"I found these guys through PriceWatch while looking for a SCSI 3 cable. They had a great price with free shipping but the company web page showed a different price and shipping costs. I called them up and they told me to paste the info from PriceWatch into the “comments” box and the price will be honored. I did just that and the order went through. This was on September 29th.

Two weeks go by and there is no sign of that cable. I called them up to see what was going on and in broken English I was told that they shipped the cable and it should be there soon. Of course they shipped it using United States Postal Service, which is a cheap, slow, and worst of all an untraceable carrier. I have no clue where the order is or when it will get here.

Today is October 27th and i still don't have that cable and if it is not here by tomorrow this order will be canceled, and hopefully that will at least turn out okay.

Avoid these clowns at all costs.

UPDATE:

I called them up several times and they promised to look into the issue and call me back. They never called me back. Then this happened again and again until it was discovered that the cable was shipped to the billing address and not the shipping. USPS is untraceable and to make things worse they don’t deliver to P.O. Boxes. So basically nobody has any idea where this cable is. The lady on the phone offered to send out a new one and I accepted since canceling the order and placing it with another company would take longer and cost me more. I asked the lady if she could send it priority since I’ve already waited a month and shouldn’t have to wait a day longer. She said she can’t but I insisted she talk with the manager about this. Two days later I had my SCSI cable sent to me priority, USPS - let’s give them credit for just that at least. However, today I learned that I misinterpreted what the lady on the phone meant when she offered to send me a new cable. She did not mean “hey, we screwed up we don’t know where you’re cable is so here is a new one” she meant “You ordered a cable, you never got it because we can’t tell the difference between a shipping and billing address, so we will kindly allow you to pay for another one”, as the credit card was billed for a second cable. They have permanently lost my business; I don’t care how good their prices are.

"Great prices, I actually got the PriceWatch advertised price (I had to ask for it over the phone and they complied). I ordered two 50' cat-5 cables from them, and received them via FedEx.

The cables worked fine, but my credit card bill showed $3.50 higher than it should have been. Shipping charges, perhaps? No. I called them and spoke to Wendy, who informed me that there is a "warehouse processing fee". This was the first time I'd heard of this. She explained that since my order was too small, they'd add an extra charge.

Well that's fine in some way, because the cables were dirt cheap -- BUT TELL ME ABOUT THE CHARGE BEFORE I ORDER. I argued with her for 10-15 minutes, and she would not give a refund. I gave up, and told her that if they wanted to continue to do business and keep customers, they should consider notifying people of the charge before they place that order. I *might* still use them again, but I'd definitely ask about any extra charges before I hang up.

My experience with these brigands was quite
similar to that posted by tjsynkral, where posted
prices in pricewatch were completely disregarded
on the order. There is no reasoning with them--
either via phone or e-mail.

"This is one of the many disreputable sites that advertises a price on pricewatch.com, then charges something higher...

I wanted a USB A-A cable. There was an ad on pricewatch.com for a USB A-A cable for $3.50. This is an exact copy of the ad I found on pricewatch.com:

I placed an order and saw that the only options available were standard shipping methods that cost $6 or more. I put a note in the comments that the item was advertised as having free shipping and that I wanted the shipping cost adjusted before my card was billed. I was then called and told that the sale didn't exist (wow, isn't it a shame when a store advertises a sale and then when you get there, the sale DOESN'T EXIST?). I then canceled the order, refusing to do business with them if they wouldn't meet their advertised price. I strongly recommend that you do NOT do business with cablesgroup.com.

"I order a 200 ft Cat 5 E cable from them with 10 piece RJ 45 head. Two days later I get an email with a tracking. I track it and it arrived. Everything seem fine to me."

"I ordered 2 x FIREWIRE Adapters(6 Pin Female/Female). The price looked good enough for me to gamble on these clowns. Well, I got more than I bargian for.

