Return was easy.

"Purchasing the OPPO BDP-93 Blu-ray Disc Player I figured it would be an easy plug and play and see a drastic change in picture quality. I paired it with my main TV, Panasonic WT50 and didn't see great results. I didn't have my tv professionally calibrated, I read online and took what was the best recommendation for beginners that are trying to get the best out of the TV. I returned it and the customer service and speed of communication was second to none. I will buy another player in the future because even though I had not so well experience, I know this is the player to have. I do use Oppo smartphones. Their quality is just like their home theater players. "

"I purchased an Oppo BDP-83 in November, 2009. WOW! This is the finest piece of audio/video equipment I have ever purchased. It easily outperforms other units costing 10 times as much.

Everything about the unit and the transaction was first class. I highly recommend both the player and the company. If I ever need to buy another player, it will most likely be from Oppo.

"I purchased the Oppo Digital BDP-83 player. This player is terrific. My regular DVD's upscaled look superb as does my Blu-Ray discs. The product is exactly as described and arrived promptly. The player was packaged with quality materials so much so I am mentioning it here. I emailed Oppo Digital a question and was emailed back an answer a few hours later. "

"Been reading about Oppo on AVS Forum, and since my piece of junk dvd player doesnt do anything for my 50" Plasma, I decided to call and see which model they would recommend for my tv. The person I spoke to was courteous and very helpful with his suggestions. I placed my order and within a few hours, had a tracking number and received the product today. This is one classy piece of equipment from a real class act of a company. When and if they produce a Hi Def unit, you can bet that I'll be standing in line."

"Ordered a refurbished OPPO 981HD. Supposedly it's the best dvd player under $250. Well, it wasn't so great. It exhibited green sparkles at 720p. I called customer service and they started to blame the TV because the plasma version of my TV has a problem with the OPPO. I told them that it's not the TV b/c other dvd players work fine and I have an LCD. I told them that I'd take their 970HD instead (didn't want to risk getting another 981HD that was supposedly "incompatible" with my LCD TV. They said, "Okay," and told me to ship it back, on their dime, but if I wanted the 970HD, I'd have to pay for shipping again. I told them that's outrageous. OPPO sold me a defective product that supposedly only works with certain TVs. Nowhere on their website does it say that it won't work properly with my TV. I happily declined for the new 970HD. Thank goodness I did. There are DVD players out there that does the same thing for half the price."

"Purchased the Oppo DV-981HD in Jan/07 and I can say I'm very very impressed, not only with the player but their stellar customer service. Never in any of my consumer electronics purchasing and user experience (I'm 45 had have been buying stereo stuff since I was 16) have I ever come across a more customer oriented company as Oppo.
I had a small issue with the unit and after making a call to them, I had a new unit on its way to me with all shipping costs (both ways) covered within 5 minutes or so!. And they allowed me to hold the unit I already had until the new one arrived! No arguments from them, no accusations of misuse, and no runaround by being transferring to different departments!

And the player is worth twice the price...albeit not a perfect, none are, it refreshing to know that they upgrade the firmware every 3 months or based on customer comments/suggestions and reviewer recommendations. Example, they upgraded the remote based on user and reviewer comments within 6-8 months..thats unheard of

The players performance is very good and it has plenty of customizable controls for perpetual tweakers like me...Thank you Oppo for making a player with audiophile features and performance at affordable prices.

"This is the first time I have ordered ordered directly from a company online.

I purchased an up-converting DVD player after reading all the outstanding recommendations for it. I searched a bit to get the best price on the player, and it turned out to be the company.

Placed my order, it was confirmed and shipped immediately.

An excellent transaction. (The product is great too!)

UPDATED: I was in need of repair for my player, and even though the player was no longer under warranty, Oppo took care of everything free of charge--from sending me prepared fedex shipping labels, to keeping me up to date on the whereabouts of my player, to repairing the player in LESS THAN A DAY, and to returning to me ASAP. In addition to the repair, OPPO also updated my firmware and sent me information on how to contact them directly with any questions or other problems.

