gift cards are just missing

"I ordered $50 in gift cards on december 15 for my nephews, to be delivered dec. 25. It is now January 2 and the cards are nowhere. Two calls to customer service, and Fandango has not otherwise communicated with me about the situation. The person at customer service says they can do absolutely nothing (not even re-issue the card electronically or give me a refund). Seriously why have a customer service number if the only real customer service can only be provided by some "corporate office" that is not communicating? This is a total scam. I am probably going to have to just contest the charges with my credit card company. I expected more because it seems like Fandango is a big national company but clearly they are not equipped to provide the products they are selling. "

BEWARE!!! Scammers

"I bought tickets and the date they gave me was different from the one I put in and they refused to change it or give a refund. Had to pqy again to see the movie in person when I noticed the tickets they gave me were wrong. Completely unhelpful staff the just sends copy pastes of company policy without actually trying to read or understand your problem. Please save your money and spend it anywhere else."

Terrible business

"This company is making a killing off of not refunding people their money back. I bought 3 tickets and my car would not start so I was unable to get my money back due to them telling me well its corporate policy after the show start. To me this is unfair and life happens and they don't accomodate people at ALL! My money is gone down the drain and definitely wont be buying off of this site again. "

No Customer Service

"Well, I wanted to take my wife on our first movie date in more than 12 years due to our kids. I was quickly purchasing tickets for the Saturday showing and bought them. Much to my horror, I failed to select Saturday and the ticket was for the current day. As soon as I found the issue, I reached out to Fandango's customer service to explain everything; however, the time I purchased was right before the showing started. AND, based upon their corporate policy, no refunds or exchanges can occur after the showtime had started. When I shared that I would never purchase tickets seconds before a showing, the response was this (and I'm quoting): "So sorry but we have corporate policies that must be followed." That's great customer service. I've deleted my app and will never use them again."

Soulless Company

"Two words - "Soulless company." I'd also like to mention that Fandango is owned by Comcast and AT&T, so you should extend your outrage in their direction too. I'm personally going to avoid each of these companies for the rest of my life. I think they are all horrible, and they do NOT care about the customer-they care about money. I hope others will follow suit in giving these companies the cold shoulder."

Deceptive Fandango

"Received 100.00 Fandango gift certificate for Christmas. Buyer assumed that since our local theater’s movie times were listed, we’d be able to get use the gift card there. This is the only theater within 40 miles of our house, and no other options are given when our zip is inputted. When I went to purchase tickets through their app, it said the theater won’t sell through Fandango. Live chat made me wait 20 minutes then gave me 30 seconds and while I was typing, disconnected me. I started over. Second chat rep told me to call a number that had been changed as of Jan.1. Finally got through and was told there are no options in our area and they won’t refund card. He said the movie times for nonparticipating theaters are in black, and orange for those who participate. A person looking at their site to get a card would have no possible way of knowing this. Fandango is a scam and should be avoided by all! Get gift cards directly from your theater. They also charge an undisclosed “convenience fee” from every ticket sold!"

NOT HAPPY

"I started using Fandango to buy my movie tickets and at first had no problems. Until this past Monday when I bought a ticket to see the Gemini Man. Instead of printing the ticket I had it sent to my mobile phone. I do this to save paper. Well I get to the theater and try to pull up my ticket except that their site does not load. I check my phone and I have a strong signal so that isn't the problem. Just in case I check to see if I can access other sites like Facebook, my email and look up some random site on google. It all loads just fine which tells me it's not my phone or my signal. So I attempt to load my tickets again, and again I get the "this website is not responding" response. By this time I am **** and I only have 15 minutes till my movie starts so I buy tickets at the box office and go in and see the movie. Well the next day I send off an email to them requesting a refund explaining the problem. The email me back and tell me that I need to request the refund by clicking on the "unable to make my show" link. So I do, and it tells me that it is past the show time and that they can't give me a refund. So, I use the chat feature and talk to someone who tells me the same thing that it is Fandango company policy to not give out refunds for past events. I explained to them that it was not my fault and had I known this I would have done just that. All they did was apologize and say there was nothing they can do. I told them that I was not happy and this was unacceptable. Now I work in guest service and we do EVERYTHING to make our guest happy and if that means giving a refund to an irate guest to make them happy and get them to return then that is what I do regardless of "company policy". I still have no refund. I will NOT be using fandango ever again, and suggest that anyone who does to be careful. make sure that you are able to access your tickets and if not get your refund that day!!!! DO NOT WAIT! "

Be careful of the inconvenience fee they charge

"We purchased tickets for a movie at a local theater through Fandango. We were shocked to find that the theater had closed early that night when we arrived with our family. When we contacted Fandango to get a refund, they refunded the amount paid minus the Fandango convenience fee and explained that the convenience fee is nonrefundable because it pays for the company's customer service. What a joke. Shouldn't great customer service pay for itself?"

My movie was cancelled because of a power blackout, but no refund.

"My movie was cancelled because of a power blackout. I contacted Fandango to get a refund and got a stock negative response about not offering refunds after movie times. They obviously could not be bothered to contact the theater to verify what happened. Normally if I buy a service through a third party in exchange I expect extra service, but in this case I got less. Really not acceptable."

horrible service no refunds

"Fandango is a ripoff, they don’t give any refunds, don’t do any business with them. They never pick up the phone either I paid 100 dollars for a movie but missed the show, so I went to another place to buy tickets and sure enough they were cheaper. I called for one hour, they never picked up. So 100 dollars went down the drain for no reason, never buying from here again....."
