Later on it merged with Northgate.com, stuff was moved but you could still find what was on the old site.
On 7/23/04 I ordered an AMD64 barebones system, it came via DHL on 8/2/04.
The box was well packed, and the computer itself was packed within another box inside, with big styrofoam supports (keyboard, mouse, retail box for the motherboard, etc, were in a separate box above it with some foam).
The motherboard, processor, heatsink, fans, ram, power supply and hard drives (and neon light :], all that was ordered excluding the mouse/kb and headphones) were already assembled in the case, ready to go.
Got the system set up and running on 8/3/04 and it's been going great since then."

"I pre-ordered an Athlon 64 laptop system from them. Originally the ETA was early May - after many attempts calling tech support, I got through. The staff was consistently confused and not helpful. It took them forever to even find my order, even though I could plainly see it by logging into their website.

As status of the laptop changed, their website was not updated. A month later, I am told that the laptop was cancelled, and it would not be offered. The tech went on to say that they've known this for a week (and I was not told, nor was the website updated).

TERRIBLE experience, I am very unhappy. I must have called them 20 times, and only the last time got a straight answer and an associate who had a clue. Also, I was told on about 5 different occasions that I would be called back. Only once did they actually call me back - and the rep who called me back did not actually do what he said he was going to."

"The company is great in taking orders and processing them for shipment. They recently changed their default ship method on their website to DHL and their products are being delivered up to 3 days longer now. This makes me take another step in my ordering process to change their shipmethod by calling a salesrep. If they don't go back to the option of picking a different shipping company I will be looking into buying products elsewhere."

"Service was prompt. Price good. Acknowledged order quickly. They sent tracking number and order progress in good time. The item was as listed and worked out of the box. The only problem I had was a signature was required by the shipper for package to be released. We have a signature of file with FeDEx, but they wouldn't release package. We had to go to the FedEx office to retrieve the package as no one would be available for several days to sign for item. This was a little inconvenient. Even with this problem, I would continue to order from AccessMicro. "

Here is an update. I finally got my order on the May 12. I ordered and paid for 2 day shipping. I live in California, about 70 miles away from Access Micro. My order was shipped out on May 7 and it should have been here by May 11 and as I stated earlier, I received on May 12. It's not that one day is all that big a deal, but I did pay for 2 days and DHL did not know anything. I went on line to their web site and it had no useful information. I will say that the computer that I ordered was quite a bit better unit than I expected and with lots of features. It's a nice little portable unit."
