"I am a repeat customer at Racks and Stands having purchased the Plateau SL-3V TV stand just recently and the Wood Technology DVD Spinning Tower (TO-1260-E) and Audio Cabinet (AR-53-E) back in spring of 2006. All items came in a timely fashion without a hitch. I was especially concerned about the TV stand since it included (3)glass shelves. Racks and Stands is my first stop whenever I am researching AV furniture and accessories and I would definitely purchase from them again."

"Placing the order was fast and easy. Item (Tech-Craft SWP60) was shipped on the same day. I received the order in two days with free standard shipping. Unit was well packaged but upon inspection I found a part with damage (quite severe) that most likely occurred in packaging at the manufacturer. Called customer service on Sunday and to my surprise received the replacement part on Thursday with no questions asked, no hassle, free shipping and very friendly staff. Will be ordering from this company again. "

"Product was not as advertised and Racks and Stands refuses to do the right thing.

I ordered a Leslie Dame CD-280 - Deluxe Multimedia Storage Rack in Oak. The product that was delivered was not the same as the one advertised. The product was advertised as:

Solid Wood Veneer over MDF (medium density fiberboard)
Heavy Duty Construction
Weight of 70 lbs.
Free Delivery

The product I received was:

Plastic laminate over wafer board
Light weight construction
Weight of less than 35 lbs.

When I asked to return the product, they insisted on charging me outbound shipping as well as return shipping which meant my total outlay would equal the original advertised price of the product. Racks and Stands sold me a product by fraudulent means and will not make good on it. I have asked them repeatedly to refund my purchase price in full and to pay for return shipping of the product. They have stopped responding to my correspondence.

"I have had a pretty negative experience with my first time order with Racks & Stands. I ordered a TV stand on March 26, 08 and got a note back which said my order would be shipped as early as April 2nd. It is May 2nd and I just found out that my order was picked up yesterday to be shipped. I had to call at least five times during this time period and had very courteous customer service agents, I did not get a correct answer to when my order was going to be shipped. A couple of times I was told to believe that the order was in stock which was not the case. I could understand a mishap or overlooking but I did not get a courtesy note to explain why my order was delayed. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience it will be unlikely that I will consider them again. After all they did not offer to send it expedited either. I will give them 1 out of 5/10 for their service on my order .If this feedback is at all important to them I will say that they could have still made it a better experience (w/ all the delay etc) for me so easily by sending informative/correct notes. "

"I ordered the Peerless
Wall-Mounted Electronics Tower with 4 Arms. I had made a price match request and then placed the order. I made the mistake of not waiting for the price match email reply. They did honor the price match, and beat the price by a good amount in the reply email but it didnt apply to my order. I called Customer Service and explained my situation. At first they said they cant honor the price match because I submitted it after I placed my order. Then he looked into my order info and seen I didnt even take delivery yet, so they honered the price. I have seen on my bank statement that they did in fact refund the differance! I thank you guys for that.

A few days after I placed my order I recieved an email stating my order shipped and included my tracking number. The package arrived and everything was great. I was worried about the 4 glass shelves but they were packaged well and arrived unscathed. My only complaint, and its minor, is I ordered the white version of the stand. The rack had some scratchs and smudge marks. I was able to wipe it down and get most of the smudges out but the small scratches remain. You can hardly see them unless up close, and I dont fault racksandstands for that. Overall im very happy and will be back, I need 3 more LCD mounts, and 1 entertainment center!

"I ordered a TV stand from this company and it was delivered a week later by Fedex ground. However, it arrived damaged. I was reassured by email that they would replace any damaged parts so I accepted the shipment. However, after I signed for the shipment, they directed me to call the manufacturer directly. I was unable to reach the manufacturer due to indefinite hold. I did not receive any response to my subsequent emails. "

"Horrible service and DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!
I made my order on the 22nd AUG. One the confirmation says "the item is not valid until AUG 27". Fine. I wait. No feedback on the 27th, the 28th. I have to call them the 29th. The first guy I spoke to named "MARC S.", he said no information yet. But he would check for me...couple mins later, he said sorry, they do not what happened, asked me call back later the afternoon. Later he sent me an email saying "I apologize for the delay in shipping the item, but this will ship today." I called them again saying I am not staying at home waiting for my order which they could not provide a tracking number! The guy who answered my phone said they did ship out yesterday but sorry no tracking number! What a company??? Shipped out but no tracking number??? He said that they will send me a tracking number in the next couple days! And I will receive my order around Sep 15-17, because it's free shipping. I pointed out that they are liars - they didn't mention on my confirmation that I will receive your order one month later...I will go back to work on the ship and will not be home in 6 months. They didn't allow me to cancel my order and said that they are going to ship me in 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been purchasing thru internet a lot, but this company - I will never come again. Be cautious, do not believe them with the free shipping. I hate them the most - no integrity.

