many mistakes/lies

"so made an order on 11/27/23 two days later i was sent a email saying they over sold should ship with in 7 to 10 business days on day 11 i reached out to their live chat. The live chat was handled by a chat bot that didn't work but said that real people monitor the chat and jump in if needed (20 mins later no one showed). After that i was going to call them the next day but i reviewed them on the review site they have listed and the next day was contacted by there support team.

They informed me they over sold and discontinued the item and would refund my card ($94.33),and to order the newer product and they would give me free shipping. I contacted them back (shipping was free) to see if they would honor the price difference, they offered a 15% discount which put it just a few dollars more so i agreed.

After placing the order on dec 19th , thats how long it took to get to this point, they charged my card than refunded the 15% right after, but still didn't get my refund of $94.33 from the order they canceled. So i reached out again (about 10 times total now), they answered back great news we will be shipping your order soon. I contacted them back again saying this order was canceled by you guys already and was due a refund and i reordered the newer product per your instructions.

So a day or two later they got back to me said its in the shipping department nothing we can do. Now i have two packages and they expect me to PAY to ship it back to them. I would recommend that you say far far a way from this company.

ps my orders both came in the same day on 12/29/23 after a whole month if dealing with them

Shop Crucial Cannot Ship On-Time

"Ordered in stock items in early January 2023. I chose the cheap (free shipping) option. I get that method of shipping may take 5-7 days to arrive. After 10-days of no status of the order, a shipping notice was sent. The Crucial online store was sub-contracted to Digital River. The tracking information indicated the shipment was by UPS. The tracking number was by its formatting, not UPS, but the US Postal Service. This is a hybrid shipping method where UPS takes the package to the customer's local Post Office and they make the actual delivery. It has been historically the most lengthy method to ship and the tracking info does not become alive until the Post Office receives the shipment from UPS. Regardless if the Crucial customer asks for expedited shipping at extra cost or free shipping, both customers paid the same for the product and both orders should be shipped on the same schedule if all items are in stock. The Crucial web site has NO method of contacting them by phone, web, or email. All emails come from a NoReply email address so the buyer is essentially powerless to complain or inquire about their order."

Awful service

"Paid 9 dollars extra to have my order in 2-4 days. waited a week and it never shipped. support said it would be shipped in “24 business hours” i waited two days and it never shipped. I am now trying to cancel my order which is also, taking forever. I was told i would get a cancellation email, i did not. I contacted support again about the cancellation and they said i would get the email in “4 business hours”. still haven’t gotten it. Crucial is awful, do not buy from here. most of their products are on amazon where its faster and mostly cheaper. "

Love their products; shipping and customer service are poor

"Ordered two hard drives and some RAM, Sun Dec 18, around 3PM EST, standard shipping. Received a confirmation immediately. Received an email on Tues 12/20 at 10:17am EST, stating "The following product(s) have shipped," with all ordered products listed. I think all reasonable people would agree that "have shipped" means has departed the seller and has been picked up by (or at least placed to be picked up on that day by) the shipper. Apparently, Crucial has some different interpretation of this very straightforward phrase . . . I tried their UPS tracking number more than 24 hr later on 12/21. Not recognized by UPS. Called to complain. Rep in India read from some script saying "tracking numbers may take 24-48 hr to show up on tracking web app - call back if it does not show after 48 hr." Not particularly happy with that explanation for how "shipped" might mean that the tracking number is not active for 2 entire days, but agreed to do that. More than 48 hr later (12/22), UPS still does not recognize the tracking number. Call back. Now I am told by another rep in India "you need to wait another day. If it still does not register in the system tomorrow we will escalate the issue. Here is a case number." Really unhappy, but she would not send my call to the next level help person, despite my insistence that 48 hr was too long - so I gave up. Finally, the evening of 12/22, the tracking number is recognized by UPS, but with the message: "Shipment Ready for UPS." On 12/23 noon, EST, STILL the same message, with the details stating, "12/22/2022, 5:11 P.M., Order information received." No further activity on this shipment. Definitely still not picked up yet. So I try to call customer service to now with my case number ready, to have the promised escalation of my complaint. But Crucial customer service is CLOSED from 12/23 - 12/26. Am I supposed to believe that the rep I spoke to the day before did not know this? No way - she was just trying to get me off the phone and had no concern whatsoever about my satisfaction with my order. So, in summary, for my order that was placed on 12/18 and supposedly SHIPPED on 12/20 at 10am, it is actually STILL NOT in the hands of the shipper more than 72 hr beyond the stated SHIPPED day and time. At this point, I don't expect UPS to be able to access this shipment until Crucial is open again (assuming all is closed for the holidays) until 12/27 (which would mean 9 days after placing my order, it is finally PICKED UP by the shipper, to then spend another several days slowly making its way to me). So 2 stars ONLY because I know the products are top notch. If I was reviewing shipping and customer service only, it would be NEGATIVE 5 stars for communicating what can only be called lies about when "SHIPPED" products have actually left their facility, and then failing to even minimally address my complaint about a paid for product, listed as shipped for days, that probably had not even been packaged for shipment yet."

