Horrible experience.

"Not a good experience. First and foremost I drove from 2 states away almost a 14 hour round trip drive. I came to pick up 2 Yellow Terribilis. One was severely defected, of course they packaged the frogs in shipping packaging so I couldn't see and recommended not opening until I got home. Here I am 6 months later and I'm wondering what is wrong with this little frog that just won't grow and looks much different from his "bigger brother" at this point. I ended up getting the advice of Alex Menke a very experienced breeder and keeper of darts and he said that the frog is in fact severely defected, and probably needs euthanasia. So I contacted Josh's frogs and let them know, I had to call customer service 4 times and send a text to get an answer. I was told to send pics of both frogs and the current setup. My setup was fine and I received a response back that said the frog was definitely "severely defected" and they also immediately tried to divert blame to the "shipping company" mishandling them saying they wouldn't let something like that slip by.. obviously not remembering that I drove 14 hours from two states away to avoid any and all shipping lol. I then showed them pics of the frog literally moments after coming out the box already with the same severe defects and let them know I drove to avoid any mishandling. Brandon the rep then took accountability saying that they must've let it slip by somehow, which really I just took as him getting caught in a lie and trying to cover. I was also told that I could not have a replacement because they have none to offer at the moment and none in the future because they have "no breeders" currently. I find it interesting they would sell their only yellow terrib breeders... unless they knew there was something wrong with them or they were producing bad babies in the first place. They then offered a refund and claimed to send it back to a card that I do not even have anymore (without authorizing it with me) and the account has been closed out well over 8 months so I'm confused as to how they are even claiming I paid with that card, I paid out of an account ending in 3027 and they are showing they sent a refund to a account ending in 6977 which like I said is a card I used with them previously but was closed out over 8 months ago now. they are now basically telling me that I am out of luck, and to call my credit company, who is telling me if they sent it to a closed account it will either go back to them or it's gone. I have one good frog, one gimpy defected frog, no in store credit or replacement and apparently will not be receiving a refund. Horrible experience all around, all I asked for was a replacement or in store credit."

Bad frogs !!

"If I wanted a frog that would die I would've gone to a pet store. This breeder is a sham. Totally unwilling to help me when I answered their questions about it dying. Basically brushed it off as if they didn't sell me a bad frog. Stole my money basically. And did not even care that this was a kid's pet. Way to damage a kid's childhood!"

Dead Flies.

"Horrible order! I ordered 1000 housefly larvae and they arrived yesterday in such a small container that a lot of them were hatched out and dead inside the container. I expected some to be hatched out, but if they had been sent in a larger container they would have survived. The order was moist, stunk and unusable from all the dead smashed flies"

Sent me the wrong frogs

"I received the wrong variation of frogs, and when I emailed regarding this issue, I was told to try and use brighter lights, because then maybe I would be able to see the true color of my frogs. The manager did not help. The supervisor did not help. I spent 2 weeks back and forth talking with the team and no one wanted to admit fault or take responsibility."

Takes your money but doesn't deliver live bugs. Blames customer.

"Takes your money but not competent enough NOT TO SEND LIVE BUGS DURING A HEAT WAVE that's across the nation. Blames the customer for the timing of the order.
Which was not during the heat wave. They chose when to ship!!! Doesn't offer refund or replacement. Will not work with customer in any way shape or form. Should not be an Amazon Seller in my opinion.

Thrives and Liars

"Josh's Frogs is the first name you hear when you are looking into the live insect/feeder trade. I have an array of amphibians that are constantly in need of crickets/mealworms/fruit flies/etc. I go through about 1000 crickets a week at this point. For the first order I placed with Josh's Frogs, I got exactly what I was looking for. The insects arrived on time, alive, and all seemed well. So, I placed a larger second order that included food, water gel, and more crickets. Well, since there is no sticker/indicator on the box that it contains live insects, my package sat in a FedEx holding facility for 3 days before arriving to me. I got a box of mostly dead crickets. In addition, the water gel had leaked all over due to a flaw in the packaging. It was a mess. Josh's Frogs refunded me for the crickets (nothing over cost, I still was responsible for the shipping charges). I decided to give them one last try the other day. Ordered on a Wednesday, usually 1-2 day turnover until it is shipped per others comments and my own experience. I expected I would have crickets by Saturday/Sunday as only Monday was a holiday. Instead, Friday rolls around and I see my order still isn't being packaged according to their records. I email them and get a response saying my order will be ready to ship by Tuesday. Almost a full week after I ordered! I request to cancel the order because I'm going to need crickets before then and I know a local shop by me sells boxes of 1000, just for a higher price. I am told that they will cancel the order on Saturday. Instead of canceling my order, knowing that I didn't need the product anymore, they shipped it anyway and did not refund me/cancel the order as they said they would. They have a disclaimer that says something to the effect of they may not be able to cancel orders if they have already been packaged/shipped, but apparently that gives them license to just not cancel orders at all. This place has horrible customer service, they are a scam. Do not buy from them. There are other, better, and cheaper alternatives out there. Do not waste your money or time with Josh's Frogs!"

Wish I could give zero

"I ordered a very large bug order for my chameleons as I was going on a vacation. I ordered on a Friday and spent $55 on 2 day shipping so I would have them in time for my trip the following Thursday. they were not mailed out for 5 days. they are late for my trip. I live in rural Wyoming. I have no clue now how I'm going be able to take care of my pets. they wouldn't give me a refund they wouldn't overnight any bugs to me to make up for their error. their customer service was absolutely horrible. I have dealt with them in the past and have had the same issues. there are numerous sites on the Internet now, if you go to Amazon I highly recommend any other site but joshes frogs."

