"The FD40CL mirror was defective and the glass vibrated so bad that I couldn't see what was actually behind and they sent another one. Well , it is the same way but not as bad. They wasted no time in their response on the first one. now tomorrow I will find out what is to be said on the replacement. I was allowed to keep the first defective one so I disassembled it and the problem is with the initial assembly not being as it should. There is no way to disassemble these mirrors where they can be repaired and used again, So the seller should look for another supplier. Maybe they will.

"I purchased a Rt. side mirror assembly from Discount Auto Mirrors for my 2014 Grand Caravan. The price was great compared to what a Dodge dealer wanted. The color was a great match as well (simple black). The wire connector matched the original and the mirror movement functions work well. I have not been able to tell if the heated mirror function works yet, as I just installed it today in fairly warm weather. The problem is the poor fit of this replacement mirror due to poor manufacturing. When the mirror was mounted to the door, the top of the plastic mirror bezel stuck out away from the door about 7/16". The first problem I noticed is that one of the plastic welds that hold the exterior plastic bezel to the metal bracket was loose. I could move the plastic about 1/8 of an inch on the plastic stud. I had to use a soldering iron to re-melt the manufacturer's poor work, add more plastic and melt it down to secure the bezel to the bracket as it should have been at the factory. Redoing the plastic weld did help some, but the bezel was still sticking out at the top about 1/4". Although the replacement mirror does use the original Dodge bolt to hold the mirror securely on the bottom, it uses a different type of set-up to attach the top. The metal bracket that bolts to the door has a hook type thing where the wire comes through that hooks onto the side of the hole. This is the only thing that secures the top of the mirror to the door. There is no adjustment to this hook and the way it was positioned, it did not pull the top of the mirror tight against the door. I had to add a spacer between the hook and the side of the hole in the door to make it pull the top of the mirror in flush with the door outside. Once I did these two corrections to a poor manufacturing job, the replacement mirror fit ok, although it is still not flush with the body at the outside front edge of the bezel.
This mirror saved me about $130 from what I would have paid for an OEM mirror, but its obvious that you get what you pay for. If you're not skilled at making your own corrections to poor engineering and poor manufacturing, I would recommend paying the extra money and getting an OEM mirror."
