"Do Not order from this store! When I placed my order shipping charges were never shown until after paypal was billed. I was charged more for shipping than the item. I immediately canceled the order through e-mail since their phone has been disconnected. They do not respond to emails and have terrible customer service. Save yourself the trouble, order elsewhere. I have had to take action through paypal to try and recover my money. "

"I am extreamly displeased with ikitchen. After waiting in excess of the 15 business days for my order to ship, I cancelled and disputed the charges to my credit card. Shortly after disputing, I noticed a $1,800 fraudulent charge to the card. This company is bad news. Avoid them like the plague!"

"I ordered this item on 12/11. It was shipped out that afternoon according to their website. It is now 1/4/08 and I still have not received the item ordered. I have written to them with no reply. Fortunately, I used PayPal and have esculated a claim through them. I did try to contact ikitchen through PayPal and they did not respond, hence I esculated it to a claim. I would never order from them again. I don't care what their prices are, I'd be willing to pay more for SERVICE. Something lacking at ikitchen."

"The reviews on this site are no joke. This could be the worst company on the internet. I ordered an item and after 1 month of absolutely no contact, they finally emailed me back and said they didnt have the item. Stay away from this company, it may be a scam."

"It has been two months since I returned incorrect items and never received the correct merchandise. After disputing the charges with my credit card company and receiving credit, Kitchen and Home Gadgets recharged my credit card account for the disputed amount - knowing they never sent the correct merchandise! Once you place an order and this company has your credit card information, they will not hesitate to process unauthorized charges for merchandise never received. If ethics and integrity matter to you, do not shop at Kitchen and Home Gadgets; they knowingly engage in billing fraud.

"Never received the item. Despite their claim that most items take between 5-10 days to arrive, the item I ordered 16 days before xmas did not arrive on time or AT ALL. I never received email or other contact from the company that this xmas present would not ship on time. Only after I contacted them did they tell me that their boilerplate email says that sometimes things are backordered.

Don't be fooled by the claims of excellent customer service. The customer "service" stinks -- they say that most customer service queries are answered in 72 business hours (which is 9 business days!). At least read the customer service section of their website.

The item had not arrived by today (1/14/2006) and I am canceling my order. I would NEVER shop here and I warn any reader to avoid this "store".

"My most recent experience with this vendor, though requiring more patience than most, has been OK. This vendor does not closely manage inventory, so do not be surprised if the item you ordered is out of stock and you don't hear anything about it in an email from the vendor. If only the vendor had sent me an email message explaining the back-order status and expected ship date, I would have been fully satisfied.

I ordered a telephone and two pillows late on Friday 11/18/05. I received an immediate automated email confirmation message. The next communication from the seller was on Monday 11/21/05 and was an automated shipping notification of UPS tracking number for a 6-pound delivery. So far, so good. But by checking the number at the UPS web site, I found that this tracking number was cancelled on 11/23/05. Also on 11/23/05 I received another automated UPS ship notification, this time for a 2-pound package that actually shipped. I received the telephone on 11/28/05. (UPS had a 4-day holiday weekend. Without the holiday, this would have been a next-day delivery, typical of my NY-Boston UPS ground experiences.) Apparently the first tracking number was obtained before the vendor realized that the pillows were out of stock. The packing slip enclosed with the telephone indicated "Balance Back Ordered, Will Ship Shortly!" I received another automated email on 11/30/05 with the tracking number for the pillows. The pillows arrived on 12/02/05. My credit card was billed on 11/22/05 for an amount that was greater than the cost of the telephone plus shipping, but less than the total order amount. The card was credited with a small refund on 11/25/05, then billed for the balance of the total on 12/01/05. Overall, this was a good purchase experience, except for the suspense about the back-ordered portion.

