"Just had Memory Express refuse to honour a price match, even though they sent me an e-mail confirming that the price match was honoured. Some flimsy excuse about the warranties not being the same, which turned out to be a flat out lie. Apparently the managers have been told to not honour price matches on hard drives above 500MB."

"I have never had a good service by those lazy people at memory express.
They are always in a bad mood and are never willing to do a price match without a fight, not sure why they even bother to have such policy when they really hate to go by their own policies, bunch of...

Also don't you ever try to return anything to those clowns claiming the item is defective as they will give you hell to return the item, even if you are week within the 7 days return window. They will lie saying their technical dumb dude say nothing was wrong and will make you take back a defective item.

Very bad place to deal with, just avoid it all together and get from Amazon instead.

"I have delt with ME in SE Calgary for the last few years. Generally the staff have been very good. However this is dependent upon the individual staff member. There is one person that I try to deal with at all times as he has a very good knowledge of PC's , has no problems doing a price match and never tries to sell me something I don't want. The same cannot be said for some of the other staff. Their IRP can not be beat. I had a very very expensive monitor go south on me. I took it in, they looked at it and about 15min later I had a new monitor. Same for a MB that screwed up my raid, long story no one is actually sure how the hell the MB did it, it was 35 days old and they bent over backwards to help.

The last time I was in I could not deal with my usual service rep and the person whom I ended up with kept trying to sell me a VGA I didn't want, I HATE nvidea junk and I did not want the IRP. After about his fifth attempt, he gave up and could not get rid of me fast enough.

I will still shop there but only if my guy is working. It's like any service industry/ franchise, hit and miss.

"Every single part I bought (2 entire computers piece by piece) had to be returned because it was faulty out of the box. I tried to get my faulty motherboard replaced on two different computers at different times and the moron in the tech department keeps throwing a CPU in and saying it works. I asked him how he tested the motherboard, if he used a voltmeter ect. and he replied with "bad CPU, i give you new one" i asked him how he knew and he replied with a "bad CPU, i give you new one. Im on the fourth cpu and they cant figure out to replace the motherboard. god forbid they listen to me, my customer service experience was exactly how another poster described as they just wanted to get rid of me or throw my problems on another person or even point fingers at me. Ill give em credit in the sense that they put about a grand into my pc and havent told me to screw off yet but they day i leave happy will be the day pigs fly i guess. Im going to cut my losses and buy a new mobo online somewhere that has good reviews i guess. But i will also continue to waste their money putting seemingly endless CPUs in a broken motherboard i will probably never see again heh."

"I submitted an order online on Boxing Day and today is the ninth day since that. Unfortunately and unbelievably, they still have not shipped the items I ordered. I shop online alot and have never experienced this type of extremely slow shipping before. I emailed their customer service people and told them that I have already received what I bought on their competitors' sites even though I also ordered them on Boxing Day, and they just said that they got a lot of orders to deal with these days. I emailed again and told them that I hope I can receive the products before the deadline for the mail in rebates. And they told me "Please use the e-invoice that was sent thru your email in claiming your mail in rebate". That's all they said. I lol'd. They don't even know their own business because apparently you need the original UPC barcode from the package in order to claim the rebate, which means that I cannot do that until I receive what I ordered. I told them that and haven't gotten a response since then.

Update: Today is Jan 9, TWO WEEKS after I submitted the order, the status has finally become "In process". Still not shipped yet. Seriously, this is ridiculous. Also, they are not responding to my emails any more.

Update: Jan 14, 20 DAYS after the order was placed. They sent me an email telling me one of the items I ordered is out of stock. WOW. WOW. WOW.

I had to replace it with something similar but cheaper, and yet pay the same amount of money for the replacement. I have to say, their customer service is BEYOND TERRIBLE, as it seems like they are never going to respond to my emails any more.

"I was a frequent customer with Memory Express for all my computer needs, and recently purchased quite a few items from the store in in Edmonton North - 13629 - St. Albert Trail, but had a very bad experience with the customer service there. The guys at the customer service here are not professional at all, and instead of trying to help you, will only try to get rid of you in any way they can. I had a small problem with my motherboard and was trying to get some advice in solving it, (HDMI wasn't working) instead of try to help, he just kept chasing me away, refusing to say anything unless I bring the computer in front of him to see it not working. I think the loser assumed I wanted my money back or something, while I just needed some help fixing it. It turned out to be a jumper setting which took me another few days to figure out. Unfortunately I had to go in a second time since my mail in rebate was rejected. Apparently the rebate that was posted in Memory ex. website was applicable to another store. So ME claims the manufacture made a mistake by giving them a wrong code and the manufacture claims that ME made a mistake by posting the wrong info. So I don't get any rebate back. And this time another really adamant guy in the same store customer service, when I tell him this, all he does is printout the rebate and tells me to don't depend on mail in rebate, that's it.
These guys don't give a damn about the customer at all, I think the management has to really give their staff some customer service training, and get rid of some of there stone faced losers.

