Beth at Glasscages.com is RUDE!!!

"I ordered a couple aquarium frames from Glasscages.com and they came 2 days later. I opened the box to check them out and they were all beat up and scratched up like someone took sandpaper to them, they were loose in the box with no packaging. I contacted them and they agreed to pick them up and give me a full refund but Beth informed me that because of their poor packaging of the frames and awful condition they were in that they can no longer sell anything to me and for me to find another source to purchase my aquarium needs from. Really you send me crap and now wont replace them or sell me anything else. No Problem!!!!!!"

"I recently purchased a 30"x13" oak stand from glasscages. The stand isn't fancy, but is better constructed than the All-glass pine stands that you see in the stores.

The stand has a dimensional lumber base with 1/2" oak veneered plywood forming the walls. It has a solid top. The stand is constructed very simply with butt joints and brads. It is quite strong, but don't look for any furniture grade construction here. This is a mass-produced, simple stand. I do feel that it is superior to the other stands available in its price range however. The solid oak trim and veneers give the stand a quality appearance once finished. It does a good job of looking more expensive than it is.

I do have three gripes with the stand. First, there is no cutout on the back wall for wiring, plumbing, ect. You will have to cut that out yourself. Second, the hole for the front "door" was cutout very sloppily. Lastly, one of the mitered corners on the door trim wasn't cut properly leaving an uneven gap. They are all small issues, but I wish they would have spent a little more time making everything right when it was being constructed.

The stand was VERY WELL packaged. It came encased in sheets of styrofoam and was double boxed. Shipping took nearly two weeks, suggesting that they had to build the stand before it was shipped.

I am satisfied with my purchase. The stand is not perfect, but for the price I am willing to make some sacrifices. If you are looking for a stand that will look better than the $100 units at most fish stores, this is a great alternative. If you are looking for a furniture grade stand with proper cabinet construction, I would look elsewhere.
