“Mr. & Mrs. Lugo - I spoke with Chris regarding your installation and he brought me up to speed on the issue with the gaps between the door pairs on your upper cabinets in the laundry. I can confirm that door pairs require a gap between them (1/8" - 3/16") to open and close properly. The only way to prevent a shelf from showing is to design with a divider panel where the doors meet (but you lose the usable width of the cabinet since the divider will cut it in half). Your cabinet would only be about 15" interior width with that design choice.
The solution Chris implemented was to install a concealing cleat on one of the doors to cover the gap, and to reduce the shelf depth by 3/4" to make room for the cleat. This is also the installation process for securing locking doors when they are paired instead of a single door. It was not a bandaid solution developed on-the-fly. It is an alternate installation process we have used many times for the locking doors. You don't have locking doors, but that installation method does resolve the concern you expressed about seeing the shelving in the door gap.
I am sorry the final look did not meet your expectations in this instance. I assure you that anyone using the European frameless systems will have gaps between door pairs; the doors will rub when opening and closing if the gap is too small or not present. We have these doors installed in our offices, showroom, and thousands of clients and there is always a gap.
