"It was shipped securely and well, but it was extremely difficult to install. It took me over 3 hours to install the whole thing, but that was not the worst of it. Everything was cut 3mm too short of my device, which was exactly as it is on the website (MSI GL62M), and I had to improvise and cut off the top bar above the webcam so that it actually works. The area around the screen I had to bend in to prevent covering up the screen. I will never buy from this seller again."
"I purchased declarus laptop skin for my alienware 14x.
First of all the pros -
1) The skin was shipped in good packaged condition and on time.
2) It is not difficult to install. Me and my wife held all the four ends, were careful enough and were able to apply pretty fast.
Now the cons -
1) The laptop skin quality is not much to talk about.
2) If you have viewed decalrus website and read clearly the product description, I am going to say what has not been explained well.
(a) First of all they are not edge to edge fit and finish. They leave lot of gap along the edges and borders, making it a not so good look and feel.
(b) They are NOT precision cut skins as claimed in their website. They clearly have issues. In my case, the skin on the laptop screen was at fault. The skin covered a part (around 1cm) of my 14" screen display. If I tried to align it the skin would cover the webcam. And if I try to adjust the skin around the webcam, it covers a part of the screen. I cannot call this as "precision" cut skins if they are affecting screen visibility or webcam usage.
(c) The skin on the keyboard is also misaligned. In my case, I had to align the skin more on the left side intentionally because, if I try to align symmetrically, the skin covers the LED light around the touchpad.
(d) The skin on the LCD panel is also not edge to edge finish. But compared to the above 2 problems, you can live with that problem.
I contacted the seller by sending the images and clearly highlighting (or circling) the areas which was affecting the laptop functions. The seller was not willing to accept it as a problem with their product. Instead replied back saying that I have misaligned it while pasting it. Wish i could upload the images here. It could have been great. The mail communication went back and forth and I realized it is not worth the effort.
Anyways, pls be aware you are putting $35 on each product of Decalrus. Their product has its own limitations which is NOT explained in their website. I repeat, they are not edge-to-edge finish, NOT precision cut skins (could hinder screen, webcam visibility, touchpad usage).
If I knew these problems or explained in their website, I would have never opted for Decalrus. I wasted $35 of mine !!! They accept a return on the item after deducting the restocking fee and me bearing the return shipping charges. In the end, if I deduct the restocking fee and return shipping charges, it is not worth going for a return.
You can rather buy another skin product which fits accurately on your LCD panel atleast. There are lot of better products around."
