Phony commitment to customer service

"I used K&J Magnetics for years until I had a problem with an order. Two magnets I had ordered appeared to be missing. I asked for a refund ($3.99) which they very reluctantly supplied. I subsequently found the missing magnets in an unexpected location, much to my embarrassment. I wrote to them to admit the mistake and offer to repay. They never responded despite their supposed commitment to "customer service" and I forgot about it. I tried to order again from them recently, but they blocked my order. When I enquired as to why, the president told me they would not accept orders from me without further explanation despite my diligent and sincere effort to rectify the error. At this point, they really are just being petty and vindictive and also self-harming as they lost business for no good reason other than the owner's misplaced pique. Naturally I'm sharing this story with everyone in the hobby community of which I am very active. Fortunately, I was able to find everything I needed without fuss with Applied Magnets whom I recommend without reservation."

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

"The company I work for purchases from this vendor all the time. Their customer service is BEYOND unsatisfactory. The amount of hoops they make their customers go through before processing an order is uncalled for and ridiculous. The products we make that use the magnets are used in saving lives and they have no idea how they affect business. I don't enjoy ordering from them and if I could give zero stars I would. "

PRODUCT ARRIVED DAMAGED AND THEY WON'T REPLACE IT!!!

"Their product arrived damaged and so I emailed them and they are saying it's not their responsibility. I have asked for a return label and I still haven't gotten one. Won't be buying from them again. You would think at their higher prices they'd at least be good about customer service.

WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THEM AGAIN!!!

Killed with import TAX

"If you do not live in the USA then don't even think about ordering from them. As they use DHL and between the two of them you will end up getting a surprise import tax of at least 50% of your order. If I knew this beforehand I would never of order this, but my parcel was being held hostage at customs by DHL, until I paid the exorbitant FEE. You are way better off going the amazon route way cheaper and from the other reviews, their magnets do not sound all that much better."

Damaged Magnets

"I recently bought magnets from K&J and received two damaged magnets.
Sent an email with a picture of damaged magnets and was denied replacements.
DO NOT BUY MAGNETS FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Cabinets magnets don't work, magnets stronger than adhesive side and they don't stand behind their product, won't refund.

"I ordered cabinet magnets. The magnets are very strong. The 3M Adhesive side is not. The magnet is stronger than the adhesive, the adhesive side pulls off my cabinets, they do not work for my purpose, to use on my cabinets, which is what they are sold for. First I was told the maybe my cabinets were greasy. NOT! Then I was told "I am sorry, but we do not guarantee that the adhesive will stick perfectly to every surface. While I understand your frustration with it not working, it doesn't mean the adhesive backing is defective. I am not able to offer a refund." They stick until the magnets go together, then when you open the door, one side pops off. I have never written a bad review before, but this customer service, or should I say "lack of", really ticks me and I would like other people to know of the problem with these magnets. Read their other reviews before buying, I wish I would have. I would have never bought from this company!

Was worried about all the bad reviews, but I had a good experience with K&J

"I ordered 20 small magnet to fix my fishing reel and have some spares too, I didnt see all the bad reviews until after I placed my order and figured Id never get them... But I ordered on 8-1-19, paid 7.95 for priority shipping and had them on 8-3-19 !!

Packaged well, and fit perfect, no problems at all ! Im a happy camper.

Waste of money.

"I ordered magnets based on their recommendation for keeping my cabinet doors closed. I was told the ones I was going to order were too strong so I ordered what they suggested and they do not work. Got tired of getting the run around and decided to give up. Never again."

Ripoff

"Placed an order that was never delivered. When I wrote them they said "receipt of package was acknowledged by ". I was at work that day and provided proof of that. Then I asked them to show me a signature proof of delivery and they could not.

Great Magnet Vendor

"Been using these guys for years, great seeing their selection grow over time. Very good prices, great selection, lots of good info for the magnets. Shipping is very reasonable. Magnets have always been packed with care, never had one arrive broken (They package each set of magnets you buy in individual baggies and put plastic washers between more powerful magnets for ease of separation, then each magnet bag is wrapped in foam, then in a small cardboard box).

While I cannot speak to the customer service, I've also never had to use them in all this time, either, which is a plus!

Go to the next magnet company in your search....The one after K & J

"I called K&J Magnetics to make sure our account was still active, verified it was. I was then told I had to email my order. When I emailed the order I was told our account was not active, and I would need to call to set it back up. I called their office again, and was told I needed to email to get the account set back up. I emailed again and was told they could not setup the account online. When I called their office again I asked the gentlemen on the phone if he could help me with the issue, he informed me he could not, but I could email them.

I asked him frankly if he would recommend I use one of their competitors. His response was priceless, "Yeah, you might want to just do that." Just a side note I would be fired if I talked to/treated a customer this way. It costs 10x as much to create a new customer than to keep an existing. Good luck K&J.

high quality magnets, excellent packaging & shipping turnaround

"they seem a bit pricey, but when you consider the quality of their magnets vs. other online retailers...well let's just say the difference is noticeable. sure, they break if you let the bigger stronger ones slam together, but they paste a warning about that ALL OVER their website and nearly every product description.

they don't allow you to use a shipping address different from the billing address on your credit card. minor inconvenience but this is a security measure. like for your own protection?

packages arrived in a timely fashion and were carefully packed with bubble wrap, styrofoam paper and plastic magnet separators for the larger/more fragile magnets.

They are nice but take zero responcibility. Their email responce included below.

"I ordered 12 magnets from this company and 1 single magnet arrived chipped. I emailed them the day it arrived asking for an exchange. Their response email is included below. Needless to say I will not be ordering from them ever again.

Thank you for your recent order. Neodymium magnets are brittle by nature and can easily be chipped and broken. All orders are manually picked, inspected, and packed prior to shipping. Because the magnets are easily damaged, we cannot be responsible for damage that occurs after they leave our facilities.

Like everyone else is saying, terrible customer service

"I can't even get magnets sent to me as my card got flagged since the billing and shipping are both different. Fine. So I sent an email with half the info they requested, but told them I would not give them the rest (CC number) over email. So I called as soon as I sent the email. They got my info and told me they would verify, but Paul already decided to cancel the order because I didn't give him the info over the phone, they tells me it's my problem. If you are a business, go elsewhere. These guys are only going to cause you grief at any given step. Also, they already charged my CC, so for them to wonder if it's fraudulent without even sending the product but still charging is hardly up to them, but my bank. "