"My SSD failed and they wasted my time on the phone for a while then they gave me an address to send it to within 10 days which I was able to do and USPS shows it got there to the front desk. And I haven’t heard anything back since. Considering legal action."

Bad experience

"You'll probably be fooled like me by other positive reviews on other sites, but those reviews aren't true. I didn't have a good experience with this company. Avoid shipping here at all cost. You have a difficult time getting situations resolved with customer service, because it's a third party company that handles their customer service. I paid for next day shipping on computer parts that I bought, but it took 11 attempts to contact them before they even printed a shipping label. They made do many guarantees that my item will be there the following day, but unfortunately the item just say in their shipping warehouse. Once they print the shipping label, they won't cover refund or cancel order, even though the purchased item sits in their warehouse for days. Now something I paid to have delivered the next day will arrive 7 days later the day you paid for. I can't imagine if I would've chose free shipping. Customers are correct that they will send you an email after you purchase the item that you'll have to wait longer because they don't have the item. It dosen't really matter what you purchase you'll get that same email. They will lie to you over and over again. I also emailed the CEO and no reply. The company is a good symbol for corruption. "

Disgusting

"After ordering a RAM(which was listed as "in stock") for my Mac, I got an email, saying that it is out of stock, and I need to wait for 5-7 working days. After sending that email, they di not even change the status of the item on their website misleading other people as well. Refund request is a pain in the ****. They issued a refund almost a week later. As a result, I lost almost 10% of my local currency because of the exchange rate change. Never again - better go to OWC or Samsung."

Avoid, buy their products from resellers!

"The shipping is from Netherlands to the UK apparently this takes 10days to ship a £250+ order... hmmm. Faster shipping from China! Regardless the order updates are so slow, haven't received the product yet (still got 5 business days left to wait) safe to say i hope this memory isn't faulty, 14 day shipping incl weekends is unacceptable in 2020. Won't be ordering from here again, probably stick to samsung and corsair for similar products and better shipping process. "

returns process not working

"returns process is not working. i have us postal tracking number showing delivered. rep says they have to open an "investigation request" to try to find what happened before they can return my money. i waited the given 5-7 days posted, checked with one rep, they said it was received and would be processed soon, waited another week, now rep says showing not returned. totally unacceptable. i wouldn't waste your time messing with these guys anymore.

Rude India Customer Service- Hung up on 3 times and given run around

"For my customer, in my computer repair store, I ordered a 16 gb memory kit and paid for expedited shipping to meet my customer's deadline.
First, Crucial did NOT send it expedited...I kept watching the tracking system, and it sat "waiting to be picked up" for several days. I had to apologize to my customer. The RAM was received 3 extra days beyond expedited shipping promises.

When the RAM arrived (before I installed it in my customer's laptop), I called customer service and asked for a refund of my expedited shipping. The India customer service rep said no problem given the timing, and I was going to "get an email when it is done".

When I put the RAM in my customer's laptop, one of the pieces of RAM was bad. My customer needed the ram and I could only sell them 8 GB. I put her 4 GB chip in also, so at least she had 12. I had to apologize to my customer, but she was understanding (a saint...late shipping, 1/2 product was bad).


