"As with many of the other reviews, Memory To Go has horrible customer service. I ordered a 4GB DDR2/667/FB kit (2x 2GB DDR2/667/FB) in January of 2007, which was very expensive at that time. I only received one email from them; an order confirmation email. The memory did show up in a timely a manner, was the memory ordered, was labeled as Samsung memory and worked fine in my MAC Pro for years. Recently I noticed that one of the sticks has failed, which seems to be an issue with fully buffered memory. I tried to contact Memory To Go via their support email, only to have it returned as undeliverable because they have exceeded their mail quota. I called the local phone number listed on the web site but got a recording stating that number is no longer in service. I called their toll free number and got a "Hello". After leaving several messages and getting no return call, I was given isaac@componex as a contact email and was told I would get a quicker response this way. No such luck. Their web site states that all memory sold by this company carries a lifetime warranty, but this is no good if they do not honor the warranty. Although I had a good experience with this company initially, I will never buy from them again and I suggest you not buy from them at all. "

"9/11 update: As others have said, this company is a fraud. The do not ship promptly, they do not replace "lifetime warranty" memory, and they do not care about customers. I've been trying to replace memory with them for more than 3 months and they're totally unresponsive. Next step: legal action. Stay far, far away from this place.

More info (from spring 2011):
Bad vendor: won't ever do business with them again. I've been using Macintosh machines for 22+ years and have used memory from several vendors in that time. For the first time ever, I had not one but TWO DIMMs fail out of four DIMMs I purchased from MemoryToGo. This was my first experience with their product, and also the first time I've ever had memory fail.

To make a long story short: After the first DIMM failed, I was told to return it and then wait 30-45 days for the replacement. The second DIMM failed 2 weeks later and at this point I have called MemoryToGo THREE times over the course of 1 week, left TWO voicemails, and emailed to all of the addresses they provide. NO response to any of these queries. I am now forced to BUY replacement memory from another vendor.

MemoryToGo's prices are only a few dollars less than their competitors. I'll be sticking with those competitors from now on. From my experience, they provide poor quality, lousy service, and rotten warranty service. I strongly advise against buying memory from this company.

"I wish I found this site BEFORE I placed my order!! That was my mistake. I didn't look up a review of Memory To Go. Same problems as everyone else here. No return calls! etc. ** Finally, got a call back and store promises to refund my credit card. Will keep you posted...
**UPDATE** Guy told me he shipped the item the next day after I ordered. Have NOT received anything and don't expect to either. He absolutely LIED to me and I knew it as soon as he said it. However, I finally received a credit after I opened an investigation with my credit card company. Long story short... AVOID Memory To Go!!!!!!! Untrustworthy, liars, etc. There are plenty of reputable companies to purchase computer hardware from. Just because they have the lowest price, doesn't mean you'll receive the item!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

"Buyer Beware! Do NOT buy from this company!!! Worse Customer Service and
Order feedback encounter. After placing order they were quick to charge
my credit card. After a week, no email or update on order. After calling
numerous times and leaving voice mails/emails, NO response. I was able to
finally talk to somebody and decided to cancel order. After two months,
nothing had been received or credit posted back to credit card. Talked to
2 other people from "customer service" who are all liers about calling
back or resolving anything. I was able to open complaint through credit
card and 5 months later it's been resolved through the credit card. YOU
HAVE BEEN WARNED!

"I've had a nearly identical experience that everybody else has complained about. After a delayed shipping, I finally receive my order. As it turns out, the RAM ends up being defective, but unfortunately I didn't know this until well after the 30-day return deadline.

I ordered 4 GB of RAM for my MacBook Pro on Saturday, July 30th. I paid for Next Day Shipping, knowing that the memory would likely not ship until Monday, and that I should receive it Tuesday, February 2nd. I figured with the money I was saving by purchasing attractively priced RAM, I could splurge for faster shipping. Well, the weekend passes, and I never receive a tracking number. Tuesday, February 2nd comes and I still hadn't received a tracking number. So I send them an email inquiring about a tracking number for a package I was expecting that day. I never heard back from them, and the 3pm guaranteed delivery time passes with no sign of the RAM.

At this point, I decided to give them a call and ask in person. I call, the guy on the other end answers with a simple "Hello?". I ask the guy if this is Memory To Go, which he says it is, so I then ask about my order. He asks for the order number, which I give him, and then he promises to call me right back with information. Well, he never calls back. However, shortly after I do receive an email with a tracking number from FedEX. Like others, the status sits on "billing information received" for a few days, and then finally the RAM ships and I receive it.

After receiving the RAM, I pop it into my MacBook Pro, and everything seems to work fine. It continued to work fine for maybe a month or two, and then one day my computer experienced that cascading gray screen while in the middle of doing some work. I try to restart, but it will absolutely not boot up. I called an Apple Tech friend of mine, he gave me a few things to try, none of them work. As a last ditch effort, I switched out the RAM with the original RAM (which I'm glad I held on to), and the computer works fine.

