between residential and corporate products and offered to sell me a residential one at a higher price. Since the price still beat others, I got it and am happy with it. I still believe this site does not adequately inform consumers. I missed other Black Friday sales by choosing this vendor. Joseph did make good on the sale, but I'm leary of any vendor that does not clearly state what you are getting.

"First let me say that I am a very savvy buyer. I worked for a major news house for over 20 years. I purchased a 65" Samsung TV UN65HU8550 online from this company. I figured they were not legit so I documented everything with screen shots and recordings. The order went through on Cyber Monday, the price being very low. Sure enough I receive an email stating that my order woudn't be complete until I received confirmation. I called their phone over 5 days in the next 2 days but voice mail was always full. I emailed them as well as they sent me emails stating that the order was ready for processing however I needed to verify the model. I just got off the phone with them and sure enough they said the model I order wasn't to be shipped to a residence it was meant for commerical use! You've got to be kidding. If you look up the model number NOWHERE does it say that. He said that this model didn't come with, remote, cable, free shipping, 3d glasses and more. He said that for an additional $800 I could receive the residential model. I explained to him that I had taken a screen shot of their advertisement and no where did it say any of this. They are a scam company and I will be following up with an expose'on Television next month. Stay tuned and STAY AWAY from these crooks."

"What a scam..... Call the Attorney General's Office.... Placed an order for an 80 inch television including free shipping and 2 extra freebies on Thanksgiving day (pre-Black Friday) as advertised @ 60% below retail price. Received a phone call suggesting that I purchased a commercial model vs a residential model and there was to be a price difference. (A Sharp LC80UQ17U AQUOS 80 inch Q+ Series LED is just what it is.... there is not a commercial vs a residential model.) Once we got through the fact that I wanted the model that I ordered at the price quoted, I was then informed that the order was tentative until I agreed to pay an additional $600 for a "freight insurance policy". I've never heard of a merchant charging a consumer an additional fee for an insurance policy to cover the risk of shipping damages arising from the carrier that the merchant chose to ship with. I asked to research the insurance issue and I would get back later that day. I found an independent freight insurance carrier who would insure the shipment for a dollar value well over the replacement value of the unit, and at less than $100. I spent the next 2 days trying to contact customer service at Big Box Superstore to finalize the order. After 3 emails and 30 phone calls later I finally reached someone to finalize my order. I was informed at this time that my order was canceled as of the day we discussed the mandate to accept their additional charges. I was also informed that if I still wanted to purchase the unit I would now have to reorder it and since the sale had ended I would not be able to take advantage of their sale price. Their business model is to take your payment information but not submit charges until they "finalize the order" which gives them the opportunity to change, up sell, or get you to agree to pay extra for a previously undisclosed, yet mandatory item like "freight insurance". They technically do not have a buy-sell contract since they did not submit charges. If you question or refuse to accept the additional charges they cancel your tentative order. The fantastic deal that you thought you were getting was not officially binding since they did not submit charges to your credit card. I experienced bait and switch, false or misleading advertising, as well as extremely poor customer service. If anyone knows a class action attorney looking to take on a consumer protection claim let me know. And by the way, I went back to their online store and found the exact television was still advertised at the exact sale price that I originally found earlier.

Review Update. Joseph, after submitting this review, reached out to contact me. He explained the difference between the "corporate" and "residential" models as follows... Corporate models do not have all of the features or apps to function in typical USA residential setting. These models would be sold to a corporation who might use them for marketing, or used in a residence within a foreign country like one in South American where the additional features or apps would not work.

The additional $600 freight charge explanation... Since I ordered a TV larger than that which a single person could deliver, they had to assess an additional handling fee. (His colleague misspoke referring to it as Freight Insurance) He also indicated that their website was technologically inferior and it could not identify purchases that exceeded this threshold and thus could not stop the purchase process after placing the unit in the cart and prior to finalizing the "tentative" order. They had to call and inform these consumer of the additional charges after-the-fact.
I asked Joseph to give me a quote for the corporate model including all charges. He quoted me $3,250 for $3,999 model, including the wall mount ($150 value) and HDMI cable ($140 value) for free, and without the additional $600 "Freight Insurance" charge. The HDMI cable that I received can be purchased directly from amazon for $9.00, and the wall mount was rated for a maximum of 125 lbs where the TV that I purchased weighted 138 lbs.

At the end of the day.... buyer beware.

"I am updating my review. It is still very confusing when you are looking at the TVs on the website to understand that there is a huge difference between the "Commercial" and "Residential" versions of the TVs. 95% of people will not want the Commercial version. One of the managers worked with me on fixing my purchase and gave me the residential TV I wanted at a very good price. I will update this review again once I receive the TV."

"Its not worth the hassle and double talk you have to deal with from them. I ordered a un78hu9000 and didn't hear from them for a couple of days so I called to ask the status of my order. They asked if I wanted the commercial version. I asked what does that mean? They said the screen is out sourced and it doesn't have smart hub or 3d and the warranty is 90 days.Their ad says: USA model with full manufacturer warranty's (1 yr parts and labor). So then the price went up $1270!Bait and switch! I wish I would have checked this site before dealing with them."

"It has been a week and they have not shipped the TV. They sent me an email two days ago asking me to call customer service because there is confusion about the model number I ordered. This makes no sense because the TV model number is clearly listed on the invoice. I have called customer service at least 20 times - most of the time the line is busy, and the few times I got through and am transferred to a customer service agent the phone disconnects after ringing twice. No response to emails sent.

Do not purchase from this company.

"I bought 65" samsung tv from bigboxsuperstore.com; when after 2 days I asked when they would ship. They informed me they had not charged my card , and if I still wanted the tv it would cost $500 more that the invoice I had printed out at the time of purchase.They tried tell what a good deal the higher price was. they are not someone I would buy from."

"After some initial dissatisfaction with this company (hence only 3 or 4 instead of all 5 stars) in terms of the pricing and product being different than what I thought was originally advertised, I was called by a senior sales manager who had noticed I had cancelled my order and he rectified the situation. He apologized for any confusion, agreed to nearly match the original order and upgrade the shipping. I saved hundreds of dollars for the same product over other similar items.

The company can offer significant savings relative to other, well known companies, but you need to make sure you read the fine print. Overall they were very apologetic and seemed genuinely important to them that they keep me not just as a customer, but a happy one.
