"I ordered an Aeron Chair and which was supposed to be new or new model "open box", what I received was a used chair with many problems. Broken and poorly repaired lumbar support, no 3" castors as on the invoice, and when I sent pictures to Herman Miller they told me the chair had been cobbled together witha "Hodgepodge" of parts, some of which were not even close to being original.

They first tried to switch me onto another chair, assuring me they would be happy to swap it out, free of charge if I wasnt happy. It took over 8 weeks to get that chair returned and to recive my "Aeron-like" chair. As soon as I unpacked it and sat in it, I noticed the problem with the lumbar support.

I took pictures of everything and emailed and called the company and each time they told me everyone was in a meeting and they would get back to me within7 - 10 business days?!?!?

The site uses the BBB logo but when you check with BBB, they have been kicked out for too many complaints! Yet they still use the logo.

Both Herman Miller and Steelcase(another chair mfg co) are both suing Luxury Chair to get them to stop using logo's. BEWARE!!!!

"A terrible, terrible company, undoubtedly the worst I have ever dealt with. They are lying, cheating and possibly even criminal scoundrels of the highest degree - stay away, no matter how good a deal you think you are getting.

My own saga began when I ordered an Aeron chair from LuxuryChair.com in October 05. It arrived in an unmarked and very battered box with no paperwork at all. First of all, I didn't realize I was buying a second-hand chair - this was not made clear to me during the sale. When I did find the fine print, it said that they sold chairs that had been returned but that they were in mint condition. Mine was not. One thing I noticed early on was that I had trouble rolling it - when I checked the wheels, I found a large amount of hair wrapped around them. That does not happen by itself - it takes extensive prior use. The bottom of the chair also scraped on the carpet protector on which it sat and the locking mechanisim for the seat would fail with a loud cracking noise at random intervals, tilting me back a few degrees each time without warning. Unfortunately for me, I went abroad for a month the day after the chair was delivered so I didn't discover these problems until after their so-called 30 day money-back guarantee had expired, a fact that the fine folks at LuxuryChair repeatedly pointed out to me, and not without a certain degree of smugness.

To cut a long story short, I spent the first 10 months of 2006 endlessly calling and emailing LuxuryChair to try to resolve the problems with my chair. First off, I just wanted them to complete my order - I ordered and paid for the Posture Fit lumbar support for an extra $75, but it wasn't included with my chair. I rang many, many times about this, and each time I was told it was being shipped the next day, or in a few days time. Funny how this line wears thin after you've heard it a dozen times over a period of several months, and what a remarkable coincidence that it was always about to ship just when I rang! Blatant lying seems to be the order of the day with this lot, but eventually it turned up. Then when I noticed that the locking mechanism failed randomly, I tried to get my money back. It was like pulling teeth. Shame on you Sara - a so-called customer service rep indeed - and Levi Cohen, the manager, for acting so reprehensibly.

In the end, I spent $100 to get the chair boxed properly for shipping back to the east coast, and they had the gall to charge me $75 for the shipping as well - this for a heavily-used second-hand chair that was defective from day one. Finally, after yet more calls and emails, I got my return, so I was down about
$175 and who-knows-what for all the time I wasted dealing with them. What a nightmare.

In short, if you're still reading and you're thinking of buying from these people (although I doubt you are any more), please don't! They may have a flashy site, they may have unbelievably cheap prices but don't be fooled. You will rue the day you ever came across LuxuryChair.com. Find an authorized reseller of Hermann Miller chairs, spend a bit extra and rest easy at night in the knowledge that you haven't done anything to support this company.

"I ordered an Aeron B from LuxuryChair.com. Wish that I had done research beforehand. Prices are obviously too good to be true. When I ordered, I got a message that the shipment would be delayed and that I would receive it in 2-3 weeks. I then received an email on 1/3/07 that the chair was shipping and my account had been charged. I figured that like many stores, they underpromise and overdeliver, and was excited to get the chair earlier than imagined. They instead sent me a Viper, a cheap mesh chair which I received on 1/5/07. There was no packing slip which was another indication of a shoody business practice. Since it was after EST hours, I had to wait until Monday to call and arrange to have the chair picked up and returned. I had to go out of town, so it was not until the following Thursday 1/11/07 that DHL was able to pick up the chair. At that point I had read reviews about them, and canceled my order immediately. and asked for a refund. The customer service rep told me that they couldn't issue a refund until the chair was returned, but assured me that his boss Sara would call em back. I tracked the shipment, and the day after it had been confirmed that it had arrived back at LuxuryChair, I called to request that the refund be issued immediately. There suddenly is a phone tree that will not take you to a live human being. I left a message, following up on the email that I sent on the 11th, and have mailed a certified letter to ensure that my request is documented. I have not recieved a single email in response to my request, and it ahs been over a week. It seems it will take some teethpulling to receive the "no questions asked" guarantee of the refund. I have been assured that I will receive the full amount back - both for the shipping and the chair -- since they sent out the wrong chair. We will see what excuse they come up with now. Sounds like they will be trying the "machine is broken". When I tried calling on the 11th, the phone rang repeatedly for over 12 times, and no one or nothing picked up. This is a shady business. Stay away. If the price sounds too good... even with a 30-day money back guarantee... it probably is. Problme is, you have to go through a lot of hoops and problems with these people. The 30 day guarantee is a smoke screen. Easy to say... harder to fulfill on."

"I ordered an aeron chair from them. Based on their website, it is shipped from 3-10 days of order. However, they emailed that they will ship between 3-6 weeks. I canceled my order because it will be late for the birthday gift which I bought the chair for. They granted the cancellation by email. However, they said that they will charge a cancellation fee. They also provided me a link that is supposed to point to the cancellation policy. When I click on it, it is a false link and I could not find any information on the cancellation policy. After three weeks, my credit card account still had not been credited for the refund. When I called them, they said they had problem with their charging terminal and promised too credit my account soon. (What a coincidence!). When I asked how much they will charge for the cancellation fee. They told me it is $16. I thought it is not a large amount and I do not want to deal with these guys and wanted to get over with it. I did not dispute on the cancellation fee. When I finally received the refund on my account, it turned out they charged more than $16 from my account.

Beware! Do not ever deal with these guys!

"Beware! They seem to stock no chairs featured on their site, and will charge your card upon ordering. I waited at least 3 weeks each time I ordered, and on two occaisions over 2 months.

The last chair I ordered arrived in the incorrect color despite documenting my e-mail correspondence with their sales rep on my order form. I returned it and to date never received a replacment. I issued a chargeback, at which time a rep called to apologize and promised to call me back with a "special deal" on a chair to make up for the hassles. I never heard from him again.

Would not recommend this store, despite the low, low prices.

"Have gotten nothing but excusses as to why I havent' received my order that was supposed to take 3 to 4 weeks. It's now May 15, 2006 and still no further along. I even contacted a rep at the actual chair manufacturer who offered to help expidite if I could give her an order number. Turns out luxurychair never placed my order in spite of telling me all this time there was a delay with parts at the manufacturer and that my order would ship soon. Fact, there was no order placed. I gave them a second chance redo order at the end of April. As of today, doesn't appear order has been placed and they never contacted manufacturer to help expidite order. Up to this point they have been horrible to deal with. To make matters worse, still don't have my chair and have doubts I ever will."