Last week I had to take in my MBP for an unrelated repair, and while at the Apple Store, I mentioned the issue with my RAM. The guy told me to bring it in with me when I pickup my MBP, and they'll run a diagnostic test on it. So I bring it in, they run the test, and in short, the RAM was found to be completely defective. It failed just about every test, and there's no way it can be fixed or anything. Of course by this time, it's been 7 months since I've ordered the RAM, and a return is out of the question. I just looked at Memory To Go's warranty policy, and it looks like I should be entitled to a replacement, but it's not even worth the hassle. I'll just cut my losses and order from elsewhere, and NEVER will I order from this "business" ever again. And I pity anybody else who does.

"yup, I could cut and paste these others reviews. I was a return customer, got a bad module, returned it per instructions, have been stone walled and lied too, now I get no response at all. In the simplest terms they ripped me off."

"I could simply cut and paste the review from "Meghow" as I had nearly an identical experience. Defective product returned - no replacement received - no refund given - and no real answers from Memory To Go (or Componex, or Isaac Faliv, or whatever name they choose to operate under).

The big difference is that I'm a return customer! I purchased from them in the past and had no problem, but this time - "disappointed" isn't strong enough. Plainly put, I was ripped off!!

I purchased 2 RAM chips - one works fine, but the other was defective. I called, and was told to ship it back. No problem. Then I waited. After 3 weeks, I called, and they couldn't find the package. I was promised that they would look for it and call back. Two weeks later, I called again - same runaround. Two more weeks, and they finally found the package, and gave me a bogus excuse why they couldn't find it, but promised a replacement would go out that day. Two weeks later, I called to find out where it was, they had to look into it, and again I was promised a call back. That was 3 weeks ago, and was the last I've heard from them. They don't respond to emails, don't give you answers on the phone, and don't return calls as promised.

No product, no refund, no communication. Nice way to treat a return customer, eh?

I should have known it was a mistake to deal with them based on how they answer their phone! Call them to see - what a joke!

If you like your money, then stay away from Memory To Go!!

"I wish I had read these reviews before shopping at Memory To Go. They sent me memory that didn't work. When I reported the problem, they said to return the memory and they would send new. Although I have USPS confirmation that they received my return, they did not send replacement memory. After a few calls to follow up, they continued to claim they would send new memory but never did. I sent an email, asking them to credit my charge card. They never did that either."

"after they did'nt ship my order on the 6th day,

after they didn't ship my order on the 6th day, they wouldn't take my call. So I emailed them to cancel my order. So the guy calls me and said it shipped a week ago but he had also shipped a duplicate order to me while he had, had me on the phone checking the order. At this point I am stuck and am wondering what is gonna happen cause theese guys got my bank-card numbers. By the time I could get to the bank and try to stop anymore transactions they had taken the money for the order he put thru while I was on hold and he was supposed to be just finding out what happened to my original order. In the end, he must have lied about the first order and sent me the wrong memory and will not answer my email for return instructions. I had to go to best buy and pay more but at least I don't have to deal with this company that took me for $75.00

"I wanted to let you know that my experience was a bit unsettling with Memory to Go. When I first ordered, the person said they were sending authentic apple memory.
I had nothing but problems since it was installed. My computer would lock up and then when it was restarted, it would only ping in 3 time intervals. I gave it to Compu Pro Services to test the issue. The tech discovered it had failed the expanded memory test on both memory cards. He also said it was not good memory....not apple certified like I was first told.

I called Memory to Go to let them know I needed to return the memory. "Customer Service Rep" gave me grief saying I didn't know what I was talking about and I would have to pay a 25% restocking fee to return if I didn't just replace for different memory.

After ruining the logic board of the laptop, I didn't feel it was worth the risk of going with their memory again. I felt you should know about this. Also, another friend of mine said he purchased memory from them as well and found 2 desktop logic boards had to be replaced because of the memory.

The worker was no help and said the manager was not around to speak with when I requested the manager. I asked for an RMA to return the memory. He said it was my Purchase Order number. I don't believe he is right. This company seems very untrustworthy.

"Memory To Go, also dba Digiteam Inc., and Componex, is, as other reviewers have said, very weak on customer and after sale service.
After I received defective RAM from them (it WAS cheap), I got no response when requesting return authorization. I returned it anyway. They acknowledged receipt of the return by email, but that was the end of it - no replacement, no further communication. That is, until I had my credit card company reverse the charge. Then and only then did they send a replacement, again without any comment.
All and all, pretty flakey.

"Memory To Go is probably one of the cheapest places on the web to purchase memory for macs and pcs. However, the cheapness of the product is reflected in the customer service they offer. They are hard to contact after making a purchase and once contacting them you may find that both the customer service reps and the managers are adamantly unwilling to help correct problems. That is, any and all problems are solely the customers' problems...not memorytogo's problems!!! Good luck if you choose to purchase from this company."

"Very unprofessional and rude sales staff. Ordered on the 14th and received a tracking number on the 15th, however the tracking number only says "Billing Information Received" as of the 19th with no information on where my order is. Bad company, order somewhere else."

"Excellent service. I ordered two memory upgrades on the 10th, and I received them the 11th. They both popped right into place and are working fine. I am quite pleased and would highly recommend them. The prices were WONDERFUL!"
