"Posted a good price on the canon 15mm lens. Purchased the lens two days later received an email to contact the vendor. Talked to a sales person who tried to sell additional products / warranty, up-sell. Another few days and received an email that the 15mm canon fish eye lens was on indefinite back order.
Perhaps this was true but I would prefer to know up-front if the lens is available versus waiting a lengthy time period to find out that the seller does not have in stock what they post on the web."

A week later I called and they stated they did not have the item to sell and claimed they sent me an email to call on that same date. Completely untrue. Had I not called I never would have known. They do not carry all of the items on their website. Buy elsewhere."
"I ordered a Canon 50D with 28-135mm zoom lens on February 23. I spoke directly with Adrian, who after trying very hard to up-sell me on various items, assured me that the camera would be shipped within 24-48 hours.
Today I received an email saying that the camera was on backorder and they had no idea when the item might be available for shipping.
The toll free "customer service" number that they provided in the email - ***-***-**** - was a non working number.

"I ordered a flash from this company after reading a review on this site. I received an email from them today (Monday) stating they needed more information. The man asked for the three digit code on the back of my card. As soon as he had that number he began making small talk about the product. He was very complimentary about the person who recommended the product. He then said "Oh.. this is discontinued and out of stock." I asked why this wasn't reflected on the site and he said "that's why I called... to let you know that." No. The reason he called (I thought) was to get my three digit code from the back of my card. This company practices what is fairly common with online retailers: They lowball the price on something they don't cary, and then try to get you on the phone to up sell you to a different product. I will NOT be doing business with Highpointcameras.com again. It's a waste of time. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. The experience with the small talk and the shift in explanations for the call have left me nervous about my credit card information. I'm heading back to Amazon."

After much dialogue with the VP for customer service, was able to reach a very agreeable price and resolution to the situation. He was polite and professional throughout our at times heated discussion and I was so impressed that I actually purchased additional products while speaking with him. By far the best experience I have ever had with customer service. I will not only be purchasing more merchandise through highpoint.com in the future, but I will actively encourage others to do so as well.

I ordered my camera on 12/26, the day after Christmas after seeing that I didn't get a camera for Christmas. Not only was it amazing that they were open, they shipped it out to me the same day. Now I may not be in the shipping industry, but doesn't ground shipping mean 5 - 7 business days? Well not with these guys. I got it that Monday. 3 days later and those 3 days were on the weekend.
