"Sent my Zenith watch in for a crystal replacement. I debated sending it as it is a light scratch, but was driving me crazy in sunlight - right over where the power reserve indicator is. Like a magnet.
Sent it; Gov acknowledged receipt & then after a couple of weeks gave me an estimated repair cost of over $950. For just a crystal replacement mind you. No service or anything else. What does that take? 30 minutes?
Govberg “estimated” repair time 60 business days!!!!
So I decline. It is a $4500 watch after all. Well gee - to get my watch back I need to pay an unexpected return shipping fee of $70. But OK - I sorta get that - I’ll pay & they’ll ship
It back. Done. Paid & waited.
Fast forward, it has been well over a month and I still have no update as to when the watch will be shipped back to me. None. This despite daily emails from me to them via their site and MANY VM by me to them via their site.
All they have to do is ship the damn thing - or just reply to my emails. Something. PLEASE GOVBERG.
Unprofessional, overpriced and unreliable/ unresponsive.

"Wow these guys are a complete joke! I sent in my Hamilton Khaki Pilot to get an estimate for repair. Tons of shadiness with this company. 1) their repair estimate was $600! That's more than watch costs brand new! 2) They specifically said that the watch crystal was scratched. Interesting since it's a newer watch with a stock SAPPHIRE crystal (the most scratch resistant crystal you can buy)! 3) I sent my watch in a plastic ziplock bag with the screws and little metal retainers to hold the movement in place. The message for the inspection says that the watch is missing the screws and retainer tabs! If you don't want to get back all of the pieces of your watch that you sent then Govberg is the company for you! Who knows how much it's going to cost me just to get those screws from Hamilton! Don't waste your time and money with Govberg!"

They quoted me a lead time of over one and a half months for a basic service, bracelet refinish, and crown replacement. 10 days after the quoted leadtime, I followed up and they said that some parts were delayed (a standard Omega crown???) and they said it would be done in 2.5 more weeks. In about 3.5 weeks, I followed up again. I finally received an email 4 days later saying that it had finally shipped. I finally received the watch back after 3.5 months. I would not do business for a watch service of this type by Internet again."

"Bad experience. Sent in a watch for new crystal and was charged $125 plus shipping. When watch was returned (without orig. box I sent a month later), the watch wasn't working. I inquired with them as to if they tested the watch before shipping and they didn't reply. Bad customer service. Watch could have been damaged in shipment but GWR didn't seem to give a hoot what happened! Went to Yelp site and saw many many bad reviews of GWR and wished I had seen them prior to dealing with this lousy company!"
"They overhauled my Tag over two years ago, and it is a real time-keeper. Also, they reworked my wife's 75 year old petite, gold-cased watch, bringing it up to current standards. Not only is it beautiful, it, too, is a real time-keeper.
They are "my" watch folks for sure.

Govberg is one of those exceedingly rare companies on The Net who does deliver and will care for your treasured articles as much as you do...

When I learned that my repair would be completed and shipped on October 10, I respectfully asked if they could back it up to October 9 and ship it overnight for delivery October 10 -- in time for my trip to San Francisco on October 11.
Govberg's staff immediately went to arrange fulfillment of my
request and I joyfully received my watch on October 10.
It arrived packaged as if it contained the crown jewels and was even more beautiful than when I originally purchased it.

"Govberg did a wonderful job on my Rolex. It's just like new. The staff were excellent and the product better than I expected. While they under estimated the amount of time it would take, the final time I spoke with them resulted in a much more accurate estimate.
I had contacted Rolex directly and looked at several other sources of repair/refurbishment, Rolex could not do the job, and others did not give me the same sense of confidence that Govberg did.
