"I can't quite wrap my mind about that company. I don't think they are outright fraudulent, but their customer support leaves much to be desired, too much in fact.

I did 2 purchases from them. The first one went without a glitch - ordered, charged, received. No problems whatsoever.

Then I ordered a $400 item. The credit card got charged right away, 2 weeks passed by without any order updates. I started calling, several time was able to speak to somebody, once even got a callback from them (to their credit). Several times got promises that the item is due to be shipped next day.
Finally (after a month from the initial order) got tired of waiting, tried to cancel the order. For 2 weeks was trying to reach them - nobody answers phones, no reply to my e-mails.
Called my bank, they opened a Charge Dispute case, also the bank asked me to inform the merchant about the fact that I have opened the case. I did send LaRuso a e-mail about the Charge Dispute case and received reply in 22 minutes. LaRuso told me that they will immediately refund the money. I called my bank, put the case on hold and waited for another week. The money didn't come.
Finally I really got tired of all of that stuff and told the bank to go ahead with the case. Received my money back after a week.

I can understand inability to ship an item when it is out of stock or whatever. I can understand lack of communication - things happen. What I can't quite understand - why not to refund my money immediately knowing that a credit card company is getting involved in a dispute.

BTW, when talking to them on a phone I was never angry or arguing, I was just trying to get a reliable information, I actually was willing to wait longer for the order given that I provided with a reliable timeline.
Just a sad experience.

"The worst online company I've ever dealt with. Placed an order for close to $2000 and it never arrived, more than 2 months later. Sent dozens of emails and voicemails and none were ever returned. I sent emails through their linked in page and through paypal as well. No response! I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint as well.

I finally was able to get my money back via a Paypal complaint. Make sure you file the compliant before 45 days pass. NEVER trust this company. At the same time they were ignoring me, they launched a new website CarusoCaffe.com and were sending out newsletters and advertisements.

"I purchased a Jura espresso maker from the company. I was reluctant to purchase online. I called them and they answered all of my questions. LaRuso.ca was very helpful in helping me decide which machine to buy. I am loving my espresso machine and will be back to buy coffee beans."

"Wish I had checked this website first.

Similar story, I place an order, they charge me right away, and they don't ship for 2 weeks. First week, sent an e-mail requesting when I can expect the order to be shipped.... no reply.
So weekend follows and I call on Monday evening. I am told they will receive it this week and to expect an e-mail with the tracking code by Wednesday. Well it's Thursday to day.

So I call.... and leave a message since no one answers. I call again, and again, and again, and again..... still no one answers. Weird... they say they close at 8pm and I am calling between 4:45pm and 6:45pm. Still no reply.

So I make a complaint with Paypal. Will wait 24h before escalation based on the response on this website. Not worth giving them more time if they cannot be bothered to call back or response to my e-mail.

So it the store a scam or not, I don't know. What I do know is that they throw all the red flags for scams and I have lost all confidence that they will ship my goods in a timely manner if at all.

"LaRuso.ca charged my credit card immediately for an item they did not have in stock. Two weeks later they claimed they were about to ship it. When I contacted them about not shipping the order, they did not reply. Only escalating a fraud claim with PayPal caused them to refund my money. Strangely enough, even though they were unable to reply to any of my messages, they were able to post tweets every hour or so. This is a bogus company that is continuing its previous practices of trying to defraud consumers by charging them for products that will never be in stock."

"I am extremely happy with the way LaRuso has handled my order and inquiries.

I have indicated that fulfillment of my order is time sensitive, as it is for a wedding event. All of my inquires were addressed very promptly. More importantly, status update with regards to my order were provided on demand. I am very happy with the effort that LaRuso has committed to ensure that I would get my order on time.

"Becareful before ordering there, if your item is in stock you probably won't have any problem, if not you'll never get any update, customer service never answers and it takes months before resolving your case.

A really bad experience.

"VERY Disappointing.

Ordered a coffee machine which I was told was in stock, one month later still nothing. They provided 3 seperate excuses as to why it had not shipped. When I asked for a refund they stopped responding to email.

The sales representative is very slow to respond to emails, I have written 7 times now and have still not recieved a refund after 2 months.

Uncontactable by phone - just an answering machine.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
