"These guys stink. There servers are very slow and their Tech. Support staff are ignorant (I have gone back and forth with them many times on different issues to finally have them fix things on their end that they kept saying was on my end). I have used them for a few years with lots of problems and I am switching now. They blew away my entire hosting account after 3 years of service without contacting me to tell me that my credit card info. was out of date and now they tell me that they can't restore my files, sorry, they were deleted. Stay away from them!"
"IX's servers are slow. Their support staff is utterly incompetent.
During a move to a new server farm, they placed their default index.html page in my directory breaking my site twice. When I inquired about it, they changed my DirectoryIndex director for who knows what reason, breaking my site once more.
They have failed to admit their mistakes. Instead blaming it on "some one hacked into my site and placed all of IX's default files there".
I eventually got them to turn over the FTP logs. The logs only show log on username, time stamp, and IP. They were also missing entries that should have been there.
They have no other logging in place that could evaluate their situation. Completely unacceptable.
They simply keep saying that "there is no way this could have happened" when it clearly happened. Twice.
Connections from my php site to their mysql database are refused about 2% of the time. I'm running a vanilla SMF forums install.
Stay away from these people."
"IXWebhosting is awful! I have to say that my experience with them was less than acceptable. Their servers would slow way down every few days, rendering my site extremely slow and at times, even not accessible. IXWebhosting's customer support is also quite lacking.
After I moved to another web host, my site got about twice as fast and tons more reliable. I would recommend not going with IXWebhosting.
