"DVCentury.com advertised 1 GB of DDR RAM for $78- I bought it- received a used 512mb module that did not even work right. I called and the owner "SAM" was very uncooperative. I will likely be taking him to court over this, and am now requesting a charge back from my credit card company. Fraudulent organization is not even BBB registered-I own a real computer store-with real bills, real problems and I don't have to rob people to make my living. This company needs to be shut down and that can only happen when people realize they are unscrupulous criminals that think they will never have to suffer any consequences for their shameful actions. "

"I purchased an external enclosure for my hard drive because I broke my other one. I was charged $8 for shipping via Priority Mail, and the drive came in a USPS flat rate box which costs $7.40, so shipping fee's were accurate without gouging. I ordered Sunday and paid the extra dollar or two for their 'expedited service' to have my item shipped within 24hrs ( vs the suppsed 3 day processing? ). I ordered on the 9th, got confirmation it shipped on the 10th, and it arrived on the 15th (from california to hawaii). I am happy with the purchase. The price was one of the more reasonable ones, I gave them the money and they shipped me my item in a timely fashion. I can't complain about this transaction with them, I am very pleased with the speed of the service, I had zero problems."

You order, they say they shipped the item (but in fact they didn't), you receive an email saying that they received the package back because your address/phone number was invalid, they charge you for an imaginary shipping and restocking fee... No tracking or proof of shipping is provided.

"I need 100 modems for my systems. I like PC-tel modems as they have worked with any system I have ever worked with. I found this company on PriceWatch and it looked like the prices were pretty good.

Thankfully, I only ordered "one" modem from these guys. The modem I received was a Motorola that looked like it was used. The reason I say it looked used is that the contacts were scratched and the printing on the chip itself was almost rubbed off. This looks like a pretty good indication that my suspicions are correct, but they dispute this.

I have contacted these people numerous times and can say with regret that this is about the worst company I have ever dealt with. I was told that even though they had shipped the wrong item, since I "opened" the package, I would have to pay a restocking fee. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard from a company. How was I supposed to know what I had if I didn't open the static bag? I was told that I could see what was in the bag without opening it. That's the way it went for several emails.

This company has just lost a potential very good customer who will go elsewhere.

Furthermore, as far as I am concerned, Pricewatch is a joke as it seems that ANY company can advertise there whether they are worth a crap or not.

Update: I got tired of trying to settle this thing by way of getting all my money back and told them that I was not wasting my time with them anymore.

Here is the email response I got from them:
"LIKE I’VE SAID, WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO!!! SOTP REPLYING IF THIS IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME LIKE YOU’VE INDICATED. BECAUSE NOW YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME!!!"

By the time I pay their ridiculous restocking fee (for their mistake) and the shipping charges back to them, it would not be worth the trouble.

I know that some people have had good experiences with this company, but I will be placing a notice on my website warning my associates to stay away from them. They are unprofessional and knowingly screw over their customers.

The last email I sent was an apology for my attitude in this matter. Even though they are 100% in the wrong about this, there is no reason for me to bring myself down to their level.

This is the response I received:
"No problem it’s cool, I just want you to understand that I am just a service personnel for the company and have to go by their policies. Therefore it’s really hard on us that customers like yourself go crazy on us even though I totally understand your part of the situation."

Apparently she DOESN"T understand my part of the situation or I would not have to pay for their mistake.

Just stay away from them. There are better places to shop.

" Worse internet company I've dealt with yet. Stay away! Sold me memory that was diiferent than what was ordered & I think they never even had the correct memory but didn't want to lose the sale. Lazy greedy merchants. Waste of alot of time and bad customer service. Its worth paying alittle more to avoid this out of an apartment store scam. Its been 2 weeks and my credit card still hasn't been credited. Never shop again."

