"Having placed orders in the past with Randy Howse and being satisfied with the product, we placed a new order for some oak doors and hardware on October 20. It was paid by credit card, of course, the amount was charged immediately. We've tried calling and emailing the company numerous times in an effort to find out the status of our order. Even a fax will not go through - we get a message stating to call the recipient to make sure their fax is ready to receive faxes. As of today, 12-06-2010, we are calling our bank to report the fraud and have the funds recalled from Howse's bank. Not sure yet if we will succeed, but are going to try. As a previous reviewer staed, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!"
"STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! read my tale below.
Do not make the mistake I made by ordering from Randy Howes. I ordered 6 cathedral doors and 2 drawer fronts. I was assured delivery in 3 weeks. 3 weeks pass and I'm told they will ship the following week. The following I am told that they have made the doors but their sander is broken, so they will need to remake the doors. Next call they offer me a refund -- during this frustrating part of my interaction with them they rarely returned an email and never returned a phone call and to be more insulting it would take several days of repeated calls get a customer service rep on the phone -- I opted for the refund. Now begins the real fun. They owed me $297.00, right? refund the money, I paid with a credit card. Simple. Refund my credit Card. After repeated calls and emails and more calls and more emails they finally respond and acting surprised, tell me they'll care of it immediately-- two more weeks pass -- I start calling and sending emails again. Finally I get a reply I get an email telling me they have switched credit card companies and are overnighting a check to me. A month, many non replied to emails, not returned phone calls and 4 additional "checks going out today, we'll send you a tracking number" promises later I receive a check from them. It is a business check from a Canadian Bank -- I loose on the exchange of Canadian Dollars to American Dollars, plus my bank charges $10.00 for an international check!!! --which may take up to 2 months to clear -- that is if it is actually legitimate.
So if you want to give these people your money they'll take it, produce nothing and torture you to get it back -- 3 months after I placed a simple order the check still hasn't cleared
