The goods were legit Wera product, the prices were far better than anything on Amazon, etc..., and the shipping took about 3 weeks total to arrive from the time I placed the order. For a small family run business I was very happy with the product, delivery, and pricing. Not only are the prices great, but there is also no sales tax charged and shipping is free on any order over $99.

For those who are unaware, Chads is a small family run business out of Wyoming with receiving and distribution out of Alaska. Chad's chat function on the website is not really chat, but apparently email to Chad who runs all the admin functions of the biz himself. So yes, with a 1 man run small biz you are not going to get an immediate response to your chat inquiries, nor are you going to be connected immediately to an outsourced foreign customer service rep who is based out of India or Pakistan like you'll get with Amazon, etc.... With Chads you are supporting a small family biz. With Amazon you are supporting a multi billionaire, who regularly pays his distribution employees wages at or below the poverty line, has outsourced all of their customer service functions to foreign firms, and a company who has used their size and lobbying to get massive sweetheart tax cut deals from numerous local US municipalities where the other locals of those municipalities are left to pay higher taxes to make up for the shortfall of locust like firms like Amazon. If you are into supporting that type of biz have at it! But don't complain when in the end the country ends up exactly the way you have helped engineer it with your purchase decisions. I'll gladly wait a few extra weeks for legit product at great prices from a US family run biz like Chads.

And last, who the heck operates a trade type business or works as a tradesman where you need a tool in a day or two or even a week? Ever heard of a thingy called planning? If you are that incompetent of a trade firm owner or a tradesman that you don't keep a spare set of tools on hand that's on you and your own stupidity and poor planning dummies, not Chads. Just saying. :-)"

"Here's the deal with Chad's - their prices are great, but if they say they have something in stock... maybe they do, maybe they don't. Probably they don't. You'll eventually get your stuff, but expect it to take a month or two. They'll withdraw funds from your card immediately, which means they are obliged to send out your product within 30 days but it's a roll of the dice if that actually happens.

If you email them for status, you'll probably get no response at all. If you do get a response, it'll be to inform you that your package is shipping out shortly. That's a lie, it might still take another month when they say that.

I had one order stretch on for about 6 weeks. I eventually cancelled it and order the tools directly from Germany at a lower price and they arrived a little over a week later. In many cases, you'll find ordering direct from overseas to be cheaper and also a hell of a lot faster.

So, if you want high quality tools at a cheap prices, Chad might be able to help. If you want them within the next 10 weeks, maybe try somewhere else because god only knows when they'll actually send your stuff."

"I placed an order over a week ago and absolutely nothing has happened. The website still doesn't show that I even have an open order but I definitely have my receipt PayPal. I inquired about my order with the live chat tool which turns out isn't actually live, or chatting, or a tool because in 2 days no one ever responded. "I don’t know what people are complaining about — Chad is great! I’m a repeat customer and have ordered multiple times from ChadsToolBox.com, and I have never had any problems.

It’s important to understand that this is a small business — by which I mean, it seems to be Chad Chilstrom running the business office in Wyoming and his son/relatives/employees at the warehouse in Palmer, Alaska, due to their favorable tax laws.

His business is primarily focused on resellers, large repeat orders from businesses that will re-sell the tools at a retail mark-up, but aside from distribution, he also sells direct to consumers.

I’ve never had a problem. After I place an order, it typically ships out within a matter of days, and I have it within a week. Many tools are in stock in the warehouse (as is accurately indicated on the website). If the tools are not in stock, they must be ordered from the manufacturer, and it may take longer, and you just have to expect this.

This is the same with all the German tool distributors. Sometimes, you may get a delay as a result of a backorder or even a cancelation due to an item no longer being made. There is NO difference with ChadsToolBox and other distributors in this regard, except that other businesses will notify you immediately of any issues; whereas you may need to follow up with Chad to check if there will be any delays.

I’ve done this before, and that way I know when to expect an item will be shipped. The website uses a pseudo-“Text” customer support, which is actually e-mail. You’re not going to have someone respond within seconds, because Customer Support is … just Chad, replying to emails. He usually replies in an hour, but I have had to wait as long as eight hours for an email back.

So, in summary, it’s all about appropriate expectations. ChadsToolBox.com is a VERY small business run by Chad and his family. The tools you get are genuine, and you will generally get them within a week — the same as Zoro, KCTool, etc. However, you will be paying much lower prices in most cases with Chad; the trade off is that there are no fancy giveaways, the website is a bit difficult to navigate (have the manufacturer’s model number handy to help you find what you are looking for!), and Customer Service is not like Amazon. If those things are important to you, you may be better off elsewhere, but if you want to support a real small business owner, then I recommend ChadsToolBox!