First time to shop at ME, Really disappointed with the shipping speed, no comments so far on other services as I haven't received my order yet.I usually shop at newegg, and it's the same UPS, newegg can deliver the second day.

"Absolutely amazed. Fastest delivery at the cheapest price. They return stuff like no tomorrow as long as you bring everything back that came in the packaging. My only complaint would be the limited selection, hence the 4/5stars. Other than that, any product available at Memory Express is surely the place you should buy it!"

"I have been using Memory Express for parts and devices since they came to Edmonton. I usually go the the north end store on 137 Ave & Calgary Trail and have never had any problems with them. Staff at both Edmonton locations seem very knowledgable and will work hard to make sure you get the right items for your needs.

The rare times (maybe 3 or 4 times in the past 7 or 8 years) that I need to return or exchange an item, things have gone smoothly with no issues.

I have done their prices match a few times in person and have never had one turned down. All mail in rebates are completed without problems.

I have no problem recommending Memory Express to friends and colleagues and do so all the time.

"Bad customer service at Memory Express Edmonton North 13629 - St. Albert Trail Edmonton, AB

The customer service always been terrible at this location and keeps getting worse. The staff is arrogant. They have no value of the customer. They don't even return a good morning. I purchased $900 worth of equipment. A couple of days later I wanted to return one item because it did not fit my need. I walked in the door with the item in my hand and wanted to acknowledge somebody that this is a return, so there will be no complications afterwards. There was two employees behind the till chatting, one of them looked like the manager. I said "Good Morning". No body answered, not even any sense of acknowledgment. I was thinking about returning the item and buying more stuff but I returned it and walked right out. Rest assured Memory Express will never see another penny of mine, I don't care if they are giving it away. I am sorry I have spent the amount of money with them that I did over the years. B-COM is my computer source from now forward.

"Went into the Richmond store about 5 times in the last couple months. Their service has gone downhill since they opened. I went into the store determined to purchase a new gaming PC but was ignored all 5 times. The staff were just standing around chatting with each other. Also, tried doing some price match as per thair price match guarantee, they kept looking for reasons to deny my price match. They made excuses like, NCIX is sold out in their store, and they only have it in their warehouse, which I can get from them the next day becasue they had the product in their Vancouver warehouse. I used to love shopping at Memory Express because of their service and price guarantee, but seems like both are now gone and there is no reason for me to shop at their store anymore."

"bought 1500dollars worth of computer gear at mem express during the summer(was around 1700worth, pricematched and got it to 1500dollars) fairly fast and cheap shipping. I went ahead and bought a nexus 7 tablet from them in august, everything was great until the tablet started screen lifting after the 30day grace period was over, so i sent it back to asus 3 times for rma and ended up with a downgraded tablet, in this desperate situation i contacted memexpress, and within 5 minutes i got a call from minh(thats the owner of memexpress) who promised that he will help me resolve this issue, he has personally sent an email to asus hq for me and while the case hasnt been solved yet(since it was only last friday when he sent them the email) i do very much appreciate his help, since i am out of the 30day grace period already, the fact that he is personally handling my case tells me that he really cares about customer care, which is very rare for computer companies these days, i will most definitely buy from them again!"

"ME isn't the best but it surely isn't as bad as these reviewer claim it to be. Order many things in the past and often shipped the very next day. Nicely packed and called to update you on your order. There was an instance where the pm has expire but they look at it as a case by case basis and got it approve with some convincing. All my experience has been positive except that one instance due to bad CS but that is a given with any company. Overall, their policy can't be beat and they are only getting more tractions as times goes by because most of their sale are actually worth while. Do most of my shopping online so can't speak for in store but heard many great things over at RFD.

"Good instore experience bad exchange expierence. Noticed the 30 day exchange is ONLY on products they deam "defective" and test for a few days. A product that doesn't work for your situation is not considered defective. So if you purchase from them test drive quickly because you have only 7 days to see if you like your device and see if it works for you. So don't go out of town or buy at when things are busy or you don't have time to test."
