"I had a few questions about purchasing a domain through namecheap and there was an error in their system so I chatted with one of their reps and they said buy the domain and then she could fix it. Well I did and she could not fix it so I requested a refund. I received an email saying they typically do not give refunds but would this one time. I never saw the refund and the company has been terrible to deal with since then. Would NEVER use them again."

"Namecheap decided to publish my home address in the whois records for every domain I've bought without checking with me. They pulled the info directly from my billing information instead of using the information I gave them to use. The customer service response was they couldn't have done it. Yes the agent actually told me that right after I pointed it out to him.

"Namecheap is a domain name provider similar to GoDaddy. I used them for one of my domains because of GoDaddy's support for the SOPA and PIPA bills. Everything appeared to be going well until shortly after renewal I checked the whois info on my domain. I have been paying for whoisguard to keep it private, and to my surprise all of my personal contact info was published.
When I contacted customer support, I was told that even though I purchased the whoisguard subscription during domain renewal, I was supposed to somehow know that I needed to then go to "unused subscriptions" to apply it to my domain. Namecheap charged me for a service to keep my information private, then they published it without letting me know, and when I inquired about it, I was told that it's my fault.
I will be moving back to godaddy, they have since dropped their support for SOPA/PIPA legislation."
"Customer service is very nice, but they are made to follow terrible policies which is very frustrating. If you have a positive balance of funds in your namecheap account you can not get a refund of those funds without paying a fee... You can also not use those funds towards the purchase of another product. I have a feeling this policy is not even legal and will change soon, or namecheap will be paying for their mistake with customers leaving ..."