"Apparently this merchant is a well-known quantity, but I found that out only after having placed an order on the Web. The merchant sent an acknowledgement of my order, and billed my VISA card, but never shipped the merchandise or sent me a UPS tracking number. One cannot call them because one gets only a very long recording with no information or personal contact. I haved submitted a summary of my situation to them online twice, and had no reply. I am in the process of having this charge invalidated, but that is, of course, a pain. My advice is the same as that given by others: Do not, under any circumstances, order from these people unless you consider them a charity. It is very likely they will take your money, and you will receive nothing in return. "

"THESE PEOPLE ARE CARNIVORES!

You might find this or or that item for slightly cheaper from them than from other merchants. IGNORE THE TINY BIT OF SAVINGS AND SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE! I ordered a tea press for $50.00 plus shipping from them, as inexplicably their Yahoo! Stores rating is high (unlike here!). So I bought with confidence.

The item was listed as "Ships in 2-3 days". Right. So I got a message saying it was out of stock, and would ship in 1-2 weeks. Now I know this is an unavoidable issue in online retail, so I wasn't angry yet. I decided to wait it out -- I didn't need the item for a birthday or anything. THREE weeks later I finally email THEM, and am told in response that it won't ship "until approximately late July or early August".

Now I want to point something out here. The ENTIRE TIME this was going on (20 days at this point), the item was STILL LISTED as "Usually ships in 2-3 business days"!

They knowlingly maintain an "IN STOCK" status on items LONG since backordered. Why? To "Get the order", of course. When they warn you in the initial confirmation email that "there is a small chance that the item(s) you ordered will be out of stock or discontinued when your order is processed"... TAKE THAT WARNING SERIOUSLY! They are trying half-heartedly to cover their behinds in advance, knowing full well that you may have just ordered an item falsely represented as being available.

Then it got worse.

I emailed them to cancel this order, and got a message back (paraphrasing) "Sorry for the trouble..." etc. and offering me a 10% discount on my next order. Finally, on the 29th I received an email stating the item was in stock, and offering me an "additional 5% discount as our apology".

Now, I'd already gotten 5% off as a July promotion, and was already offered 10% off my order, right? So however you figure it, that's approximately $10 off by then. I knew I wasn't likely to get this much off, so I emailed them asking "Is the 5% in addition to the existing 'JULY' 5% coupon code promotion? And can I apply the previously offered 10% off code that ____ sent me as well?"

Their response was "Only 1 coupon can be used. Additional 5% discount gives you total 10% discount from original order"

Which is fine. EXCEPT for the fun part: "Order will be processed and shipped today."

THEY PLACED THE ORDER AGAIN! Without my authorization! All I did was ask what discounts would be applied!

And here's the real punchline: THERE WAS ONLY A 5% DISCOUNT APPLIED TO THE ORDER! Yep. $2.50 off, after all the trouble. Not only does this not even come close to making up for the trouble, but it's not even what they had JUST offered me. This time I had to cancel an order I NEVER EVEN PLACED.

So yeah. "Buyer beware".

"I ordered a vacuum from this site in the middle of March. I was charged on my credit card but never received anything. I was never told it was backordered. After numerous calls I finally received a refurbished vacuum cleaner that I did not want. I was charged for a new one and that's what I had originally ordered, I never wanted a refurbished one. After numerous calls again to receive a shipping label to mail it back I then had to make more calls to credit my account. By this time I had really had it with the store since it is now the first week of June. They reassure me the vacuum is on it's way to me. I receive it again and it's another refurbished vacuum. Of course my account had been charged the full price for the new one again. I was so angry with these people. I just could not believe how incompetent they were. The customer service is terrible, they have no idea what's going on or do they care. My last call to them the girl told me that I had ordered the refurbished one. I told her to check the charge as it was for the new model and then she said I was right, there must be a mistake again. How many mistakes can they make? I have now received the mailing label to send back yet another wrong item and am still waiting to be credited to my account. God only knows how many more calls I will need to make for that. I will never buy anything from these people ever again. Nothing is worth all the aggravation I had to deal with. I don't care how much more I have to spend for the vacuum, it just isn't worth it. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this store."
