Awful

"They can't get basic seating right. I have seats 27 and 28. They aren't near each other! The entire train is up in arms about seat assignments and it's all thanks to rail Europe not knowing anything about the actual train. So why are you selling a promise you can't keep?

Do not book with them. Book directly.

Beware of

"We were on a train that was supposed to go from The Hagg to Zurich but it stopped in Basil and we had to scramble find another train. The first train the seats were prepaid and with a table. The second train was standing room only. So we stood in crowded conditions for an hour with no masks being worn. "

Avoid at all cost - not covid safe

"BEWARE this company is a scam. Reposting my review everywhere because the company keeps trying to flag my review as false... DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Contracted covid while abroad and had to cancel my train ticket with Rail Europe. This was a $500 train ride in Switzerland and they REFUSED to refund me. I shared all of my covid results and a proof of contraction from a pharmacy. They still wouldn't give me my money back for a trip I could not take due to COVID!! Insanely terrible business practices. I really hope they go out of business.

False & Misleading Sales Practices

"RailEurope will sold me tickets marketed as "fully refundable for free prior to the date of travel". However when I contacted them to refund these "fully refundable tickets", they have refused to give me back my money.

They are hiding behind a vague statement buried in the fine print of the email I received AFTER purchase that says "some tickets *might* be non-refundable" when you download a copy. However this is after the specific booking conditions in the email stating that my tickets ARE fully refundable for free. One naturally interprets the entirety of the email to say that fully refundable tickets are still just that, regardless of ticket downloarding.

RailEurope tries to pass off the blame on the train operator, but as the ticket seller and the authorized distributor, RailEurope has a duty to its consumers to CLEARLY communicate the terms and conditions of the ticket booking. This is particularly true as Rail Europe holds itself out as an expert in European train travel and is marketed heavily to those of us who are not experienced. The company then should not be misleading consumers with loopholes and contradictory statements. RailEurope is misleading consumers and pocketing the extra money as a result.

Poor Customer Service

"We are in the middle of a Pandemic, Airlines, Hotels and Cruise liners are refunding back money no question ask no matter the booking.
RailEurope.com are not. They are not giving money back for bookings after 4th May. The world must be misinformed, the Pandemic must have finished after 4th May.

They are allowing us to use our tickets for same journey until 31 Oct 2020. Clearly they don't know that the Pandemic is still happening an NO one is aloud to leave their country to travel.

I live in Australia, i cannot leave my country, I cannot use our tickets!!!

They just steeling peoples money now to profit from this, it's not my fault i cannot travel!! If i was cancelling under a different circumstance i would understand not getting my money. They clearly don't want people using their service in the near future and don't care about word of mouth

Unacceptable customer service during this time. I have spent $76,000 of my inheritance on this once in a lifetime trip that i cannot take.

100% Scam

"I ordered rail tickets that they did not send to me and was charged over $700. Sadly, I learned about their horrible reputation after the fact. My credit card company finally refunded me the money after a long dispute process. Stay away from these people."

"We are a tour company, we have used RailEurope for two years now. They have messed up almost all of our bookings. Names misspelled, miss information, they tell they have sent us the tickets, they never show up. Miss bookings. They never read a complete email. Never answer all of your questions. NO 24 SUPPORT.

DO NOT USE! YOU WILL BB VERY SORRY

And on top of everything else,they do not care, they act like it is your fault.

Did I mention that you will be very sorry if you use them?

Scam company!!!

"This is an unprofessional illegitimate company. I purchased tickets for a total value of $184 and I never received the tickets in time prior to my departure. I emailed the company 6 times asked them to send me electronic tickets via email or refund my tickets since I had purchased rail protection and no one ever replied to me. I’m currently disputing the claim with my debit card. This company needs to be investigated by the FTC and a class action lawsuit should be considered. "

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !!

"WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !! - You cannot get hold of them on the Phone ever !! -The Only way is through the "Contact Us" Page on their website - and they don't ever respond to your emails-there is no way you can get any help with your bookings with them !! We simply used different Credit Cards for our Bookings and we all assigned to Different Coaches !!- and there was no help to cancel and rebook using a same card later on.."

Terrible Service

"The website is OK for booking tickets but terrible if you want to change, contact them or get more info later.
Avoid using them. Go straight to the train company in the country you travel, eg Renfe in Spain.

Great experience

"Im not sure about all the negative comments about Rail Europe. I rather had a very pleasant experience with them. My tickets transactions went smoothly. I got a great deal on business class tickets from Paris to Switzerland. They kept sending me emails about my upcoming trip and help numbers to contact if there is any problem while I was abroad.

Never buy with rail europe

"I purchased global pass twice by mistake and i just
Wanted to cancel them both before order invoicing. So I sent an email right after. They didnt listen to me and charged me one. It costs 40 bucks to send it back with Express delivery and 7 days later, I contacted them if you have my eurail pass. He said he didnt get it. So I contacted ups and ups said he sent it and they got it. I keep sending messages emails and finally they are processing refund. And I get only 78% of original price

"Would not credit or refund me for a fare I booked inadvertently on wrong day despite the fact that I requested a refund/ re- book about sixteen hours later. Chose another rail line for this trip and will never use them. I will file a dispute with my credit card issuer as well. "

Do not do business with Rail Europe

"The entire experience with Rail Europe was a complete night mare from the get go.
I ordered two train fares for both me and my wife. The website processed my order and charged me the full amount for the tickets. This is where the night mare began and it has not ended. When it came time to print the tickets, yo were prompted to click on the print icon to print the tickets. The print icon did not respond and no instructions were given to secure the tickets. The email received specifically stated that the email conformation could not serve as your ticket. I tried using the chat room and the woman I was chatting with just disappeared never to be heard from. Then I tried to send and email and had no response. As a last resort i called the companies corporate office in White Plains, NY and guess what, all of their agents were busy, so was put on hold for hours. Bottom line this company is the worst nightmare I have ever encountered.

Being Proactive is bad

"I booked my trip for Paris to Lille to early. I accidentally booked our tickets for the week after we are scheduled to be there. I noticed this within the hour of me booking them. I contacted the company via chat and sat for a long time and in the mean time contacted them via email. I was told that because I booked the "early book" tickets there is no exchange or refund. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY IS THIS!!!! Do not use there service! I should have known it was a joke when I realized there was no number to call if I had an issue!"