"These folks are the real deal! Price matched plus. Received order in less than five days. They sent email regarding shipping and another to follow-up to make sure I had received my VTI speaker stands.

Young man I spoke with on the phone was polite, professional and helpful. He even spent additional time trying to locate a "riser" to separate my AV receiver and cable box (to no avail).

Very pleased with price, shipping, communication and service. Highly recommended, without any reservation.

Great experience!

UPDATE: Happened to notice a powder coat finish problem with one pole. Called R&S and they emailed me a copy of order to VTI to replace while on the phone. Replacement arrived a few days later. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Repaid their service by ordering a pair of Wood Technology stands from R&S.

"Before purchasing a couple of items (TV stand and audio equipment rack - both Bello) from racksandstands.com, I called them up to verify that the items I wanted were in stock. The girl in customer service was very nice and helpful. She offered to let me do the order over the phone, but I told her I preferred to do it on the website.

That was Friday afternoon and I made the purchase. That Monday, I received a confirmation shipping e-mail saying that my order had been shipped. Yesterday (Wednesday), both items arrived at my house.

I am very pleased with this company. They have great selection, the lowest prices I could find on the net (or equal to the lowest prices), no sales tax to California, free shipping, and friendly, helpful customer service. What else could you want in an on-line company?

"Great prices - free shipping. Saved me over 33% from buying the same items from a major retailer. Had one piece that was shipped to me that was the wrong item (I ordered three pieces). I called that night and customer service was apologetic AND helpful - which is rare these days. The next day I got an email that the right item was reordered. "On 9/7, I placed an order for a BDI Deploy Max TV stand. I received it on 9/12. The price was among the lowest I could find using pretty much all price search sites available. "AVOID these LIARS and FRAUDS -- they told me a product was in stock and would ship immediately when it had been out of stock for a month. I got different excuses from each confused customer service rep, and they have no follow-through.
I told the sales rep when I ordered that I needed to confirm that the product was in stock and that it would ship by a certain date. He said there would be no problem. 2 weeks after the item should have shipped and with no answers from customer service, I finally received an email noting that the product had been out of stock for a long time, but that it would ship "soon."

I requested expedited shipping and an explanation as to why the sales rep told me the product was in stock when it was not. I did not even receive the courtesy of a reply to either of my requests.

There are better retailers out there. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE FRAUDS!

"I ordered a 5 rack audio stand and a TV stand which was supposed to be solid hardwood. This is Wood Technology's AR-53 audio stand, and Wood Technology's CM-V50CC TV stand. The order totaled near 900.00.

First, nothing about the ordering experience was bad. The service was fast and I had my furniture in a great amount of time. The problem came when I was assembling the audio rack and discovered that the side panels were fiberboard, not "solid hardwood" as described.

Racks and Stands solution to this problem was to place the phrase "Side panels are MDF" on the product description page and refund me $150 for my troubles. The title of the product still says "Solid Hardwood 5 Rack Audio Stand".

This is not to mention that the first person I talked to tried to convince me that I didn't know what I was talking about and that the side panels really were hardwood...then that fiberboard really was hardwood.


To be fair, Racks and Stands (RS) is only a storefront that resells furniture from other manufacturers. Wood Technology's site made the same blatant lie about the audio rack, that it was solid hardwood (sides, top, bottom and shelves!!!) However how R & S tried to sluff me off is not doing good business. Trying to convince me that the side panels really were hardwood, and only my negotiation skills giving me the $150 refund is not right. I also asked them to change the title of the item on the website which they have so far refused to do. It is not solid hardwood so it should not be advertised as such. The one line they stuck on the product page AFTER I complained (side panels are MDF) is the only change they made, and more a CYA response, to my mind, than a customer service.

This is not a customer oriented response to my problem so I thought I would let you all know about my experience of how Racks and Stands does business.
