"Product came with a defect (bad battery) that was known over a year ago. I only bought it because reviews on their site said they would replace the battery free so I figured I had nothing to lose. But when I had problems with my battery, first they accused me of breaking it. They they said all they could do was refund my money if I paid to send it back. When I refused to pay money for their defective product, they ignored al future responses. They also refuse to post any review of the item on their own site unless it is positive toward the company. So beware..you CANNOT trust the reviews you see on the site."

"I had a very positive experience buying my GPS receiver (Holux GPSlim 236) from BuyGPSnow.com. The device arrived quickly, worked well, and, to my surprise, included a free vent mount that *actually worked* (I had once bought one from someone else that broke while trying to install it…)

The thing that truly distinguishes BuyGPSnow is their excellent customer support. A few months after my purchase my receiver started acting up, where it would intermittently stop working for significant amounts of time, making it useless for reliable navigation. I tried contacting the manufacturer for help, but received no support from them.

Then I remembered the BuyGPSnow free support and product replacement warranty I had read before buying my unit, and got in touch with their support department to ask for help fixing the problem. They deemed the product defective, and helped me obtain an RMA to replace the product. The RMA process went smoothly, and I received a replacement for my receiver that continues to work smoothly to this day. It took about 4 weeks from first contacting support to receive my replacement unit.

I highly recommend buying from BuyGPSnow, as having a reseller who is willing to stand behind the products they sell has made all the difference for me.

"Great prices, horrible customer service.
I ordered a "universal" folding bluetooth keyboard from buyGPSnow.com, discovered that the device was not, in fact, universal, so could not be used with my device. I filed an RMA to return the device, and despite explaining the situation, they still deducted the 15% restocking fee.
I realize that I did not check the "compatibility" page for the item, but to my mind, universal usually means universal, not requiring arbitrary drivers for any given platform. I can understand why they might have to take the restocking fee for my mistake.
I contacted their online chat-help line, and explained the situation to the sales rep, Claire, who was extremely unprofessional and rude. I wanted to see if there was any way to get refunded the 15% Quoted below is our conversation:

Buy from buyGPSnow if you are SURE you know exactly what you're getting, and you are SURE you won't need to return it, or deal with their customer support.

I just want to say, if your support person had been helpful, professional, or at all considerate for my situation, this review would be a lot more positive, even if I did not recieve the 15% refunded to me.

Mr. Kee, you say that my claim of horrible customer service is "dishonest" and "not true". Dear reader, seeing the actual conversations above, and Mr. Kee's response, what do you think?
I acknowledge in my review that I messed up in my order and I realized that I would not get my money fully refunded.
I simply contacted their customer service to see if it was possible to get it back. They were, first off, very rude in the first exchange, not exhibiting any of the charecteristic customer service skills, ie, a willingness to resolve the situation, or at least explain it in a way that does not involve the electronic equivilant of yelling at someone. Second, when I attempted to contact their customer support a second time, the support person was so unprofessional as to NOT BE WILLING TO TELL ME THEIR NAME.
The evidence of this is above. You can see Mr. Kee's response to my post, which is hostile, and does not address the rude manner in which I was treated.
Can you see why I would say that buyGPSnow has HORRIBLE customer service?
I do not care about the money - I really do not. All I want now is a public apology for the way I was treated by your "support" staff.
Dear reader, if you think you'll need "support" on anything you buy from this company, please think again before ordering from them.

"Do not order Odyssey v4 from these people. They do not send the activation code/purchase certificate. My DVD is a better frisbee than usable software. Its been 3 days now, and still no email with my code. I talked to Infogation (maker of Odyssey) directly, and they cant even help me. So ive more or less bought an 80 dollar dvd with nothing on it. The phone number they provide is not thiers. And thier business address is an Apartment in Chino Hills, CA."

""Buy GPS Now" finally made an attempt after a long drawn out effort to replace a faulty SD card. READ BELOW.

Although they never sent the replacement SD card as requested, they do seem to be trying to correct the issue. They have asked for my address although they already have it on file. The problem has not been corrected as of 1/5/07 and they have closed my file due to no response from me over the holidays - but at the very least they did attempt to make good. I bought an SD card from someone else. I don't care about the $40.00 but its the principle of someone not taking care of business after the sale. Word of mouth is a powerful thing and "Buy GPS Now" needs to recognize that we all have a voice. The TomTom Navigation system, along with the OnCourse BlueTooth works very well with my Treo 650 Palm. I would recommend it to anyone. "Buy GPS Now" had a great track record in the earlier years, hopefully they will try to gain better customer support in the near future, and hopefully they will continue to try and send me the replacement SD card.

Pathetic Customer Service
PATHETIC SERVICE OVER A $40.00 PART

EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS! Your service is pathetic. This review is all over a $40.00 (retail) SD Card. that I recieved with my purchase of a TomTom Navigator 5 USA and OnCourse Bluetooth GPS Receiver.

This company could have easily provided a simple solution to replace a faulty SD card. Instead, customer service wants to negotiate a solution through a series of emails, suggesting I don't know how to use a SD card correctly, yet I'm quite capable of purchasing their GPS system for my Treo and setting that up correctly.

The only means of communicating with this company is an onslaught of back-and-forth emails with no resolve but to suggest they will charge me to evaluate my claim.

If you need any help or service after Buy GPS Now Inc. gets your money, good luck. There are dozens of other companies out there that would appreciate your business - This company couldn't care less.

Joekee's remarks should be a clear indication to anyone thinking about buying from these people as to the service you can expect after they cash your check. In one of his replies he actually suggests to his customer " I HOPE YOU GET WELL SOON"

Has anyone ever seen a company respond to a customers complaint in this manner? - Also note in another one of Joekee's remarks that there is indeed other ways to communicate with his company - by a support ticket, fax, or Club Lounge. That's refeshing Joekee, I have an issue with your faulty equipment and I can resolve it in the "Club Lounge" Now that's customer service for the 21 century - "Fax Support" and a "Club Lounge"
That really is a Joke E.

By the way Joe, you should read your reviews back in 2004, when you actually cared. You had some great reviews- in some cases you went as far as calling your customers to help them.

2 years later all you do is criticise your customers ligitimate complaints. Why not just take care of them. Positive feedback has got to be better for your business than this review.

Your offer was for me to send you my SD Card so you could run tests on it and if it worked for you, you would send it back to me and charge me the shipping. Its amazing how you try to turn the tables to suggest your customers are trying to screw you over. Please notice in your email below, you suggest that if I send it back "Shipping cost to you is on us" This clearly suggests that I must pay to ship the faulty product you sent me back to you.

Yes, but if the card return is tested to be working here, you will be charged with both shipping and handling to return it to you again. If the card is defective, we will replace it and shipping cost to you is on us.

Where does it say "send it back to us for a free replacement.

When I do buy an item from Circuit City or Best Buy, I can walk into any store in the country and return any item for a full refund with no questions asked. In addition, they have a phone number that I can ask for tech support, they don't put their customers thru a weeks worth of bulls*%# emails and then tell me to my face that I am wrong. By the way, it was Best Buy who just made a sale on new 2G SD Card and if it works or it doesn't work, I can return it without any concern of having to go thru, what I'm going thru with you.

Here's a test, or should I say a challenge for you. You send me a new 2G SD Card, free of charge and include a post paid return shipping envelope for the faulty SD card you sent me. Once I recieve the new one, I will ship the old one back and post a new customer review on RessellerRating.com stating I was wrong about "Buy GPS Now" and that you took extra steps to correct a customers problem at no additional charge.
Lets see who really talks the truth, me or you.