"I ordered some PC 133 RAM from this company on Jan. 21. On the 24th, I got an email saying that "one of your select item that we do not carry in our local warehouse. It must be shipped from another warehouse location, which will take 2-3 business days.." I agreed to this but as of March 7 still had no RAM. After calling the company, I discovered that the RAM was on backorder and they would not be ordering more for several months, which they just happened to leave out of their email."

"Very incompetent, will never order from them again!!!
Ordered a video card. Never received info on when it was shipped. Sent a couple emails asking about it. Didn't receive reply. Then called them a week later. They told me the card is out of stock. Nowhere on their site did it say that. I told them to cancel my order, then called back in an hour to check if it was canceled and they told me that it was a mistake and that they have the video card. But i decided to cancel it anyway.

"Received Items in timely manner, one of the USB cables was missing, I e-mailed 3 times befoire deciding to call, so i called and explained that the cable was missing, I was told I would be contacted in 3 days, I was little surprised with that response for a $3 dollar item but I said ok, a week goes by and I have to call back as I have heared nothing, I get arecewptionist that has no idea I had talked to anybody so she checks with shipping and calls me back to tell me it was shipped with my other items and there is no way it could have not been shippede, so I asked are you syaing I am lying? o no I am not but there is no way they didn't ship it well I said they didn't round and round I go so she says she will contact me in a couple of days, I am ready to send the whole shootin match back over a $3 dollar item now. so I get an e-mail today 1/13/05 and it says the same thing in fact I will paste it here "Hi, I’ve took this issue to our shipping department manager and whereas he has investigated the issue by tracking it with the shipping provider and the result still shows that the cable was included in the package when shipping it out to you. Our manager has gotten two packages, one with the cable and one without the cable and the USPS shipping provider shows that the weight of the package with the cable was the same as the package which was shipped out to you. Like you’ve said it’s only a $3.00 cable there is no way for our company to not have sent you the item which you’ve ordered, at least that’s the how we run our business. Our shipping department keeps records of all the items which is packaged and shipped out therefore there shouldn’t be a mistake in not having to include the LED cables. Please check the package again, as we’ve done everything we can to track and all results came out to be the cables is included in your package."

If I would have known about htis site I would have never bought form these people, repeat to anyone else do not buy from these people they have no regard for customer service or do they provide quality items adn my hard drive i bought was floationg around in the shipping boxe with one layer of bubble wrap not packed well at all!

"Do not order from this company. I ordered a video card on September 17, 2004. The video card arrived on time. This was the only thing the company got right. Upon installing the video card and drivers the video card would work fine in Windows, however any 3d application would cause it to crash. After talking to ATI they recommended that I return the card due to defect. I applied for an RMA # on September 28, which I received. The card was sent out 2-day air and was received on October 1. The next and last email that I received was on October 6 stating that the card would be processed in 2-3 days and then tested in 3-7 days. On the 20th I called the company to find out where the replacement was and was informed that their technicians found nothing wrong with the card. After explaining the steps I had gone through with ATI they said they would send a different card. I then called that Friday to find out what the status of my order was. The customer service person sounded surprised when I asked when the new card would be shipped. She said that they had no record of me requesting that a new card be shipped out. She said that it was now corrected in the database. After not hearing from them again I sent them an email containing all my information and let them know that if they didn't fix the problem that I would put a stop payment on my charge and contact the authorities for fraud. After not hearing from them for 2 more days I called in the evening and spoke to another customer service person who said she would talk to accounting and have them straighten it out and reship the card. I called about 5 minutes ago and was told that they would not reship the card due to the fact that their techs found nothing wrong with the card. I told them to recredit my card or I would be contacting the authorities. Which I will be doing this evening. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE. They are either stupid, incompetent or both."

"Ordered 1 GB PC2700 which was defective. I tested it in two machines myself and neither would boot, would not even post. A colleague tested in his home machine and it booted, but Windows kept crashing and pointing to a memory error. Upon return DVCentury.com claims the RAM is fine and insists on charging a 15% restocking fee, despite the fact that the RAM is defective."
