"I am very pleased and happy with this product. I plan to use the pieces in the box here next year instead of any more ready-made kits from a store. I believe that putting the sides and the top and the chimney on the gingerbread home will be a lot easier with this cut out system. It is much like large cookie-cutters with a little cookie cutter tree and a cookie cutter for the windows, chimney and door. It will cost much less for me to find a gingerbread recipe (sp?) And simply cut out simple flat pieces, decorate them, and THEN seal them together.
Yes, I am going to decorate the parts of the home and THEN ice or glue or seal the home together. I do not in an y way understand why people say to put the home together before decorating it. Maybe I will learn, yet I do believe that decorating all the parts, or most all of the parts of the building is an excellent strategy when building the buildings. It is so difficult to do the areas under the roof, for example, when I have already placed the roof to the side of the home or church...
Gingerbread making is something that I hope to do as a hobby next Christmas. I bought some already made piece kits this Christmas. Each side of the homes in the kits were made, as well as the roof. I just put the pieces together with icing and glue. I will not eat any of the candy now! (Yes, that is "toxic," as my mother and boyfriend have stated.) I just wish for them to last for a long time. (To do this, I am putting anything that I have bought for the houses in an airtight container from Office Max and with a de-humidifier. I also sprayed it with lacquer, from Home Depot. that is a third thing that people on the internet recommend to do to if I / you wish to keep the homes year after year.) The product came just as it said, I am pretty sure. There are many metal shapes to work with in order to make this kit work.
This kit, a very simple one that fits inside itself to make it easy storage, is also , in that said, looking as if it will be quite simple to work with. I am new to this whole thing, so I have been searching the internet for parts or decorations or whatever I can find that do not cost so much. I am buying as much as I can. At the same time, now that I have these pieces, I am not going to buy any shapes or molds besides this one. If I have already bought some that I forget, cool. If I only have this cut-out tool, I will be satisfied. Also, I think that I have bought it "used." As is everything that I buy "used," it is in excellent condition. Excellent. Buy them used if you can. I have bought everything off of the internet used and off amazon. No problems what so ever. Chef Tools / Chef Tools Network is trustable. My product came with no damages.
