Purchased a DR XLPro 30 Brush Mower

"Purchased a DR XL Pro 30 Brush Mower for 4K. Deliverd in a broken crate. Assembled per the IFU. Left brake was not working, and the wheels didn't operate.
Called DR and was told, this was not covered under warranty, and the customer is responsible for making adjustments to the brakes and power cable. Also, I should get someone to help me these adjustments.
Finally, a very nice lady named Trish tried to help and directed me to a dealer for help. The dealer picked up the machine and waited for DR to send a warranty claim. DR then told the dealer; this was not under a warranty. Very deceptive warranty!!!
I got so much runaround, that I ended up paying for everything. FYI, left brake still does not work!!
This company should be investigated for their false advertising and warranty.
The only person who cares about Customer Service is Trish, she actually called me and sent me a maintenance kit for my troubles.
Bottom line: DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM DR ... BUYER BEWARE..................

The DR26 mower from hell NEVER PURCHASE FROM DR POWER!

"Yes I fell for the advertising. I purchased a DR26 walk behind mower. Cost was $1000 with free shipping. Right out of the box it did not mow correctly. The mower would start right up yet would only cut some of the grass. Never a nice clean cut. I called tech support and they walked me thru a number of fixes which none worked. So they picked the mower up and sent me another one.

The second mower currently has only been used for about 2 years. I have mowed with it a total of 12 times. I can mow for about 30 mins and boom the belt breaks. So thinking that something was my fault I ordered a new belt and replaced it which was fairly straight forward. Again I mowed for about 30 mins and boom the belt breaks. So ordered another belt after talking to tech support. belt came in. Again boom belt breaks. Now I'm thinking I did something wrong. So I bring it to the John Deere dealer that I use to service my tractors. They worked on it and replaced the belt as per the manual. They ran it for 30 mins and the belt started breaking. So I called DR Power and as per my extended warranty that I purchased they had me take it into Pughs mower repair center in Dover DE.

Not only was the repair not covered by my extended warranty (NEVER PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. IN FACT NEVER PURCHASED FROM THIS COMPANY) but all the repair guy did was replace the belt. Telling me that it was user error........ So now I have a big hunk of metal sitting in my garage. I have had to purchase another mower and count the total of $1600 a loss.

Do not waste your money on the Pilot XT leaf vac

"After waiting over 2 months for the Pilot XTSP to arrive and with only 2 hours of use, it's broken.
Quality control was bad to start with. Dead battery, holes in handle didn't line up, bolts too short.
After I got it assembled with redrilling the holes and using longer bolts, I put it on a battery charger overnight and it would only start if it started right off the first or second push of the button. Any more and the battery was dead.
Now after only the third time of use the right rear wheel is locking up. The machine will drive forward about 2 feet and then the wheel locks and drags on the grass.

CAUTION! Read this BEFORE you commit to buy.

"I purchased a DR leaf blower recently. I paid extra for the liftgate service and was pleased with that decision. The blower arrived in a few days. It came on a pallet with a cardboard doghouse. It was a little beat up but the blower had only minimal damage. I followed the directions to complete the final assembly, added oil and gasoline as directed and it started right up. I was quite pleased so far. After using it for 2+ hours on my gently rolling 2 acre lot, I realized that I had made a mistake. While the machine performed flawlessly, I realized that pushing it around on my property was not going to work for me. I contacted the company to request a return authorization. After being placed on hold for about 15 minutes, the rep came back on the phone and informed me that the blower could not be returned because I had put oil and gasoline into it. He went on to state that the best option for me was to sell it locally. That was a surprise to me and not the news I needed to hear. I had read the return policy and don't remember reading that putting oil and gas into the machine would prevent me from returning it. It obviously had previously had gas and oil in it when I received it. So, this is the main reason I'm not satisfied with my experience with DR. CAUTION! If you're considering buying a gasoline powered piece of equipment from DR, know that if you put gasoline and/or oil in it, it CAN'T BE RETURNED!"

Dr walk behind leaf and vacuum model Pilot xtsp

"Received machine after waiting 3 months on Sept 6, 2022. Machine would not start. No help from DR as to getting a repair man to come to my house to pick up and take back to their shop for repair. Brand spanking new, right out of the box and I'm having trouble with their warrantee. I need this resolved, either they need to have it repaired or replace it with another brand new working machine"

Absolute garbage equipment

"I purchased a Dr. weed trimmer, a Dr. Tiller, and a Dr Auger April 13, 2022. Over $2,600 so I have some skin in the game. I waited probably 6 weeks to get the tiller and weed trimmer. And a couple of months to get the auger. The weed trimmer did not work out of the box and had to be fixed by my mechanic. Then the belt broke on my 2nd use. The belt is not easy to replace. The tiller also did not work out of the box. Not enough power to turn the tine to move it forward or to turn the dirt with it. It does turn the tines in reverse. I tried to navigate through the support options to get it working and had my mechanic try to fix it a couple of times. No luck. An hour on hold to customer service and an hour drive to the warranty repair shop. Wait another several weeks for repair and they tell me it had a fouled carburetor and its all fixed. I said that is not possible. I get it back home and it still will not turn dirt. I have tilled ZERO feet since I placed my order in April. The auger works fine but it has very cheap plastic parts on it. Just a matter of time before that is broken also. I purchased 3 year warranties on all of the equipment but its not worth the effort, lost time and money to keep calling in claims to fix the equipment. I am going to Lowes today to purchase another tiller so I can plant my garden before it is too late in the year. I have asked DR for a refund on the tiller and I will see if they have any integrity. Based on my experience, I have a hard time believing any of the wonderful reviews that convinced me to purchase DR equipment. What I do know is they are selling cheaply made equipment that does not work at premium prices but I give them props for their marketing department. I run a log home restoration company and I do not have time to deal with this nonsense. I just need something that works. The repair place told me Dr is the worst junk that they work on and often comes to them broken out of the box with no parts available to fix it. Now that I can believe.

