"SO, I DARE you to call the toll free or local number and ask a question. Go to www.complaints.com and search "Jansen Medical Supply" if you want to know more.
The guy that answers the phone is TERRIBLY rude. I'm not a defensive or loud person at all, and I did nothing to make him treat me so rudely. I live in a US territory and hes telling me, "unless you work in a place that makes sense we will never ship, not my problem." I was made to feel so bad, honestly I was shaking when I was done. I wish there was something we could do about this.
I say, even if you don't have a question, call the number to see how immediatly rude the man is, it's actually humorous to hear his rattling off at the mouth.

PLEASE, post here and on complaints.com when you have a bad experience.

Thank you.

"THIS MAN MADE ME CRY! I was trying to purchase a lift chair for my grandma, which is obviously a large investment. I called to find out if the model I was interested in had 1 ram (lifting cylinder) or 2 and I was informed that I did not know what I was talking about and that I should not be shopping online. I stated that I had been involved in the purchase of 8 different lift chairs and the lifting mechanism is called a ram. He said "That is not a term in the industry and you do not know what you are talking about." I called the manufacturer and got my questions answered in 2 minutes (They knew what a ram was and it only had 1). When I found out that my local dealer did not have a web site and is an hour and a half away, I called Jansen back to find out how they handled warranty work. I got as far as saying "I have a question" and he interrupted me and said "Did you think that I wouldn't know it was you calling back - I told you not to waste my time." I replied that I just had a warranty question. He rebuttled stating "I told you to go to your local dealer." He interrupted me again when I said that I had the manufacturer answer my 1st question but, I had one for him with - "There is no point in this conversation, I have no interest in doing business with you or answering any questions." I then asked if that meant that he did not honor manufacturers warranty in which he replied "Not for you, you obviously abuse equipment since your grandma has gone through 8 lift chairs." I asked him what he was doing selling lift chairs online if he would not honor manufacturer's warranty out of state to which he replied "I am not going to dabble in hypatheticals, if you place an order online I will cancel it." I said by the way, my grandma has had 8 in fifteen years, and currently 2 are at her house and 3 are at the cabin and other family member's houses. He said "yeah right" and hung up on me.
I cryed out of sheer frustration with the conversation (if you could call it that)and because people who have lift chairs obviously have a hard time getting around and may have to order something like this online and this company is at the top of allot of searches. He got rude when I asked him a simple mechanical question that has great bearing on the life of the chair and downright mean when I asked him about warranty - I would not presume that this man would honor warranty at least out of state. I WOULD NEVER ORDER A LARGE TICKET ITEM FROM HERE.
