"Every member of the staff I spoke with at ProActive was very friendly and extremely helpful. The price they had listed was terrific, even for Internet prices. Their sales and technical support staff were also greatly knowledgeable when it came to comparing the different technologies “behind the curtain” of what they sold. I got great impressions all around.

I had ordered a LCOS TV in October ’03, but it turned out that enough chips weren’t available to the manufacturer to meet all the world-wide orders. Therefore, independent retailers (not Best Buy, Fry’s, GG, etc.) got stiffed on the expected ship quantities, postponing units for their pre-order customers (like me). The only reason I give ProActive a 9, instead of a 10, is for their lack of knowledge concerning my order’s eventual shipping date (which still hasn’t come, Jan ‘04). Really, I would give them a 9.5, if I could, being that this really wasn't their fault--no one saw it coming until Philips _just_didn’t_ship_. I attempted to contact Philips, myself, and found it to be a very difficult road.

Because of the extreme backorder delay on the part of the manufacturer (Philips Electronics), I ended up having to cancel my order. Though that should indicate how impressed I was with ProActive’s 2 months of service to me--good enough to give a 9.5, even after canceling a frustrated order. I don’t blame ProActive at all for any frustrations with the order--in fact, any experience I had with ProActive was positive. Their willingness to please their customer even through all this speaks volumes to the character of this store’s service.