Junk briggs&stratton engines!

"I bought a DR trimmer for over $1000.00. This thing has a briggs&stratton EXI 875 junk engine in it! It has a plastic carburetor and aluminum engine. It is very poor quality. DR offers to repair it at an authorized dealer but no one wants to work on their junk because they will not pay for the repairs. Too many small engine manufacturers are going to electric junk mowers that nobody wants and nobody will buy! If Briggs&stratton is the only manufacturer of small engines left I may as well buy a reel mower!"

DR Pro 60" Power Grader - Wireless remote - already obsolete and wireless not supported by DR!

"5 years ago we bought a DR Pro 60" power grader with the wireless remote for $1700 or so. Numerous issues with the unit - the original battery went belly up after 2 years, AND the battery hold down simply broke within the 1st year. After about 3 years, the power raise/lower started getting sketchy -sometimes it would not raise after being lowered - I assume something in one of the relays because I could hear a 'clicking' sound but the actuator wouldn't move. Sometimes just banging on the actuator or relays would cause the unit to work. I soldiered on with it. Then last fall, it refused to raise when lowered.

So this spring, I decided it was time to repair it - I would start by simply replacing the relays - Big surprise - DR no longer offers any parts support for the WIRELESS remote and instead forces the owner to buy a CONVERSION KIT to convert it to a WIRED REMOTE. So that was the route I had to go -had to spend $300 on a conversion kit with actuator. DR couldn't even be bothered to send the spacers for the FRONT actuator connection, although the instructions indicated they SHOULD have been with the retro fit kit - I had to reuse the ones from the old actuator.

At any rate, I did get my grader working - but lost the convenience of the wireless remote which we paid EXTRA for - this is only a 5 year old unit, and had to spend more than I should have if parts for the WIRELESS remote were available. It does not bode well for actual support for more complex DR machinery with more moving parts. The actual grading is ok - I'm always wishing the scarifier teeth were adjustable to dig more deeply, like the teeth on a box blade or 3 pt driveway plane; the fixed teeth kind of scratch the surface, and necessitate a lot more back and forth than should be necessary to loosen a packed road and fill in pot holes or washboard.

Needless to say, given the poor quality, and planned obsolescence after a shockingly short period (5 years, really?) I will never spend a DIME on a DR product again.

Hard to put together

"Bought a 48" grader. While it is a good piece of equipment, when put together, it is really hard to put together. We had to hire someone finally to do it for us. It is heavy and the instructions are awful. We looked for a video on it and there are none. We talked to the company 3 times. They have no video either. While they are "sorry" for our trouble no one even took the time to talk with us and talk us through the problems we had. When I say the instructions are awful I mean that they are unclear and incorrect. Sometimes they mention things that should be done first later in the instructions. DR was not interested in me giving them my notes for all the corrections needed. We are VERY unhappy with the service we've received. There doesn't seem to be any reason that much more of the unit could be put together before shipping. Some things, like the adjustment handle of course, would make it very expensive to ship and prone to breakage, but the rest of it could be put together much much more before shipping. If we'd had any idea that we'd have so much trouble getting this grader put together we never would have bought it."

piece of junk!!

"Bought a tiller in spring 2020. It worked good for about 40 feet, then quit. 3 weeks in the shop, finally fixed. worked about an hour, then broke a belt. another 3 weeks in the shop. another hour, broke something else. Used this spring for 2 hours. broke a belt. still waiting for a belt. It works great when it works, which is about a total of 5 hours in 1 1/2 years"

“End of summer sale”

"What the really mean is, you get your order summer order, just in time of snow. “End of summer sale”
Ordered mover attachment over a month ago. Since the they. Hanged the shipping date 5 times. After I spend $3600 for the badly engineered brush mower. It works, but the trans constantly get stuck, causing cable to brake. The brakes are junk ! And handles are bend @ delivery. Buy something else. But no DR !!!

FAIL OFTEN TOO! BEWARE BEWARE! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY SOMETHING MADE WITH QUALITY FROM AN AMERICAN COMPANY! CHINA PURCHASED DR AND BRIGGS AND STRATTON AND IT'S ALL CRAP NOW! Poor experience.

"Ordered item from their own website as a “sale” item. Also ordered spare parts. Parts arrived just fine but two weeks with no contact I was finally contacted that they discontinued my item. Not sure how you advertise items on your website that you don’t have. Spent two hours on the phone and the best they would do is sell me a reconditioned model for $200 more than the new one they wouldn’t sell me. Had to send spare parts back. What a bait and switch scam. "
