"I ordered a Garmin Street pilot from dfd distributing and the never shipped the item. I used Paypal, the contacted David Francis and he never responded. This company uses several different business names: Atthat1store, Dfc Services, Dfd Systems, David Francis Consulting, Dfd electronics andf Dfd Marine & Gps Electronics. They do not answer their telephones.

"I ordered my Streetpilot 2610 early in September, knowing there would be a wait of a few weeks before the unit shipped, or maybe even longer, depending on how many were waiting for these units to ship. I had some communication with them later in September but by the time October came around, there was not much of that. After checking their website, which was still in existence thru the month of October, I began to realize there was a problem when no responses came back. I was not able to get thru on their phone lines, and finally I realized this was a deal destined not to be completed when their website went away. I contacted the CC who confirmed I was still within the 60 day window to dispute the charge that went from my CC thru Paypal for the payment. Since I was beyond the 30 day window for Paypal, it was the only option left. My CC has assured me the money will be credited back to my CC, paid for by Paypal, since their Paypal account was unverified (good thing not to do again... never pay for a business purchase thru an unverified Paypal account, no matter what..). I have since ordered the Streetpilot thru another seller and have received a tracking number for it's deliver this coming week. The first seller was recommended to me from his previous purchase, and recommendation from this resellerratings website, but it appears I got involved at the exact wrong time. What happened is anyones guess, but it appears I will be one of the lucky ones who dealt with them. I might not be allowed to use Paypal ever again (or so they are suggesting, by the sound of their nasty email they sent me...), but there were few choices in this deal and $758 is nothing to walk away from, no matter who gets stuck holding the bag on this bogus deal."

"Ordered on the web-site. No acknowledgement of order until after many tries I was connected on phone. Paypal sent money from my bank account. Now (Nov. 20) there is full message bank on phones and the web-site re-directs to ZD Net. I suspect this company is out of business.

This dealer does not answer phone and has stiffed me through PayPal for the full cost of a GPS system. Will turn over to the attorney general of Florida....need to find the address."
"BEWARE!! I ordered a Garmin 2610 on 10/24/03 and was charged $739.99 against my paypal acct. Nothing has arrived in 4 weeks, no email response, no answer on the phones. I have left several messages, when the phone machine was still on, and sedveral emails. Nothing. Now they don't even answer the phones. The website is rerouting users to the ZDNET search engine. Avoid!! I suspect this is some kind of scam!! "
"On Sunday 8-31-03, I made an on-line purchase from DFD Distributing company. I ordered the Garmin StreetPiolet 2610 for price of $769.99. I immediately paid for it via PayPal and received the PayPal confirmation,(Transaction ID: 9HL79805FP637831E), but never received any type of confirmation of my order from DFD Distributing.
At the time of my order I knew that this item was not expected to be available for shipping until approximately 9-15-03.
On 10-3-03 I learned from DFD Distributing that the item had still not been shipped to them from the manufacturer so I cancelled my order and ordered the product from another company that happened to have a unit in stock.
Within an hour of notifing DFD Distributing of my order cancellation they sent my payment back to me, via PayPal, and apologized for the unusual delay my order which was beyond their control.

"I ordered a Streetpilot III on a Saturday and received it the following Friday. Shipping was free. Packing was very good. An e-mail was sent confirming shipment with a tracking number. The DFD price was the best deal I found and there was no call back to try to sell overpriced extended warranties and accessories. I will recommend this site to friends who want a GPS unit. "

"Just thought that I would take a minute to let you folks know how much I was impressed with your prompt service.I ordered my Garmin Street Pilot III on Sunday June 29TH on the internet.Free shipping was included with my order so I was prepared to be waiting for at least a week.I emailed the good people at DFD Distributing on Monday asking about how soon I could get a UPS tracking number.Well when I came home for lunch wednesday much to my suprise I saw a package at my front door and wondered what my wife had ordered.I picked up the box and saw DFD Distributing on the label and really was suprised to see it was my Garmin Street Pilot.I mean that I have payed extra from other companies before to get things quicker with results not as good as my free shipping from DFD.Thanks a bunch.I have just got a chance to start playing with my Street Pilot so I will be sending in a review on it later.If its as good as DFD Distributing then I will be a happy man.
