"I had purchased some parts for my T-Rex 600E on the website. I got my parts in the mail and the skids that I ordered were for the 550. I called customer service and spoke to Dan who was rude and unhelpful. He never offered a return option for the $4.99 part until after I said somthing to him. He continued to argue with me about how this was my fault because I ordered the part. If he was trying to scare customers away, bravo, job well done. It is likely that I will not order parts from helihobby in the future. I suggest you find a hobby shop that prides themselves in customer service. They don't care about the customers here."

"It's very hard to review this shop because to do so you have to have an invoice number, but to have an invoice you have to purchase and to purchase they have to have what you want, here is where they fail!

Of the 8 times I have visited the store, they have not had the parts I wanted 7 times. Basic Trex parts.. Nope. Popular Gyro.. in next week.

Here is the playback of my last visit. Arrived at 9:55.. store opens at 10. 10:15 someone finally shows up, but they don't open the gates till at least 10:25. Wait for counter help, ask for my part.. Trex 450 flybar.. nope.. we're out. Ask for the manager because I just drove 30 miles for this only to find he is as complacent as they get.
"You should order more of the popular parts!"
"Your not on this side of the counter, are you?" he replies! WTF!!
"I work for a multi-billion $ company and we order parts when we run out! And if we run out we make sure our customers get what they need ASAP"
""We'll we're not a billion $ company."
"And you never will be at this rate!"

As I walked out I made sure to mention to the "manager" that there was a sign on their front window regarding customer service.
"Provide excellent customer service" - Fail
"Superior Selection" - Fail

I won't ever bother again! Web or store. There are too many other retailers you don't hear this about.

Good luck becoming your "not-billion" $ company.. Opps, my bad.. they are already there!

"After reading the reviews here I decided to order from Helihobby. I have had very bad experiences ordering from r/c companies before so I check everything out.

I called Helihobby on 07/23/2008 and spoke with Nikki who took the time to listen to what I wanted and then recommended some options to me. I placed my order and shortly received a tracking number and on 07/25/2008 it arrived normal priority mail. I ordered a complete kit from them which I realized I would have to assemble but after opening the box I was overwhelmed. I called HeliHobby and again spoke to Nikki who pointed me in the right direction to get help for setting up my heli and today I flew the heli!! It flies fantastic I am so amazed with it!

I am so happy with Helihobby I had to create an account here to give them a good review. The helicopter I purchased was a Trex 450 with a Futaba 6ex Fasst. I can’t imagine what I would have done without Nikki! She also included some nice things in the package for me which I am not sure is common but it really helped.

Thank you Helihobby I will be ordering again!! I hope you read this Nikki you are great!

"Overall, I am very happy with Helihobby. I have placed 5 orders with them. In those orders I have purchased 10+ parts, 1 heli kit, and I have NEVER had a single problem with the company. Despite the fact that they are located in California, and I am located in New Jersey, the shipping was as advertised.. Shipped same day, and FAST! For example, if I ordered parts Monday morning, I usually saw my parts on Wednesday! That's faster than other retailers on the East Coast.

Overall, I would say they have some of the best prices around. I also like that I can check if items are in stock on the spot.

I purchased an Esky belt cp from them in late November. Unfortunately, it arrived with a malfunctioning radio. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it would not..Despite the fact that I reported the problem 7 weeks after the order date, Helihobby still offered to replace the helicopter with a new kit. I received an RMA online. I wound up not sending the heli out, as I replaced the radio with a computer radio anyways, but the fact that they offered to replace the heli surprised me. They went about everything very professionaly, and communication went well.

A word to the other people who rated helihobby..RC helicopters are not a life or death matter. Buy spares well advance in time, as certain factors such as holidays.. are NOT controllable, nore the responsibility of a hobby shops. If you want your parts incredibly fast, order from a local source.

I have been buying parts from Heli Hobby since November, and I will continue to do so because of excellent pricing, fast shipping, and good customer service!

"I just ordered from them... and haven't even gotten my submicro heli
assemebled... and already regret the purchase through helihobby.

1) somehow their order system added a "mixer" I didn't want... and after I
entered my purchase information and completed the order; I noticed it.
Granted this was likely my fault... but it was the start of my problems.

I immediately sent an "contact us" form to them regarding the mistake.
They claimed 1-2days return email; which I NEVER received.

I tried calling 4-6times on Monday... through out the day... and NEVER got
anyone on the phone!

Guess what... they shipped the item ...

2) I ordered on sunday night (new years); and they didn't ship until
Tuesday!

3) They ONLY ship USPS. No Fedex or UPS... so no "overnight" options.

4) 50% of their merchandize is out of stock...

4) And the worst as I pointed out last night:

"I very CLEARLY ordered FUTJ70 which according to your WWW site is:
FUTJ70 Transmitter Futaba 7C_H_P Receiver R127DF 4xS3151
and even on your order invoice it was listed as:
7CHP

yet somehow... you managed to ship me a
7C_A_P

The _A_ is worthless to me because this is for a HELIcopter which you should
know being a helicopter-only www site.

When my wife called on my behalf today (I have day job... can't call during
their normal business hours) and as I understood it they claimed what they
sent was the same basic radio.... the only difference was the "click" in the
throttle / left "y" direction.

Now being Heli experts; you think they'd know that having the "click" would
be a mistake on the heli!

Their solution?
Send back the existing radio (by USPS!) and when they get "confirmation"
it's in the mail... they'll send the correct radio.
They also will "refund" me for shipping.

So basically; they majorly screwed up... missing my presious "weekend" build
window... and all they can do their mistakes is above. So it looks like Best
case I might have what I paid for by the end of next week.

In short; DO NOT BUY from HeliHobby.com (by the internet anyway).

"This was my first dealings with Helihobby and it was dissapointing. I ordered 3 helicopter parts with 2 day shipping that cost $22.00. I also made a note to process quickly as I needed the parts for the weekend. The order was placed at the beginning of the week, which should have been time for the items to make it. I contacted them in 3 days via email after not receiving an "items shipped email" but never received a response. The weekend passed so I called. The representative told me the order had been cancelled. I told her I had not cancelled and asked who did. She could not tell me who or when. She then stated that two of the items I ordered had been cancelled but one had not and was on backorder. The even for which I needed the parts had passed so I told her to cancel the order and refund my money. She said it would take about 7 business days to get my money back. I didn't say anything at the time but I thought that was a long time since I paid with paypal and they received the money from me immediately.

Approximately 10 days later I still had not been refunded for my cancelled order. I intiated a complaint with paypal.

On day 11 I walked in the house and saw I had a message. It was helihobby advising that one of my items was in and that the order would ship when the rest arrived. I contacted them immediately and gave my order number and said that it had been cancelled days ago and I had not been refunded. The rep responded that the order was not showing up and apparently was cancelled. I told them about the message I had gotten just minutes before stating the items would ship. They finally put someone on the phone that knew something. My order was then cancelled and my money refunded that same day.

My impressions of this company is that they do not have a firm grasp on their orders. The only call I received was 15 days after my order. Thats a long time for parts I was looking for 3 days after ordering. With a name suggesting a main focus on helicopters I thought this would have been the ideal place to get the parts I needed and get them on time but I was wrong. I was stuck with no parts and no way to get them in time for the event I was going to attend.

I would not count them out completely and I don't think they are fraudulent. If you do order make sure its something you don't need fast, even though their site claims they ship it fast so you get it fast.
