"Their wine auction site is of questionable value. Listing wines takes a very long time after receipt with 30+ days expected. Their auction service is definitely not for use by anyone desiring a prompt listing. Promotion is at best in line with the retail listings, and at worst shown lower than retail listings. Location and differentiation of your listing is described as subtle. The listing itself does not declare the image of the listed wine to be the actual product on auction, or a stock photo. Payouts of sales take a week or more. The entire process does not have a good notification system other than manual emails. Seller Commission is 0.148936170212766% (15%) plus an additional $5 at the beginning to the list the wine.
Overall I would not recommend K&L Wine Merchants for listing and sales of private wines unless your wine is very rare . If it is that rare you might be better off selling direct or though an auction house that does not have a retail component."
"Wonderful service, fast and packaged well. I've spent well over $800.00 with them in the past month alone, primarily on single malt whiskys with some red wine thrown in, and every time my package is delivered on time and in perfect condition.
Do keep in mind that all items ship from their Northern California location, and it does take time to transfer stock from their stores to their warehouse for shipping. Also, they ship at the beginning of every week so your items don't sit in a delivery truck over the weekend - if you order on a Thursday, expect it to go out the following Monday.
For single-malt whiskys, they have an excellent selection for being located in the United States. Great prices, too. And I can shop online or in their stores - I always have the option of purchasing and picking up my shipment from their Hollywood store on my way home from work."