I called, on the phone to Crucial customer service and asked that they replace the bad piece of RAM (at least i could put it in my inventory since i couldnt sell it to my customer)..The India rep said that they would mail it right out and "you will get an email when it is done"...

no email...time passes...no ram, no refund...

I call back:

regarding my replacement ram: the rep said the original rep did not know procedure, and i have to mail back both pieces in the set, and they cannot just replace the bad one...i explained my situation...and he said that is the policy. i asked him to look up where my expedited shipping refund was...and he hung up on me.

i called back, asked to speak to a supervisor...and they wouldn't pass me on until i retold the story AGAIN...then i was passed to a "supervisor"....

the "supervisor" listened to my 2 issues (refund of expedited shipping, and replacement of bad ram), then he said he would forward me to his supervisor and said i would have to explain my story again....

his "supervisor" got on the phone and i went over my 2 issues again. he said he would place me on hold to look up the shipping refund....then he hung up on me...

i called back to the 800# and it rang and rang and rang, then went to a busy signal.

i called back and told them i was working with a supervisor when he hung up on me...he wanted to know all the details, so I had to re-tell the same 2 issues again...then he told me i would receive my refund and "would get an email" when it was done. regarding the bad ram, he said i would "get an email" with an rma in it...to which i asked if they were also going to send me a shipping label to pay for shipping...and he said NO that I would have to pay shipping on the product to return the bad part...

that is when i said, enough is enough: it was my turn to hang up on them... I told them that from now on I will just buy from Amazon because of way better customer service, and they dont charge you to return a defective product....the india customer service rep could care less.

Used to be a good company

"I'm an experienced engineer, with a hardware background. I run/administer 17 computers at my business.

I started buying memory from Crucial in 2000. Good quality, quick (free) delivery, and decent prices. Wow, has THAT changed! In the past few years, I have had 5 sets of memory boards go bad. Their quality has gone waaay down. Delivery is no longer quick, just cheap, and they don't pack the delicate memory boards in boxes to protect them from UPS. I'm sure I've seen failures because the memory was banged, smashed, dropped, and Crucial now sends memory in a basic UPS shipping envelope. That's not enough protection for tiny BGA SMT assemblies (look it up). Their prices are no better than the local MicroCenter, so from now on, I'm going there for my memory and SSDs, where I can at least examine the package the product came in to see if it was smashed, dropped, etc. To top it off, when they replace defective memory, they "may" substitute refurbished product for the new product you paid for. This means that a product worked for a moment on their memory test machine, but it doesn't mean that it is reliable, nor does it mean that there wasn't latent damage from being abused, or shipped, earlier.

Crucial Memory is Run by Rude and Crooked Customer Service Manager Ashish from India

"AVOID BUYING anything from Crucial Memory company which is also owned by Micron. They are a very corrupt company run by Sanjay Mehrotra, a CEO, who under his failed leadership, has suffered from slumping sales--due to Crucial's own substandard business practice. They are not transparent. Crucial company will not provide you with a legitimate working email or even corporate office phone number to file your complaints. The emails they post on their website to contact them, including customer relations are FAKE non-working emails.

Crucial Memory's only call center is in India. They use a phone number that is non-international to give you the FALSE Impression that they are based in the United States but your customer service calls will get answered by employees in India who are rude, impatient and cannot speak English clearly. The CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER ASISH is a very rude LOW-CLASS man based in India who can barely speak English. ASISH pronounces English words as if he's speaking Punjabi language to you. And if you ask him more than two questions, he will get mad. And then Asish (from Crucial Memory company) will hang up on you when inquire about when you would be getting your refund. Save yourself the time, money and headache. Do not spend money on a company that is run by rude employees based out of India.

Crucial Memory customer service manager Asish will hang up on you instead of apologizing for their lousy service and MISLEADING advertisement of their products. Do your research online and you will see they have a history of not only being incredibly rude to customers but Crucial Memory sells DEFECTIVE COMPUTER MEMORY PRODUCTS. THE MANAGER by the name of ASHISH is a very rude, arrogant man who will shout over the phone and argue with you instead of admitting that Crucial Memory employees are at fault. Crucial employees have NO PEOPLE SKILLS and NO INTEGRITY. Very unprofessional.
