"I purchased a pair of boots and after a year they began separating at a threaded seam. Lands End replaced them without question. When I receieved the new pair of boots, Lands End also included a check for $25 (not a coupon) because the latest pricing on the boots were $25 less than what I had paid a year earlier. What more could I ask for.

"I had an issue with slow processing and 2 day shipping on a gift purchase. The package ended up arriving a day later than it should have according to their processing / shipping web page. Lands end refunded the shipping and gift boxing cost to me. My wife is a big fan of their's due to their petite sizing and loved the dress, even if it was a day late."

"Just went shopping on the Land's End web site; spent 20 minutes selecting items and putting them in the cart. Went to check out and all but one of the items I put in the cart were listed as 'unavailable' (the one still available was the only non-sale item). Called customer service, they said that someone must have purchased the last of each of these different items while I was shopping. Went back to the web site, which still listed all of them as available. Re-put them in the cart, went to check out, again the cart said they were all unavailable. Customer service now said that their web site wasn't working right, but might be fixed in the future. Since these were all sale items, I presume that Land's End is now playing bait-and-switch, putting apparently good deals on their web site and then having them disappear at the last minute in an attempt to have people buy the non-sale items. What a waste of 30 minutes of my life. "

"Lands' End no longer sells quality. I used to order all of my pants from LE because of the high quality and because they did free hemming (cost of pants more expensive to cover hemming. Not really free). My last order arrived fast and with free shipping (the good). The bad is that their quality has changed so drastically that I found it almost unbelievable. The denim jeans are very cheaply made with very poor fit. Not quality and the heavier denim of previous orders. Even Wal-Mart now fares better in the quality department (if that is even possible). Lands' End, you will NEVER get another order from me again. "

"In a misguided effort to serve the bottomline, LE uses cheap fabric, and then has it sewn together haphazardly, with no standard of size between styles. No quality control, either. I regret the hundreds of dollars i have spent at LE in the last 3 years. The last year I have struggled to find one thing that I like. I'm done."

"Land's End is the worst spammer I am currently trying to deal with. It sends me up to four spams per day.

Beware. If they get your e-mail address you will be spammed profusely, so never give it to them.

All my efforts to get them to stop have been ignored, unless that is what increased the volume of their spam to my mailbox.

"Ordered a back pack with granddaughter's name on it. The gave no choice of colors for the thread. I received the backpack and thought they had forgot about the monogram until I looked close....they had did it in the same color thread and you couldn't see it. I contacted them and they didn't have anymore and said "sorry for the inconvience". I wrote them back and told them that was unacceptable. They finally agreed to refund the $6.00 monogram fee."

"I ordered some stuff on july 21st and Items were not even shipped till July 26th. When I call them every time was told that it was shipped today and gave me dummy ups ref number.
What a lousy company. This was my first time and definitely a last time ordering with LANDSEND.COM. I recommend others to stay away from this company and avoid their customer no service department.

"The Good:

Always a pleasure to shop at Lands End. You can usually find good deals if you wait for the sales and you can always find a free shipping coupon somewhere. Returns are as easy as going to Sears. Customer service is usually pretty helpful and the chat feature is a nice convenience. Clothes are generally good quality.

The bad:

Most of the clothes I end up returning are due to poor fit. The fit is generally not designed for anyone with an athletic build except for maybe their tailored fit dress shirts and pants. They should offer the tailored fit in more styles as it is currently limited to only a fraction of the traditional offerings. The tailored suits should be redesigned with at least a 3" lapel and at least super 100's fabric. The 2.75" lapel simply looks too childish. Super 90's fabric doesn't cut if for most people needing to wear a suit. Sleeves are still too long on the tailored polo. GAP had it right with 8" sleeves on the medium. Certain stylistic choices such as spread collars on dress shirts are not available unless ordered on custom.

"I have always had great had great success with Land's End, but I just want to point out a flaw in their price policies. I received an email with a sale on jackets. I needed on so I order a jacket that was on sale from the email. The very next day after I ordered the jacket, I get an email saying now outerwear is now 50% off. I checked and sure enough, the jacket I had just ordered the day before is now $20 cheaper!! I called the customer service and told them about my order and the new email with the cheaper price and they refused to give me credit for the price difference. I explained to the sales rep that I could just return the jacket (at their expense) and just re-order the same jacket at the new sales price and this would cost them more than just giving me a refund. They finally conceded and said for a "one time only" customer satifaction, they would give me a refund. I am very dissapointed in Land's End. Most businesses will price match their own products if they go on sale. I am now less likely to order from them again. Eddie Bauer, LL Bean and REI are going to be getting more of my business."

"Sears/Kmart has finally assimilated Lands End keeping the name of the brand but cheapening it. I have been buying the iconic Lands End Super-T for well over ten years. When I got my latest shipment (somewhat later than the above order) it was immediately obvious that the cloth used was much lighter than previous versions. I compared the weights of the new shirt with an older LE shirt and the new one was at least 1/3 lighter. The weight of the not-so-super-t felt like something you would get at Walmart or K-mart. My wife's experiences of late have been quite bad. She basically says her last order of clothes were very low quality and she has stopped ordering anything from LE. This is too bad since we've been shopping at LE for 20 years and will miss it. The imbecile MBA-types who take over companies and think their clientele are so stupid as to not notice when they drastically reduce the quality of their products have the anti-midas touch: everything they touch turns to dung!"

"I've ordered dress shirts, dress pants, sweaters, under garments, socks, and a jacket from Lands' End and so far I am completely satisfied. I'm always weary about clothing that are priced very competitively because the quality of the clothes could be cheap, but not the case with Lands' End. They have an extensive selection of clothes and I love the interface and layout of the website."
