"I bought the HS3 pro software with the intentions of replacing my Stargate HA controller. I have 4 RCS TR16 thermostats. Their plugin will only work with 1. There has been a bugfix reported a long time ago, and no one has worked on it. I have posted to the forum with no help. So far I can turn on some lights. They don't have good digital inputs and outputs. If you are a do it yourself person, you can do an add on of an arduino board, with relays. I have started down that road. It seems like the overall system is ok. But it likes to work with wireless. I prefer wired when possible, because too many things now are hackable. It also seems that I have had a problem when I make a change, It can't see the web interface. Something in the .ini file gets changed, and it doesn't work. So last night I had to unplug my Christmas lights that were on controlled outlets. Just something to fix again. I also have a Caddx 8E system. It loads the zones / partitions from my Caddx system, but 1 of the doors is missing. I can go to the caddx keypad and everything is there. But the Homeseer plugin didn't read it in. So all the doors will show an intrusion except my backdoor."

I never needed to call the HS Helpdesk in the first 30 days as I got all the answers I needed quickly from searches and online posted questions in the highly active HomeSeer Forum. "This was not my first purchase with Homeseer but it was my best! I had ordered a newly released product (SQR001) and wanted to work with it over the weekend, but failed to select the right shipping for that. The order system allows for a message to be posted and sure enough I got replies and was able to advance the shipping right at the last momemnt to have the product delivered on Saturday.

"After testing allmost all of the available z-wave software controllers i decided for homeseer. Although it is the most expensive it's the only one I found working at least. But for the money it should have a graphical user interface. Luckily you can exdent it with plugins (some of them are free) but the free user interfaces are basic only and don't support z-wave thermostats. I recently bought my second z-wave thermostat, a 2gig ct30, only to find that the z-wave interface is not supporting status of operation mode. Something I would expect hoomeseer is telling in their shop."
