Dangerous products from a company that doesnt care.

"This sprayer I purchased uses plastic that is way too thin to hold the pressure that builds up in the tank. The plastic can give way and the contents will go everywhere including in your face and eyes. Even if you are wearing standard safety goggles the liquid will get behind them into your eyes. I reached out to harbor freight and have been completely disappointed with their response. In my opinion they don't care about customers and don't care if they sell a dangerous product. They did not show any action to make sure this doesn’t happen to another customer. All they did was ignore me for about 2 years every way they could. Ignoring my calls, emails etc. Just wasting my time and turning a customer into an x customer instead of making the issue right they just make it worse. It is a complete stupid move on the companies part because instead of me going around and telling everyone how great harbor freight made the situation right I will now forever go around and tell everyone how bad my experience was. Complete genius. You might think you are getting a great deal but saving $5 isn't worth getting injured because the company doesn't care about safety when manufacturing the product."

Most of these wheels in stock have sidewall bulges. There is a bulge across the tire where the sidewall bulge is.

If you try to exchange the defective tire at the Carson City NV store, the employees there cannot follow their own exchange policy. Exchange policy says ( proof of purchase ) My receipt is proof of purchase! A valid Government ID for a return must be presented for a return! ( But not for a exchange ) Their RETURN POLICY is for returns ONLY, NOT EXCHANGES !!!

I will not show my ID for a $ 9.99 dollar exchange. Their use of my ID is for some sort of scam, ID Theft or other nefarious purpose.

Lowe's. Home Depot, Walmart, and all other retailers in Carson City NV, DO NOT REQUIRE YOUR ID TO MAKE A RETURN OR EXCHANGE FOR LESS THAN $100.00 OR MORE.

I hope Harbor Freight Founder and CEO, ( ERIC SMIDT ) see's this.

I will no longer buy anything at Harbor Freight that is over $10.00 that might even have the slightest chance of needing a return or exchange !!

Harbor junk tool

"Harbor freight tools. Oops that's Harbor Junk Tools to be honest. This company does not take care of there customers. I had bought an air compressor with the extended warranty. A year later the air compressor needs to be taken back for an exchange. Because Harbor Junk Tools no longer has the air compreser available I have to pay OVER $200.00 for another air compressor more then what I had paid for the extended warranty. This is about the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened with Harbor Junk tools. Harbor junk tools wants you to buy the extended warranty knowing that they only keep their products for a short time, so the customers will ALWAYS need to pay more out of pocket when exchanging a product with the extended warranty. It's about what they can get from customers instead of treating the customer right. Save money and time by shopping at Home Depot or Lowe's. I will NEVER purchase anything again from Harbor Junk Tools because that the quantity you will get. That's why they are only a 1 1/2 star company."

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DECEPTIVE RETURN POLICY

This quote from Harbor Freight is 100% a LIE!



The generator was defective, thus when I returned the generator and battery I was charged a RESTOCKING FEE for something that I hope was NOT RESTOCKED!

Don't trust this company when you buy high dollar items and they arrive defective! They try and force you to take a replacement! There were two generators I considered, one from this company, the Predator 9000, and the Westinghouse 9500 unit, comparable in price. I chose the Predator, major mistake, it arrived with no negative battery cable, that did not bother me much, it was the LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE! When I called to see if I could get it replaced, I got a 3 hour run-a-round before finally being told that it came that way and I had to but the negative post! It was at that point I knew I didn't want to deal with this company and any product! Then I met the Sales Manager at the Conroe Harbor Freight Store, in Conroe, TX right off I-45, this person told me it's company policy to ALWAYS charge a 20% restocking fee defective or not! I showed him in writing where it says "May Charge", he said no, Harbor Freight ALWAYS charges the 20% restocking fee even on DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT! I recommend going somewhere else, it's safer!

Beware of Harbor Freight Return Policy

"At this Spring Hill, FL store you can now count on their NEW POLICY being customer NO-SERVICE. I have been shopping at Harbor Freight for years and have never had this problem, which also means I have never had to look so closely at their “return policy”, which has recently changed (after I got home to compare to older receipts). BEWARE…. This incident I’m about to describe, also pointed out to me that when you buy from Harbor Freight they now don't have to refund your money for any reason. As I noticed in their return policy, from the back of their receipt (which, conveniently, you can only read AFTER you have purchased from them)…. "The manager has the right to refuse returns of any item, at any time, for any reason, regardless of receipt". (Policy #8), so much for 90 days.
In the afternoon of October 23, 2022, I attempted to return my unopened, unused items that required the “supervisor” for return authority (Don). The total of the return, $34.05. I was told that my receipt (i.e. “Proof of Purchase”) and government ID was not good enough to complete this return and, that I also now needed to give my phone number to identify the sale record in the computer (even though my phone number was not used at the time of sale, nor was my name, meaning my phone number will not do them any good, since it is not in their system). I was further told that this phone number required “policy” was written within the return policy on the back of the receipt. I read it, and there is NO MENTION OF A PHONE NUMBER BEING NEEDED written in their policy on the back of the receipt. I didn't have a problem with following the written policy, but this guy making things up made me very suspicious. I asked to see the store manager, since this “supervisor” can't read his own policy, and I was told to come back to the store on Wednesday, since the store manager doesn't work on Tuesdays. No store manager in the store, during business hours, the WHOLE day??

Don the supervisor is either lying, or is just incompetent which is bad enough.

