What I wanted more of was fidelity, but I wanted it to cost me as little as possible. I started researching moving magnet cartridges. One of the sites that I came across that sold the particular cartridge that I had read some good things about was Garage-A-Records.
They had the item I wanted in stock, a Nagaoka MP-100, they had the lowest price and they also had the lowest shipping costs. I thought wow should I take a chance on these guys or spend almost $15 more and get it from someone I’d purchased through before? Well I checked with some of the guys on the vinyl forum and this vendor was fairly well known and nobody had anything bad to say so I ordered it from them.
The website is easy to navigate, all the typical info is there and easy enough to get at. Their online store interface worked well enough, gave me the option to use PayPal which went a long way to making me feel comfortable using them. Checkout was smooth and effortless. Much to my surprise shipping was crazy fast and I got my item in 2 days! Not only was it delivered quickly but it was well packaged and arrived in perfect working order.
I would and will buy from them again in the future. I almost wish I’d had cause to contact them for some reason so I could have seen in their customer service was as fantastic as their simple handling of my order.
If you’re looking for Record supplies, replacement stylus (needles), new cartridges, pretty much anything related to records or playing them, these guys would appear to have nearly all bases covered. Give them a try, if you have the same experience I did, you’ll be glad you did."