I received a confirmation email with fedex tracking info. No problem with that. The next Email I received which originated from Cablesgroup had a virus attached. Well I've been around the block so I just delete it and go on with life. The next day I receive another Email with two attachments. One of the attachments is a virus and the other was a text file. I opened the text file and to my surprise I found someone elses order form complete with all of his personal information and Credit Card number. WOW! Isn't that great. Cablesgroup is spreading customers credit card numbers around the Net. I contact Cablesgroup to inform them of the situation. The person I spoke with could not understand english very well and kept asking "What your customer number?". I would give it to her and then attempt to explain why I was calling only to have her once again say "What your customer number?"
Eventually I was given to someone who could understand and I was insured that action would be taken immediently.

Next day, another Email with attachments. The text file attachment once again contained a customers order form including card number. I once again called Cablesgroup. I spoke with the same person I had spoke with the previous day. The one which seemed to understand the situation.Well, She claimed to have no knowledge of the conversation from the previous day. I insisted that they immediently do something as I did not appreciate my card number being sent to random people contained in there customer database. I informed her that I intended to contact Visa, Discover, American Express... and inform them of the situation unless action to rectify this problem was taken. She took action. She had a person from the "hosting company" contact me. I provided information from the email headers. I guess they have cleared up the virus infected system they had because I haven't received anymore emails.

You'd think this would be enough right? Wrong. I placed one of the adapters into service and it fails after an hour of use. I grab the second (backup) adapter and this one failed to work at all.

I contacted Cablesgroup and was instructed to "Mail back and we send new". I was not given an RMA nor was I asked for any customer information. The person I spoke with was not interested when I attempted to give this information. She kept saying "send back we send new".

Somehow I don't think I'll ever see them.

Bottom line.

AVOID THESE PEOPLE!

The fact that I had to contact them twice to get any resolution to the very serious problem with the personal info / credit card number situation resolved is enough reason to never take a chance with them. How many peoples Card numbers were distributed before they finally took action.

WARNING! Cablesgroup operate under several DBA's (names). Google them and you'll find information about what names they use.

"I needed a rather odd adapter for a proprietary monitor I had just picked up. Cablesgroup had a pretty impressive selection and their prices weren't outrageous. I was than thrilled to see their $5.99 shipping and handling charge for $2 worth of postage and actual handling, but it's not a huge deal for me. I get the adapter with "lifetime warranty" written on the packaging. Needless to say one of the pins promptly broke when I tried to install it. I contacted them and sent the unit back.

I told them I was in a hurry and if they wanted to send me another unit and charge me for it and simply credit my account when the damaged one appeared, that would be fine. Anyway, I send the unit back and wait over a week for the new adapter to show up. Because of the delay, I ended up getting stuck with a busted monitor (I couldn't fully test it without an input and it took them three weeks to handle the intial ship, and the second ship) Irritating, granted, but not a huge issue with them. What finally sent me over the edge was that, for an $8.99 part, they were deducting over 25% because I didn't include the shredded bad the item was shipped in. The item label, receipt, and anything else was included, but the bag (which was in no less than 5 pieces in my garbage) apparently was so essential they couldn't live without it.

I contacted them and they were totally indifferent and refused to refund my money (Granted, it was only $2.25, but seeing as I pad them $12 in shipping in handling charges for two 2 ounce adapters...) These guys are pretty much punks looking to weasel every last cent. In my experience, their products are frightfully cheap and overall, so are they.

Maybe I'm spoiled, but I've got better vendors that actually have class to work with and I'm not working with these yahoos again.

"Dont ever use these people, they are total ripoff merchants. I called to ask if a product would work with my hardware and the lied and said it would to get the sale, then when I returned it as non-functioning they would on refund half of the money I paid and claimed it was broken. They will argue with you to not have to refund you. DONT USE THEM!"

"Seems like a cheap place to get Arctic Silver, right? WRONG! While they were the cheapest on www.pricewatch.com, they were actulally selling cheapo generic stuff that was not Arctic Silver at all. Pretty shady, but their other stuff may be fine, you have to decide. www.arcticsliver.com has more information about this fake arctic silver crud that they tried to sell me. Buyer beware I guess."