Sadly, out of principle, I will warn people when I can, and they have lost a long time regular customer over $34. If you can't trust them with the little things, you can't trust them with the big things.

poor products are Cheap... especially made in China and 3rd Worlds

"poor.. previously marginally acceptable. Today, I have decided to forego any further patronage as the last straw is some folding wheel chocks.. brand new/never used failed. Piece of junk and the Mt Vernon, WA store refuses any recognition of their products due to purchase date. I even demanded to cancel my ITC membership.. and they can not! Too damn funny - sad - strange for an American Company.. oh but wait a minute.. THESE GUYS ARE NOT AMERICAN BASED.. THEY ARE CHINESE. As I've live in China.. they do not warranty anything less appliances and large items.. but, even that is a battle. See the simularities.. Harbor Freight Tools is yet another example of anti-American principles, workmanship, and pride. AVOID -- BOYCOTT IS NEEDED AS AMERICA CONTINUES TO BE DESTROYED!!"

Dishonest company that charges for items it never ships

"Harbor Freight billed me for several items that never shipped, and shipped several items I never ordered. All from one particular warehouse. After 11 days of begging harbor freight via email, phone calls and social media, I have yet to be given any response at all.

* Two items came up missing from the Dillon, SC docs (I know this because the label was created, which is what happens moments before it is attached to the box an placed on the FedEx outgoing pallet...FedEx never received the box).
* The same warehouse neglected to include all the items in a different shipment (different tracking number)
* On a third shipment (yet a different tracking number, the same warehouse included several packages of zip ties I never ordered.

Harbor Freight refuses to address the issue
* I have contacted customer service several times by phone and many times by email over the past 11 days.
* I reached out to their social media department via facebook
* I called the Dillon, SC warehouse (since your customer service refused to do anything at all)

This is a clear cover up, as Harbor Freight has refused to address any of these issues for after 11 days of me continuously trying to get a response via phone, email, facebook.

* Air Impact Wrench: Mysteriously disappeared from the shipping dock, and they refuse to fulfill the order, even though they charged me for it.
* Air Ratchet: Mysteriously disappeared from the shipping dock, and you refuse to fulfill the order even though they charged me for it.
* Duct Tape: missing item supposed to be included with the Air Oil
* Zip Ties: Mysteriously arrived from Dillon SC without me ordering at all

I have had to open an investigation with FedEx, and have to wait for a billing cycle to open up Fraud / Theft investigations with my Credit Card Company

I seriously think they are going out of business, and just don't care about the consequences that other companies avoid like the plague.

Never buy from Habor freight

"I ordered an item from habor freight on March 3rd. As of today, March 9th, there is no shipment and when I called the customer service, no one picks up the call even after waiting for half an hour to 40 minutes. Tried 2 days but got fed up. All their message says is label created whereas they misinformed me that my item has been shipped. Total fraud company.

IT Department Chief Needs To Be Fired

"Harbor Freight has installed a telephone front end that tries to sell you services not associated with Harbor Freight and which you do not want. In addition, their forms that show your shipping address and credit card info will not accept a single letter in the first name box -- even though the system uses autofill. This is not an overwhelming problem with the shipping address but if your credit card uses a single letter as your first name, the purchase wil not be approved. Harbor Freight lost an $80.00 order because of this."

Hire a new cashier

"I Was at the store on Hall road in Utica in MIchigan on 12-18-2020 at 11am. My father was just admitted to the hospital with possibly covid. I approached the register to pay for my items and begin to put my items on the counter, (NOT A SINGLE person behind me) my phone rang and I stopped unloading some of the several items I planned on purchasing out of my cart to answer my phone it was my mother calling about my father (although that should not matter) the cashier looked at me and said do you mind? I said excuse me my father is in the hospital her response was so is mine, NEVER in my life have I been treated with such disrespect by a cashier, was it past her break time? Like I said no ne was in line behind me. I wish I would have got her name but I ended leaving the store NEVER to return! If you can not be kind do not work with the public, Karma is coming for you and unfortunally my father did test positive for covid but is doing okay at the moment!! "

Ordered about 5 weeks ago and still nothing

"Ordered log splitter about 5 weeks ago. Can't review what I never received. Harbor Freight told me that they would check into it and call me back about a week ago, but still no response. Their website says order has been already "fulfilled," but I never received anything. Guess I have to file a charge back dispute via my credit card. I wrote basically same review on there website, but they blocked it."

Product incorrectly described as Aluminum rivets

"I bought two packages of aluminum rivets based on the website specifications which said nothing about them being steel shanked. The package in the store is a plain plastic case wrapped in stretch wrap with the part number only. I went back to the web site and enlarged the photo in the description which is nothing like the product I purchased. The web site photo does state steel shank but you have to enlarge the photo to see it. So very disappointed in HF dishonest and deceitful product marketing. I can return them, but my nearest store is 41 miles so, no I'm not driving 82 miles AGAIN! "

"The management at this organization do not understand basic business concepts. The idea of customer acquisition and sales revenue generation (backbone to any business entity) is too difficult for their management team to understand. Awful Service

"I ordered the metal cutter machine with some extra 3" cut-off wheels (That they recommend).
They sent the wheels in advance, but after that they sent a message saying that they don't have the metal cutter in stock, and I need to wait indefinitely, or cancel the order.
When I tried to cancel the order and return the wheels (I can not use it without the main machine), they told me that I can not return the wheels. Now what I supposed to do with the wheels? It's not my fault that they did not have the machine in stock. Awful service, don't buy from this people.
