Changed returns policy after the order was placed.

"I ordered some items that require a quote from sales. It was the SDC trim set in a stainless steel finish, but sales quoted me the trim in a different finish in dull chrome, and to my mistake, I didn't catch the error and placed the order.

When I got the item, I discovered it was in a different finish, so I tried to get a replacement. JMAC sales insisted that SDC does not offer different finishes on the trims but only on the locksets. Knowing this was impossible, I refuted it, and JMAC doubled down and told me to call SDC.

I called, and SDC confirmed they offer trims in different finishes that match the lockset (obviously..), but JMAC refuses to exchange the item, so I asked for an RMA to initiate a return.

I shipped it back and was charged with a 35% restocking fee (the order value was 1036.1, and I got 676.04 back). I looked at their returns policy, which stated a 7% restocking fee, so I asked sales to look into it.

After multiple follow-ups over two weeks, I got a reply saying they have a 35% restocking fee, and then I noticed they updated their returns policy on their website. I got a screenshot of the before and after the update, but I don't think there's much recourse I can take.

Took payment before having items in stock

"I order a month ago 7 CO-REPL, they said on web site they were available and in stock, now a month later It didn’t have shipped but they took the money on my credit card and they told me they have to restock: They should charge you once they are ready to ship and have the products available, Nit sure now if I can trust them! Still didn’t receive an up date for shipping. "