I am completely satisfied with my service experience. Oppo is a great company.

"Placed my order on the 7th of January 07, got it three days after, on the 10th. Got my purchase that fast because off the kindness and dedication of Oppo Digital staffs, most notably Gagan, of customer support, who drove by my house on his way home to personally deliver my Oppo DV-981HD before going home around 8:30 PM. at no extra cost. I really appreciate Oppo Digitals well trained and honest employees. Got it hooked up that night through the HDMI interface connections and was truly amazed by what a 1080p output can do to a 1080p projector, its very 3D in clarity and picture resolution, my other DVD player could only output 1080i max and the difference is phenomenal. Its like the holy grail in up-converting DVD players, finally a 1080p output for less than $250, well entrenched brands like Toshiba,Sylvania,Sony, RCV, JVC, etch. up-converting DVD players can only do 1080i. Like to point out that your video display may it be plasma, LCD, DLP, LCOS, etch. must have as its native resolution 1080p to take full advantage of TRUE/FULL HD. If your video display can accept signals up to 1080p but is not its native resolution, then you won't see any difference in clarity of picture. I would definitely recommend Oppo Digital as the must have gadget for TRUE HD aficionados who wants to wait till the HD DVD/Blu-Ray wars are over and prices gets more competitive- still around $500 to $ 1,300 a pop.

"I'm very suprised at Oppo Digital - most new electronics companies which spring up overadvertise their products, and rely on the fact that customers are looking for the latest fad. Rest assured, however, that oppo is very very different.

Unlike other companies, they are honest and the comparisons are acutually realistic and describe the limitations of their product very well. Reviewers heap more phrase for their products then their own homepage does.

What prompted me to write this however, was reccent contant with their customer support. I have owned an Oppo for several months now, and I managed to break it due to my own carelessness(A large object perched precariously on the shelf fell, landing on the Oppo I was playing with and denting the cover), I contacted Oppo, and offered to pay for repairs, despite the fact that this was my own fault, they were able to repair the product for free and paid all costs including shipping.

I am very suprised at the level of honesty shown by this company and their willingness to go the extra mile, despite it being stated explicitely in the contract that units destroyed by user error will not be repaired. I commend them for looking out and taking care of customers - they truly are one of the best companies when it comes to taking care of the customer.

"Ordered OPPO OPDV971H DVD Player on Thursday, June 01, 2006, got it June 06 (from CA to WI).

Actually first I ordered their new model OPPO DV-970HD DVD Player, but after reading reviews decided to go with OPDV971H which has Farouja chipset. Called in and asked to cancel my first order, CSR was very helpful and nice. Everything went very nice and smooth. Also have to give Oppo credit for how often they release firmware updates for their products!

"Excellent shipping time. Ordered it Sunday night and part was fedex next day. Excellent packaging and the cool black dvd cover was very nice.

Getting the bonus dvi-hdmi cable was also very sweet. This was the highest rated player on the secrets of hometheater shootout.

Tech support is awsome! Sent in a question on sunday and that same day they replied!

But to get that same rating from secrets of home theater you have to be in "Video 2 mode".

"Video 1 and Video 2 determine which chipset will do the 2:2 Cadence support. In Video1 mode, 2:2 Cadence is handled by the MTK chipset, whereas Video2 has the Faroujda chipset doing all 2:2 Cadence support. 2:2 Cadence support is only necessary for PAL playback.

Press Eject.
Press Setup.
Change Video to Video 2.
Press Setup to exit."

So just in case you have a PAL movie, might as well have it on.

"What a pleasure to deal with. I admit I had reservations about buying a DVD player from a company I had never heard of but so far I could not be happier. Their DVD player is now the number one rated DVD player listed in the secrets of home theater review, listed ahead of some DVD players costing over $3000. The cutomer service is unmatched, they answer emails with actual usable information usually in less than 30 minutes. The item shipped in 4 days, and came double boxed and covered in a protective felt bag. I would not hesitate for one second before doing business with Oppo again."