Last two orders were bad!

"I have ordered twice from Josh's Frogs in the past 6 months. The first time (within that period), I ordered gut loaded banded crickets, I ordered 72 count. When I received my crickets, most were dead. I counted about 15-20 that were alive. I took a video, I took pictures and e-mailed them immediately. They responded and sent me a new batch, no cost to me and didn't have to pay for shipping either. I received it right away. It was a healthy batch and 96% were alive. This was great and they responded quickly. I ordered again about a week or so ago, crickets, a long with other dry goods. I paid for expedited shipping due to live animals ordered (the crickets). I received my order right away. Here is where I I had more issues with them. First, I ordered 3 different fake plants, I only received 2 and was charged for the 3rd one I ordered. Secondly, I ordered 5 mini deli cup squares (lids included as stated on the site), without their lids. Finally, I ordered more gut loaded crickets, again, most were dead. I also ordered some pinheads which arrived just fine (mostly). I took pictures and immediately e-mailed customer service. They refunded for the missing plastic plant and sent me the lids at no cost (no cost for shipping as well). The also currently sending a refund for the mostly dead crickets. I moved the crickets that were left to a separate container with fresh food. They ended up ALL dying the following day. A few days later, I received my lids, but! I received my lids with 5 more containers without lids! So I have 10 mini square deli cups and five without lids. I just have no idea how Josh's Frogs has been screwing up these orders? Are they paying attention? I will no longer be ordering from the. It is too much of a hassle, especially when I need these items ASAP and need to feed."

"I purchased 6 “blue phase whites tree frogs”. None of them are blue as depicted in the pictures on their website. I contacted Joshs via email. They denied any wrong doing. And offered nothing to convince me to continue doing business with them. "

Don't waste your time

"I've ordered from here over 15 times and never had a problem. I always order crickets for my geicos. I placed an order 4 days ago, and it still hasn't shipped. I sent them an email and I got a nasty response back telling me to read up on their shipping policy. Well, their shipping policy states that orders are shipped out within 1 to 3 days. Today is day number 4 and still nothing. Their shipping costs more than the product itself. I responded to her email and told her she replied with the rudest response possible and I will no longer be shopping with them anymore. It seems that a lot of people have issues with their customer service. "

"Bad customer service, combined with bad logistics. This place is down right, just bad, bad, Bad. This company does not come close to meeting the level of service that they claim in their advertising. Recommend finding alternate supplier because this company just Does Not CARE!"

DOA Springtail Cultures; Stole $50 from me

"I would not buy anything alive from this company:

Below is the text of the 18th email in the back and forth with their customer 'service' after receiving a shipment of Springtails that was absent the springtails (5 32oz containers at $9.99 a piece with only 20 springtails in one culture and 4 springtails in one other and the rest of the containers devoid of anything except charcoal:

"My point would be that I would have the same number of springtails right now if I had just purchased a single $7.99 'unit 'of springtails, instead I purchased $49.95 of springtails and received $7.99 worth of springtails. If you can't provide a product as described then don't sell it. You should also make note (maybe restate?) when you provide the 'refund, reorder, store credit' option that S&H is not included in the refund amount (regardless if it's posted on your website). As far as I'm concerned, I spent $82 on something and I did not receive the something I paid $82 for. I now have to go find a reputable supplier of springtails and spend even more money. I'm not sure what it is that is wrong in your production/ product quality, but you as a company need to research and determine the cause/issue and then make sure it doesn't happen again."

They do not refund S&H (Shipping was $32) which is ludicrous especially in a situation like this where they failed to provide the product that I purchased. This is borderline theft on their part.

I received $29.95 back for the three lifeless cultures but paid $19.98 + $32 S&H for the two cultures that barely had any springtails in them.

Decent Products, Awful Customer Service

"The products they produce are usually a decent quality, which is a lot better than it sounds as far as online reptile/plant/insect retailers go. But my god is their customer service awful, they seem to just spew the same scripted lines and will stop replying after about 2 emails. I've had to contact customer service a few times with poor results, but the worst time (and most recent) was about springtails I had ordered which arrived in a completely dried out and dead container which they told me was totally normal and adult springtails *never* survive...which isn't true in the slightest, even when ordering from Josh's Frogs in the past, after stating as such they said they, "were sorry we weren't able to help you" and never talked to me again, essentially stealing $30 from me.

Another thing I think is noteworthy is how poorly their website is updated and stocked, they have pictures of products that say "out of stock", but then you click it and they have 30+ in stock, they have wrong information for the light and humidity conditions for a lot of plants that directly contradict every other source you look at, and now to top it off they seem to be having issues with payment in their checkout (only sent the support email for that a day ago though).

All in all I'm genuinely sad to say I'll be looking to buy product elsewhere until things get better, as time goes on their quality seems to be rapidly decreasing.

Edit: They got back to me about their website not working for payments. All that said was, "We do not have any control over that, it is the credit card processor that is denying the charge go thru. Our processor is PayPal." and that's it, no actual help or explanation just "it's not our fault its PayPals fault".

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE—> ARIANNA

"Fruit flies got drowned in their own media (Food) and I sent a email about it. Apparently Arianna doesn’t understand the words my package got turned over during shipping and all the media got all over the place.

So instead of Focusing on the issue she gave me this long explanation about how they die after laying eggs and and and..... I get it, it’s not my first fruit fly culture.
I still haven’t heard anything back and I am so disappointed. The previous time I ordered fruit flies I had absolutely no problems.

They can be sure all my friends and their friends will No longer support them and we wil spread the word!!!
