Stay Away!!!

SCAM ARTIST!! Accidentally purchased a MacBook that we ended up not needing. Returned item to them immediately , per their return instructions, unopened. And still have not received a full refund. Email replies are automated and of no assistance. Also, this was via Amazon and they are of no help either.....STAY AWAY!!!

Poor service time

"I am so disappointed their mailing of my order. They advertised to have my package here within two days, and I even paid extra to make sure of this delivery. I received a confirmation that the package went out and it would arrive between dates later then when it was suppose to be here. This was a very special gift and if I thought there would be a problem with the delivery, I would never have ordered it. How upsetting. And no telephone number to even call to see if there was something they could do to help correct this problem."

"They did not deliver what was advertised, instead sending an insert saying that they would send the correct items after I gave them a 5-star review on Amazon. Their supplied contact information was incorrect, and I have been unable to contact them. Strongly advise NOT to use this company."

"I ordered a camera and they said I would get it in 8-10 business days and I still haven't gotten it. I called a bunch of times and when they answer I tell them about this I never got my package and when will I get it I'm out on hold immediately. They already took money out of my account. They took more than what I was suppose to pay. They said they would give me the 5 year warranty for the same price as the 1 year one and then that they would give me a tripod and other things for free. But I guess it was a lie. Then they also sent me a picture of my billing form.

I've been waiting for a long time for the camera. I guess it was all a scam

"horrible experience. Placed an order and was given the run around for 3 weeks. They also charged my card and never shipped out the product, I had to call and cancel the charge with my creditcard company. In one word LOUSY!"

"Deceiving shopping cart setup had me thinking I would be brought to a screen to review my items, taxes, etc, however it submitted the purchase for 2200. I called over and over, I figured out how their extension system worked and dialed as many of them as I could for over an hour so that I could cancel the order. No one ever answered. I left a voicemail, and sent an email, plus called my Credit Card company to alert them of the problem and to not accept the charges. Today I learn the CC company didnt deny the charge but did call me because of the unusual nature of my purchase. VERY frustrating, and seems VERY scammy. Id avoid them"

"Ordered a Marantz turntable on 3-17th. A week later, after no correspondance, I called for a shipment tracking number. They told me the item was on order. This was not conveyed to me when I purchased it. Another week goes by. I call again. It is still on order. I asked why they did not tell me this when I ordered it. They then told me several lies. One: it was a special order. Two: Marantz no longer makes this Three: They said they told me it was a back order. I then asked to cancel the order. They hung up on me. I called back. Told them I was hung up on and wanted to cancel the order. They told me there was a 20% restocking fee. I will be working through my credit card company to get my money back. Please beware of this company. They are too many good ones that operate with integrity to deal with them. I am willing to pay a few extra $$ to deal with honest people. "

"I've been a mail order/internet buyer for many years. My most recent purchase was a Sony BDPS5000ES blue ray player. I chose to try mydigitaluniverse.com for the first time. I placed my order by phone with a very personable salesperson named Michael. I requested a factory sealed box in good condition shipped inside an outer box(double boxed) for protection. Michael assured me these two requests would be honored and he would ship that day. Michael took care of everything as agreed plus shipped that day as he stated. I could not be more pleased with everything, I recommend you give mydigitaluniverse.com a try and be sure to ask for Michael, he is great! "

"This has been a pleasant surprise. I ordered a Denon 2807 receiver. I was very leary of this place, considering all of the negative reviews. But their low price, and the fact that they were not located in Brooklyn, convinced me to take a chance. Instead of ordering on line, I phoned them up, not only to double check availability, but also because I was sure I was going to get one of those dreaded scam calls to sell me over-priced accessories anyway. To my surprise, the guy not only informed me that the item was in stock at the listed price, but also made no effort to scam me with any high pressure sales talk. He said that the receiver would ship out that day, and sure enough, two days later, it appeared on my doorstep, perfect condition in a factory sealed box. I can't guarantee that others won't have any problems with these guys, but I can say that my own experience was excellent."

"Buyer Beware! I placed an order with this outfit yesterday. No indication of whether the item was truly in stock was given. No indication of when it would ship. From their website:

"All of our shipping is done via United Parcel Service (UPS)"

I called for my UPS tracking number first thing today. They indicated it would be arriving via a trucking company instead and that they would call me. Growing concerned, I did some more research on these guys. Looks as if the only true reviews out there are the bad ones. When I called back to cancel, they hung up on me. I dialed "sales" instead of "customer service" to inform them that I would be blocking any charges and refusing any shipments from them. They informed me that they could charge me from two to five percent of a "cancellation fee" and that it all depended on my attitude! I told them they could try to charge me any amount but it would be successfully disputed. They closed by informing me that since I was "nasty," they would be charging the five percent. Well, I'll update this review in another week to let you all know the outcome.

**Update: They really did try to charge a full 5% of the original total (about $150 out of $3k!) to my credit card. I have disputed it and the card rep all but assured me this charge will not stand and that this merchant will likely wind up on a watch list (if they aren't already). I can't stress enough that the only good reviews of this criminal enterprise come from their associates. The only true reviews, such as this, will reveal their true colors. Stay away!!

This is obviously a very, very shady outfit. No cost savings is worth this kind of experience. DO NOT BUY!!!

"I consider myself to be an experienced online consumer but was totally stunned at the excellent service MyDigitalUniverse.com provided. My salesman (Emish) was great. Unlike a lot of online merchants (especially the Brooklyn, NY gang), this company tells the truth (in stock or not) and does not high pressure other overpriced items. The XBR1 60in Sony was not scheduled to be delivered until next Friday (13th) but in fact arrived yesterday (10th) three full days early with regular shipping. The shipping company (EGL) allows tracking online and called before delivering. My complements and recommendation goes out to MyDigitalUniverse.com. JOB WELL DONE!! "

"My NEW??? Denon AVR Receiver blew out in less than 10 hours of play. Denon doesn't give warrenty to products purchased from My Digital Universe. MDU gives you 15 days to return which doesn't work if you are waiting for your Home Theater to be completed. I needed to replace two sensors, etc. Obviously a defective piece of equipment. My recommendation...DON"T!"
